MAX Pass - fast pass and photos questions

We are two months out. We have a four day park hopper and I'm thinking about adding MAX PASS. It seems worth if. We are used to the WDW photopass process (have to buy at least 3 days prior to trip). How does MAX Pass work? It looks like I can't buy it in advance, only day off at the park. When we activate it, will all photopass photos show up immediately? Also, what attractions are available to schedule via MAX Pass? Thank you.

We just came back and I was the only one who added the max pass. You still have to add your tickets to the DL app, and add either the ride number photos or a photopass card to your account. I had trouble with the DL app - I couldn't get it to scan my ticket or my photopass. I had to go to guest services where we tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app with no luck; I had tried on wifi, without wifi, I was getting really frustrated. (My DH was able to link his ticket to the app with no issues.) I'm not sure how the CM was able to finally fix it, but eventually we got it going. I linked the photopass card to my photopass account and the pictures showed up eventually, but definitely not immediately. I also add my ride pictures via the photopass website and eventually was able to see them through the DL app.
The attractions that have it are Splash Mountain (which wasn't taking pictures when we rode :headache:), Space Mountain, Radiator Springs Racers, and Guardians of the Galaxy- I assume that the Incredicoaster will have it once it opens. I felt like there are way more CMs taking pictures at WDW than at DL in different spots, but I figure for $10 a day, even if i just get one picture per day it's still worth it.

Try asking this question in the trip planning forum: Disneyland (California). There are lots of MP threads there (do a search) with updated, recent information. You'll get plenty of good tips and advice there!
MP is basically a digital version of what was legacy (paper) FP at WDW. Paper (free) FP still exists at DLR, too, so you are not forced to buy MP unless you want to do so. If a ride is on the FP system, and not all rides are, then it is also on the MP system. The DLR website, the free paper maps at the turnstiles, and the free DLR app list which rides are on the FP system. MP includes PP, but you can also use free paper FP and purchase PP separately.
