2018 Free Dining Watch Thread V3

Thanks everyone for the great info! This has been awesome. Just was wondering, I’m going with a group of friends we need two rooms. Is there a way to book two at once? Or will we need two separate reservations? Thanks again!

How do you get these PIN codes?
no one knows. I got them for years, then they stopped in 2013. My daughter got one in 2013 that she did not know she had until I called checking on my account and asked the CM check her name; she had one for FD that we used at POFQ.

daughter continued to get them for a few more years and then they stopped. We booked through a TA in 2016. I started getting PINS (UOC) again last year.

My son in law has gotten them in the US Mail and he has no Disney account of any kind.

one of the great mysteries....

3 questions: Anyone know when the construction at CBR is supposed to end? And does anyone know the dates for the NSSHP? And are park hoppers required, or can you do 1 park per day?

We are arriving Aug 17th but not sure if we should do the Universal portion of our trip at the beginning or the end? We're canadian so our promo might be okay to start on the 17th... regardless I have a question for the group.

We're planning 5 day park hoppers, family of 5- 4 disney adults and 1 child. Dates Aug 21st-Aug 30th. We love FDing-- not because we're big eaters but my kids are fussy. it's such a treat to go somewhere nice (like Boma) so we can all eat what we like and try to still get our intake of veggies which I find hard with QS meals.

Based on everyone's experience-- would it be more cost effective to book a moderate like CBR and upgrade the dining or spring for a deluxe like Beach Club? When I am costing it out, I found that perhaps it's an extra $100/nite for deluxe compared to CBR + dining upgrade. To me, that is worth it because I am not thrilled with the look of CBR yet.

We have only stayed at moderates... we're not too fussy.. but the idea of something like the Beach club, being close to 2 parks and maybe having a little more room to roam in a studio really sounds appealing. i would even consider dropping a night to save some extra money if that means a deluxe.

What would you do? wrelp!
From reading your post, it sounds like you would really like to do the Beach Club. I’ve never stayed there or CBR, but we have stayed at each resort level & found that we do enjoy the upgrade to the deluxe resorts. It may not necessarily be the most cost effective, but being an elevator ride away from restaurants we enjoy and will definitely visit anyway is a perk to us. The additional space in the room & the balcony also help my family of 4 “Disney adults” feel that we can spread out a bit more. (And while you’re considering your options..that Beach Club pool has always looked amazing!) All that being said, we’ve also been perfectly content at a moderate. For me personally, given the choice between a trip of the same length at a mod or a deluxe, I will usually go with deluxe. However, if it’s a shorter trip at a deluxe vs. a longer trip at a mod, I’m going to be tempted to say mod. These are just my thoughts; I’m sure you’ll pick what works best for your family!:)

We got one of these as well. However, they were not good on AKL CL rooms. :confused3

When I called (within 3 minutes of receiving the PIN email) the CM told me that in the 20 years she has been working at Disney, she has NEVER seen it NOT include CL rooms. :guilty: Great, the one year we get a decent PIN code, then we can't use it.

~D

I wonder if that is because of the ability to pay for extra FP when booking CL. If there was a discount on the room, that would make paying for those extras a little easier. But, really, who knows why Disney does what they do.

I know originally they predicted this fall for conclusion, but I don't see that happening. Haven't kept up with it. I'm sure if you go to the CBR page over on the Resort board, someone will have some information.

As to MNSSHP dates, here ya go: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/e...y-halloween-party/#/drawer=drawerWhenToAttend

This will be my family's first disney trip. I've noticed that the dates for Nov are the 24th - 27th. We are going Nov 19th - 25th. Does this mean we do not qualify? We are staying at AKL and have 6 day park hopper. Thanks for any help

Sorry, but yes it does. You COULD do a split stay of Nov 19-24 and then one night 24th and have free dining for that one night, but it's probably not worth it. Wait for the room discounts to come out in late June/July and see if your dates are included then.

online we cant book two rooms in one reservation... its really hard to do it on phone at least initial days.. my suggestion first book online 2 separate reservations and than call disney when lines are available..
this way atleast you will have FD

Thank you. I will keep an eye out for the room discounts

Seems like most people on here have already made their reservations and are just planning on modifying in the morning? I’ve been trying to hold off booking to not contribute to the appearance of rooms being filled ahead of the promotion but now I’m questioning this and thinking I should just go ahead and book now so that all I have to do in the morning is add the promotion?

Your check in date must be within the offer days. A split stay won't work either since a 3 night minimum is required.
