DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Our next WDW trip is at the end of May, this is probably my roughest planning trip yet for a few reasons, 1- Our APs end 3 days before the trip so I will try to get it billed as late as possible :confused3 2- it's with extended family with 3 girls under the age of 5 and have to take naps :scared1:. 3 - not staying on property 4 - I'm not getting a good reading on what everyone wants to do also have 1 person 6m pregnant:scratchin. I have already told my son we may be taking a hasty retreat rather than a bad stand:goodvibes.. My agenda this time seems to be huge in HS, although Toy Story land will not be open, I have a few things I want to do, I'm not going to talk about them now (just incase I can't get to them) :thumbsup2

Sounds like quite the challenge...make the best of it, don't forget, if nothing else...you're at Disney :cool1:
Morning Guys.

This cold has knocked me out so I'm sitting at home watching Parking Wars, always entertaining.

Have a good one all.

Ugh, that's a stubborn cold, drink some whiskey while you watch TV...even if it doesn't help, you won't care too much

Hello gents! Quick fly by here but trust all are getting through the day alright.

Good luck with all that and part of me looks forward to planning around little ones again - these days I'm planning drinking around DaWorld. Remember, no matter how things go you are at DaWorld so beats being in the office - enjoy!
Morning Guys.

This cold has knocked me out so I'm sitting at home watching Parking Wars, always entertaining.

Have a good one all.
Hope ya feel better.

Happy Tuesday. More rain here. DW has curbed her enthusiasm on condo, despite meeting someone who does property management in the area we are considering. I just can't get her out of KY.

Sorry for the lack of visiting, two weeks on the road working 18 hour days tends to do that. Took more naps this weekend than I’ve taken in total for the year. Way to backed up to catch up but skimmed through to make sure most isn’t good, if I missed something prayers to those needed them. Hope all have been enjoying life and the family, cheers, bacon, dole whips and prayers to any that need any of the above.

That's a lot of working. Glad all is well.

The challenges of planning with other families. Good luck.

Morning Guys.

I enjoyed that show. Sad how they go to the tow lot and forget to bring insurance card or other stuff like that.

Technically you are right Norm. However, it is my mother's recipe and that is what she called it. Out of deference to her, I do the same.
.

My mom said Cheerios was healthy because the box said so. As you said, don't argue with mom.

'Morning... errrr... I mean, g'afternoon all.
Three hours sleep = bad start on the day.
I hate when I can't get my brain to shut-down and take a break.
Especially when I mulling over stuff I can't necessarily do anything about.
Trying to stay busy now so I that won't have time to think.
(not really working though, so it may be time for booze).

I've had too many of those vacations where we can back and need another vacation. And yes, the only time I found decent to drive thru Atlanta was 1:00 AM, but that sure makes it a long day. While initially disappointed I couldn't get that Vero Beach condo, one in Destin means never driving thru Atlanta. Don't know if Alabama cities are that much better, or will be better in 20 years, but it's still not Atlanta.
Nearly anything has got to be better than Hot'lanta driving.
Traveling through 'Bamma was pretty much a breeze for us.
We drove I-85, I-65 and I-10 up and down through there with nary a worry.

Sounds like a good time was had by all. I love eating in NOLA.
That it was. And we found that you had to work real hard to find any type of diner that wasn't some seriously good eating.

Sorry for the lack of visiting, two weeks on the road working 18 hour days tends to do that.
Not to worry...
Work kept me off the boards for near three months.
You'll be back to something resembling normal soon enough, I imagine.

That's a lot of wrenches to have to pull out of the gears.
This one will take every bit of your planning skills to figure out.
(but I'd be willing to bet on you being able to pull it off)

This cold has knocked me out so I'm sitting at home watching Parking Wars, always entertaining.
I'd like to be sitting at home sleeping through just about anything on the tube right now.
May you get to healing up in the very near.

I blame the rain...

Well, that and the thought of leaving family.
Regardless of how nuts they make us, some folks just can't see moving any real distance.
(I know that's one of the reasons I can't get any agreement of potential relocation)

Thanks for the support Guys:worship:, I can't help but fell like Arnold in Kindergarten Cop:rotfl2:, Although I will be with the little ones for the 1st time big stuff:goodvibes, I will break off with the older kids for the Cool stuff :thumbsup2. My son and a few others are no way being part of any Princess Dinner or M & G, hey somebody's got to be in charge of this group :scratchin

We have a unwanted visiter in my house:scared1:. Related to but it's not Mickey:eek:. It may be a friend of one of the critter's in CJ's yard:rotfl2:There were at least 2 of them (caught one the other day):thumbsup2 but I know there is at least 1 more and it is smart, right now in my kitchen I have 11 traps set, it has been around because it left it's dropping calling card to let me know it's been here:mad:. Little does it know I am now in Carl Spackler mode:rolleyes1:lmao:

Not acceptable. Keep the dream alive, Norm!

Nearly anything has got to be better than Hot'lanta driving.

Agreed. Just once for me, and that was a miserable experience.

Morning Guys,

thanks for all the well wishes yesterday, they must have worked because I am back at work today. I think that's a good thing.

Spring is still here, warm temps and rain forecast for the day.

Have a good one all.

This was me the past couple of days too: missed two days of work, though "I wouldn't say I've been missing it, Bob." Spent a lot of time playing games with my girls since the wife picked up substitute teaching shifts both days. Glad we're both feeling better!

Hello gents, well it's been a busy time for me again, both at work and at home. Youngest DD had her second of four dance competitions this past weekend. DW made it for part of it, but I didn't get to see it. I was preoccupied with oldest DDs high school graduation weekend (in most other places you would call it Prom, here we call it Grad). Leading up to this, myself and a group of parents have been busy preparing for "Safe Grad", which is a drug & alcohol free night at the school, after the formal prom. Our group took one of the classrooms and transformed it into a room based on the TV show Survivor (I think @pkondz watches that show, not sure if anyone else). It was a lot of work over the last few months making all the props and decoration. Then Thursday we packed it all up from our storage warehouse/workshop and moved it into the school gym. Friday was the big decorating day - removing all the desks, decorating the classroom walls, putting out all our props and games. Saturday was the big day and my memory up to the evening was just a barrage of curling irons, make-up utensils, and camera clicks. But I was very proud of my step-daughter on her graduation day so I guess it was all worth it. The night at Safe Grad went off well, we had over 100 kids come in and play our Survivor games. I left the school at 4:30am It's been many years since I stayed up that late, especially without alcohol involved. Anyway, I thought I would share a few pictures of it all.

Yep. I watch Survivor. :)
The decorations are really impressive and your daughter looks beautiful. I’m sure you’re super proud.

Not been here lately. Busy visiting California and catching up now. Should be back reading here soon.
Prayers, pixie dust, congrats where needed!

Fantastic pic of the two of you.

The Survivor stuff looks great.

When does your school year end? I thought it was similar to here with the high school finishing mid June followed by Prom and the graduation ceremonies.

Happy Wednesday. Been around people who sound like they are eating rocks and glass when then chew? I call it slop-hogging. Homicide may be frowned upon, but if i record this, then I'll be easily acquitted. :furious:

It was looking so hopeful. Well, maybe I'll bring up the conversation again in the fall. Sadly, I'm afraid you are correct - family ties keeping her there - even though she says it isn't.

Not acceptable. Keep the dream alive, Norm!
.

That dream is hanging on by a thread.

Good work decorating and having a fun and safe environment for her and her friends.

Rain has stopped so I'm firing up the grill to cook the chicken. i was going to do it in the oven but held off until the weather changed. Made some lemonade and will have potato salad for the side.

You got Skills and can do this.

Keep plugging away. Good luck.

Fellow sufferer, I feel your pain.

That is good news.

47 days to WDW...

In the meantime, it's finally starting to act a little like spring, and campgrounds all over Ohio are opening up, so this weekend we'll be helping to wake up Yogi Bear for the camping season in our little Scotty:

I always though about getting an RV and just hitting the road. Enjoy the camping and may the countdown clock speed up.

Also am a Survivor fan (on tonight) and the decorations look authentic. Dad of the year right there. Congratulations to both DD's. Does the oldest have any post graduation plans?

Not been here lately. Busy visiting California and catching up now.

Hit the Happiest place?

Hey guys. Hope all are doing well. Been a bit crazy around here, just gave my notice at work, taking on a new role at a new company - bigger job, but a lot more risk and uncertainty. Freaking out a bit, but I'll get through. Could use thoughts/prayers if you have any lying around.
