Your breakfast tips

hi everyone,
I'm looking for some good breakfast tips to organise our own breakfasts.
We're staying at BWV (a 2 bedroom)

* Is there a good oven in the villas which we can use to bake our own croissants?
* In Europe we have these 'croissants in a tin', which is actually dough in a tin, which you roll out and bake in the oven. Are there similar products in the US and if so, which brand would you recommend? Or are there other prepacked croissants/baguettes which are good?

I know we could go to Epcot France, Les Halles, but it only seems to open at 9 am, and i need a solution for the days we're going to MK, HS or AK. My kids basically tend to eat one croissant, so i guess that's the most important thing we're after :-)

There is a full sized stove with an oven in the 1 and 2 bedrooms, pots and pans and utensils too, also a full size fridge and dishwasher. We have a similar item available here Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. They are small but similar to what you are describing. I don't know if they're available at the resort shops. If you have a car there's a Winn Dixie on SR 535 -Apopka Vineland Road, which is easy to get to from the Disney Springs area. You could also take a cab or uber to get there.

We usually just toast bagels and cr cheese, but we've been known to do a full fried breakfast with eggs/sausage/bacon etc. The utensils are all available. You might want to bring a small electric kettle if you like your tea, they won't have one.

that's a great tip!! i never heard of Winn Dixie. I just looked them up and it seems they can also do grocery shopping for you. Have you ever used them? How does it work?

The Boardwalk Bakery is open earlier. 6am or 7am? Not for sure, but you can check on-line to confirm. They have muffins and croissants there, among other things.

We might do toasted English muffins with a slice of cheese and a Jimmy Dean sausage pattie (heated up). Makes a nice breakfast sandwich.

My big tip if I am eating in the room is to 1. Garden Grocer delivery to your room. I order the whole wheat muffin sandwich Delights. They are easy and fast. I can eat on the way to rope drop.
2. Bring a Banana. Yum nutrition
3. If you are going to go to the Animal Kingdom get your breakfast at Satuli Canteen. OMG so good.
4 Coffee and Croissant is delicious and simple.

We did Amazon Now last trip, which worked fine. Kitchens are decent. We almost always do eggs in the morning. Yogurt and fruit is usually good. I'd skip Pillsbury Crescent Rolls - crescent rolls and croissants bear and slight resemblance to each other at best (the recipes are wildly different, I've made both from scratch - I've never seen croissants sold as anything other than prebaked in the U.S.). When staying at the Boardwalk, we have been known to get breakfast pastries the night before at the bakery. Remember, you'll want to have coffee or tea.

You could also use a grocery delivery service. We use Safeway, but there are others like Garden Grocer. We've never had a problem with Safeway.

There are a ton of delivery services to WDW for groceries. Garden Grocer, Walmart, Publix, Amazon, Winn Dixie. You can literally get almost anything you want/need from one or all of these services. It will save you time and money by eating in your villa. The only thing they really don't have is a slow cooker or crock pot.
There are usually BBQ grills available at the DVC resorts as well so you ca grill out if you prefer so don't think you must limit to breakfast.
Enjoy.

We are huge fans of Les Halles (especially my teenagers) and when we are staying nearby, either BCV or BWV, we often buy croissants, baguettes and other pastries the afternoon/night before and freshen them in the oven for breakfast the next morning.

Sorry I've never used any shopping service. Just do it myself, lots of others have used various services though.

I would skip eating croissants in the US. I've had some decent ones - but for every good one I've had 100 that were mediocre or bad. The pre-baked ones at the grocery stores are not horrible - but they are nothing like real croissants rolled out and freshly baked with tons of layers of buttered dough.

The only really good croissants we get is a frozen product at the Restaurant Depot...and its from France. SO GOOD. You let it sit out and rise for a couple of hours before baking, more planning and work, but worth it. However you need a business license to get in.

But otherwise good dough is hard to come by in the States. Trader Joe's has a frozen dough product that isn't bad, its 4 to a box. But we usually head to Costco or Whole Foods and get the already baked croissants and reheat them before eating. when they've cooled a bit, they are crispy on the outside and delicious. They both have decent baked goods if not the same quality as in Europe. I would not go to Walmart for baked goods if you are use to European quality.

and yes, there are ovens in units w kitchens.

If you are dedicated to croissants-Trader Joes sells fabulous frozen ones that you let rise over night. Plain or almond or chocolate. Is there a TJs nearby?
Trader Joe's has really good frozen products, perfect for meals or snacks. There is a Trader Joes near Disney. will have to google it.

Crescent rolls are not croissants...there is no butter in them. :(

I was going to suggest this. You can pop the baked good in the freezer overnight to maintain freshness.
