So back from dinner and walk across the street to Sobeys. I am glad it is so close. The cashiers knew about the situation, IT is 2 different promos, and each one gets 150am. The MM might post later. I do have to go back Sunday am when the manager is in and she can post my AM that did not get on the first 4 cards. I did purchase a 5th card and the 150 showed up there. I do not expect an additional 150 on that card as mm is only 4 cards.
On the other note, I was not able to purchase a shell card with my Sobeys card. Cant get them all.

Am I able to get Child Place gift cards using the Sobeys gift cards as the fine prints say corporate gift cards (grocery, fuel and liquor) are not allowed or prohibited by law?

I hate not knowing by looking at my receipt that the coupons actually worked!
I used both at Children's Place (and I know only one counts towards my 5 I need)- one I see the coupon code right on my receipt. The other I do not.
I used the Shell one today (25L fill up). All I can see on m receipt is where he scanned my AM card. He had a laminated copy of the coupon and when I tried to give him mine he said I don't need it, I have one here I can scan. So I assume he did it. But my receipt doesn't show anything.
And, I used my Sobey's one- and I do actually see the bonus miles on that receipt.
Two more to go!
Plan to use the NSLC one and the Needs one (doesn't start until next week).
Don't think I'll get 4 fill ups of 20L or more in the next month so I can try to get that one but we will see.

I'm so late to this party... but I'm just getting into collecting my Airmiles!! The only place in town that I could collect them is at the Shell, which I don't usually go to. But if I go to the city, I could totally get gift cards for Sobeys and the other grocery stores! My boyfriend prefers to grocery shop at Sobeys, so no loss there! Although he would think this is a total waste of time, I disagree! I would just like to clarify that if it doesn't say in the fine print that gift cards are excluded, they are fair game?? I was reading one earlier and it specified X dollars of "grocery" items before tax??

I don't ever let them use their own coupons, lol. You just never know what they are using.

With your words in mind I am going to drag myself back downtown today and see if I can't get them to make it right and post the 150x4 AM I should have received for the instore promotion. The MM coupon AM I will wait and see if they post later.

Just checked my Shell receipt. Cashier scanned my Mega Miles coupon and it shows "PROMO 940" under the amount of gas I purchased. It also shows "Total Miles Received this visit: 11" and near the bottom on my receipt it says "** 10 Bonus Miles - Mega Miles fuel bonus"

I always make sure that the cashier scans my coupon because I never trust that it is the same one.

That's great if they do award the extra miles but people have been reporting that they contacted Air Miles and they said that it is the same promotion so only 150 AM per $150 gift card, the only difference is if you use the coupon it counts towards the Mega Miles promotion.

Most of the MegaMiles offers exclude gift card purchases. The only exception that I know of is the Sobeys GC promo which ends today.

I did last night I bought a 25 children place card using one of the sobeys gift cards I bought as part of the 150 or 300 pts deal. This still gave me the 35 AM from the flyer. This was in Ottawa

I did this Friday with my $150 Sobeys giftcard. Bought a $100 Shell card and 2 $25 giftcards for Children’s Place. Got the 70 Miles for the Children’s Place and then used them for the spend $50 offer on Friday night and those 22 Miles posted today. Used the $100 Shell giftcard to buy giftcards at Shell and got another 100 Miles. 342 Miles for 1 $150 Sobeys giftcard.

We have done the Shell deal twice and can see the coupon on our receipt. I wouldn’t trust his laminated coupon.

It sounds like I'm heading back with my receipt. Although I have a feeling they won't fix it for me.
I wish staff were much more knowledgeable about the deals. He also told me he thought it could only be done once. I told him the back says up to 6 times. LOL

Actually, I wonder if there is a difference because my receipt for the gas actually shows up under a receipt from Sobeys Express. It's Shell gas but you pay inside the Sobeys Express. ??? SO CONFUSED!!! ????

Nope.

Today, I walked in and bought another Sobeys giftcard and then went and did some shopping. Grabbed about $40 worth of back to school lunch stuff and a $100 Shell giftcard with the card I purchased when I walked in.
