Hi there ,

Im writing to see if anyone else has had this experience and maybe there is still hope it will show up .

We were in Aulani for about a week , and the night before we left my daughter noticed her blanket was missing: the maids had accidentally grabbed her blankie she has had for yearrrrrrs and took it : we have called a dozen times , called claims , house keeping and lost and found . And nothing so far , It blows my mind that it hasnt turned up yet , really frustrating and sad for my daughter. She checks the mail every day to see if has come in ..... ughhhh

I am so sorry. We went through this with my 5 year old’s lovey on Disney Cruise line. It was gone and sadly they never found it. I called and called. Filed claims etc. He’s 10 now and still talks about it. . I hope you have a different outcome then we did. So sad.

We have learned the hard way not leave anything on the bed when they come to clean. DS has lost a couple of very loved stuffed animals that way, and we never found them again:(

I don't understand how it can not be found. It has to be somewhere. They do have to go through every piece of laundry to fold them, etc. Unless they use an outside company, I would imagine someone would have seen it.

Same. We put stuffed animals and blankets we bring from home in the drawers every morning so they won't get lost. My son lost a stuffed puppy when he was 4 in a hotel. Devastated him. He still talks about losing that dog and he is almost 14.

My kids still travel with one stuffed animal and my younger son brings along a plush Mickey throw blanket from home to use in hotels, because he likes the softness of it...hotels never have soft blankets and he is very tactile oriented and will stroke the blanket as he falls asleep at night to help himself relax. They are very good about putting the stuff in the drawers every morning.

I am a bit shocked that this would happen on the cruise line. They do their own linens, I imagine. Where could it possibly go?

Did you not notice until you got home? I would imagine the sooner you report it missing, the better the chance of it being recovered. Especially if you're there and can talk to someone in person. I would guess that they came across it in the laundry and discarded it, but will keep my fingers crossed for you!

I think you are out of luck. I left a white denim jacket at the breakfast table on the last day of a Disney cruise. Realized it later that day and called/emailed immediately. I even told them the table number we were at and the waiters we had that morning. No one ever turned it in. Disney claimed that once the ship had sailed they couldn't contact lost and found. Yes, seriously. At one point they simply stopped answering my emails. I assume that some female crew member or family member of a crew member is enjoying my white denim jacket.

We had this happen to us at the Disneyland Hotel, but instead of a blanket or lovey, it was an entire bag of cloth diapers! They were never found and we were issued a credit for the missing diapers (since we used a diaper service and we would be charged for the missing diapers). I honestly don't think they even looked. I think the bag was thrown away, which I don't really get why since it was no where near a garbage can nor did it look like a typical garbage bag.

I am sorry to hear about her blanket. Both my boys have lovies that they would be devastated to lose. Have you looked on Ebay for a replacement? I know its not the same, but it might help. Good luck!

We love Aulani, but have not had good luck with their lost and found. I lost "the perfect black sweater" a couple of years ago, and although I filled out all the forms and called and called, it never turned up. Same with a camera we left in the pool area. Never saw it again. I find WDW's lost and found to be much more efficient.

I'm very sorry to see this happen to you. I have stayed at Aulani twice, and on my last trip I left a pair of sunglasses on the table in our studio. Mind you, I noticed within an hour of leaving, and immediately went down to Lost and Found and was told "they found nothing" - aka for they found their way into the trash. :sad2: So much for "magical" Mousekeeping.

Putting on my flame proof suit here, but if you misplace something the first bad is on you, not on housekeeping. And yes, I have lost stuff during a Disney trip, and I only blame myself.

But if it's left in the room, that's not misplaced. But I also think it would be the same at any other hotel; I think we just get used to Disney being a step above and notice it more when it's not.
