Planning for 2019

Yea! Welcome everyone! Yes 2019 is right around the corner it's insane! I haven't done much planning; I did let the family know but got remarks about the price & moving it to 2020 so we will see what happens.

What is the crowd difference? Is it the volume or the behavior? Please tell! :)

The volume!!! It is crazy!!! And I guess with the increase in volume you also get an increase in rude behavior! I was also amazed by that on our last trip. Adults pushing and crowding in front of my little girls to watch a parade we had been waiting for etc.

Anyone try to book the room only for 2019 in the past day or 2? Disney told me reservations are down for 2019 and to call back in a few days

I called back and got through, that’s a good question.... if they release the rates now, that would be really early. We booked the grand Floridian ...the only reason we do it early (it’s actually not that early, it’s about 10 1/2 months away) is to help with budgeting, not to secure a hard to get a room... Believe it or not, it’s took 45 minutes because they couldn’t even get the reservation number to come up online so she had to call tech-support . She said that they are working on 2019 right now so it’s a possibility.

We just returned and I’m ready to plan 2019. Looking at September so that we can do a Halloweeen party.
We just got back too:sad: and are also in full planning mode already looking at September 2019. I can’t wait to book. We are looking at September 15-25. We never wait that long in between trips, but we splurged wit APs last year and squeezed 3 trips in. Now I must suffer a 17 month wait:sad:

I'm looking to book 2 rooms for April 2019 and get the amount so I can budget and start saving accordingly. If room prices don't come out until June/July of the preceding year - how will they not give me a total amount? Or does this just "hold" rooms for you and the amount gets updated when prices come out?

You can only reserve rooms (not packages) and they will just charge you the cost of one night at the highest rate for this year. They dont know what next years prices will be. When packages/prices come out, you can call and adjust accordingly. It still helps I guess to reserve the room to get an idea of the cost of the room at least. And it gets you started on paying.

we go Dec 2018 and are hoping for a BB for November 2019. I’m not sure how far bb are offered for but hopefully we can make it work!

I'm going to try and take advantage of my first bounce back offer when I go in January if it's available. I would love to go for Food & Wine or even Christmastime.

I am planning on early Sept. 2019. Went last year the week of Labor Day. After Labor Day , the rest of the week had low crowds. MNSSHP plus Food and Wine make fall my favorite time to go. This year going in May with my brother and his family - looking forward to checking out Flower and Garden . I will probably stay at one of the Port Orleans. I will see what has the best price when prices / discounts come it. (Seems like it will be forever until I know that )

I am planning on a trip for my 50th birthday in February 2019. It would be awesome if we can go! Our last trip (with my 7 year old daughter) was November, 2017. We stayed offsite at Bonnet Creek Resort. This time I want to stay on property and be immersed in Disney! Looking at reservations at Art of Animation.

Planning Feb 2019 hopefully. I’m leaning either Pop Century or POFQ depending on how pricing works out. First time spending a full week at Disney and first time planning.

Would late Sept 2019 be safe enough for Galaxy's Edge to have opened? We want to target free dining (if it still exists)

Seems like a crap shoot. I’ve seen some predictions of it opening in November. I’m intentionally trying to go early enough to avoid it I think. I want to let the crowds die down at least a little bit.

May change my mind though. Lol. I love Star Wars but I’m leery of the stories of it taking hours to just get into the Harry Potter sections of the park much less the actual ride at Universal. I’d rather wait for it to get past that phase.

When will we get the best idea of when it will be launching? Like how far out?

Also really hoping for a December '19 visit but it will be completely dependent on opening of SWGE. We want to be there to see it - even though we're nervous about crowds - but we only have the budget to go every few years so if we book a trip and it's not opened yet, we would have to wait a long time to actually get to see it.
