2018 Free Dining Watch Thread V3

The 24th and to a lesser extent the 25th will be crowded. Rest of stay should be light crowds in parks. Restaurants will be more crowded so ADR's will be more difficult. Were you able to get a deal that saved you more than free dining would?

Yes we were! I guess I will re-arrange my dining plans in hopes of pushing the hardest ones last. Bummer! (Although yay for everyone else! Hahahaha)

Hi everyone, I’m new here! We booked our trip back on Christmas Day, we are going Dec.4-11,2018!!!! So very excited!! I see that they are offer the free dining plan Dec.7-23, my question is would will be able to take advantage of this for some of the time we are there and just pay for the other days? We did already add and pay for the dining plan. We have the 1 quick service meal, 1 Sit down and the two snacks a day.

In order for you to get free dining for some of your stay you'll have to do a split stay. Meaning two separate reservations. First reservation would be Dec. 4th-7th. Second would be Dec. 7th-11th. Free dining would apply to the 2nd reservation. Problem is that you must purchase a 4 day park hopper ticket for your 2nd reservation regardless of tickets purchased with the 1st reservation. That could negate much of the savings from free dining.

Dining Plan: 2018 Disney Dining Plan 1 Quick Service Meal (TBX), 2018 Disney Dining Plan Table Service Meal - Child (TBX), 2018 Disney Dining Plan Table Service Meal - Adult (TBX)

This is what my Boardwalk reservation with free dining shows under the dining plan. My son (the child in this situation) is 14. I understood that he is a Disney adult and orders from the adult menus. Why would it say "child" where the meal plan is listed?

Under 21 I believe, since liquor is included.

Is there any availability left? I just looked and it showed nothing for November dates?

From my experience, they have allowed my 10+ child to order off the kids' menu OR order a larger size of an item on the kids' menu (he has some food allergies though). I don't believe you'll have to pay OOP for that if you have DDP.

I want to save her adult dining credit in case we go to some restaurants that require 2 credits. Lol thank you for your reply.

Thank you and sounds like to much of a nightmare to try and change everything. And not worth it in the long run

How about the food and wine snacking?

We will definitely be doing F&W snacking on our EPCOT day... but I want to figure out what to get at the other parks. We always end up coming home with lots of Goofys Candy Co gummies, and this is our first time with 2x day. Need to do my favorite thing, Disney food research! But since we are at POP it'll be dole whips every day!

There must be some glitch because I checked the price for 2 adults for the dining plan it said $735 if you buy the plan separately. Obviously the site isn't subtracting the dining plan after selecting the FD package. Frustrating!

You are definitely having the worst luck of anyone on here. Can you remind me your dates and where you want to stay and how many of you there are with ages and what your current price is? I just want to see if I can see what's going on with your trip.

I booked our trip for AsSports but was hoping for Pop. Website shows Stitch ate the page the past few hours. Hopefully other rooms will become available.

So, my TA just informed me that there wasn't any more availability for AoA or Pop through Dec. 1, from our Nov.24 start of part 2 of split stay. She has a hold for us that she booked online for Nov 24-28, and hoping for additional info today to change. We also have our original ressie in place from Nov19-Dec1. Our 180-day is in about 3-4 weeks and shortly later is when SW flight window opens. So, that gives us a little bit of time for inventory to shift around. Hoping.

Congrats to all that were able to get the free dining promo.
My daughter will be 10 years old when we go and will be charged as an adult when dining. For the non buffet table service, will they let us opt out her table service credit and just pay for a kids meal? I know she will not like the food from the regular menu and she can't eat that much. She only likes Mac and Cheese!!!! The kids meal are for 9 year olds...are they strict?
They let my 10yr old order off of whichever menu she found something she liked:)

I believe you can start making your reservations at 6am EST on your 180 day mark
I thought I had read something that if we stay at a Disney resort we can make the reservations for dining 180 days ahead plus an extra 10 days does anybody know if that’s true? Although I could’ve probably dreamed it up all night I kept dreaming that when I went to book it wouldn’t let me sleep deprived

Just two adults, Dec 8-15 at Pop Century. I booked a standard room yesterday, but wouldn't really be upset if they made us change to a more expensive room.

Thanks! :)
