Parking charge at wdw hotels

Under EU law, the quoted price for hotels, flight etc has to include all taxes and service charges. So the big travel agencies that have printed brochures etc will have contracts that preclude Disney adding extra charges mid contract so that their advertising material does not fall foul of EU law. Consequently, their customers may get a pass on these parking charges until the current contract ends (or we leave the EU...). The Disney UK site is on-line only so they can impose the charges presumably. This may mean that for the next year it may be considerably cheaper for UK residents to book via a travel agent and avoid the parking charges -- unless Disney UK introduces some very good deals to overcome this.

Nicely put, there is alot of confusion over this across the internet.

UK Travel agents (ignore Disney UK) are selling packages up to Dec 2019 therefore they will have already signed up to terms with Disney, so packages for those dates will not be affected. I expect Virgin, Thomas Cook and Thompson to get some extra bookings over the next 18 months,

i went into Disney.uk and it clearly states that bookings made after march 21, 2018 will be liable for the new fee.

however, it doesn't matter. Either way, they have gone too far.
I have a booking for this summer, which is clearly not affected since it was booked in September 2017.

Nevertheless, i am going to call on monday to cancel it and then send my cancellation confirmation to the powers that be (using the bigwig emails that were posted on another board) stating that while this reservation wasn't affected, they have gone too far and i'm done with them.

i know they won't care, but i'll feel better.

.

Beth, you have a disability badge, so you won't be charged for parking at SSR no matter what or when

Disney has confirmed this

so even if the 2020 for UK booking is not what's displayed at the moment, your disability badge still gets you free parking (self and valet)

non-US disability badges are not acceptable in florida...
so no...i wouldn't..

but in any case, my son also rents a car...

besides, it's the principle...

i have a reservation for august that is unaffected by the new fee...
i don't care.....i'm cancelling it regardless...

I understand your feelings.

regarding the disability badge, you can get a Red Florida Tag from Orange County tax office for $14.

Easy as pie, I order one for each trip, take 10 days through the mail. I received mine for next trip a few days ago.
Procedure is detailed on the DISability board

on the website it says you can only get one in person, not by mail..

that is you are required to visit a local tax office (DMV) to obtain it in person...not exactly something anyone in their right mind would want to do on holiday since those offices are notorious for long obnoxious lines...

do you have a different link?

the badges used to be issued by Osceola County but they stopped, and only deliver in person

Orange County does it, even though they state they only serve Orange County residents, but I had no issue ordering mine

email George Woody at Orange County tax.
the permit is valid for 3 months (end of month), so do not email more than 2 months before departure.
for example if you need the permit for August 1st to August 15th, you will get a permit that's valid until August 31st, so you can't request a permit before June 1st (3 months before the end of the month you return to the UK)

gwoody@octaxcol.com

you will need to provide attach :

- the Disabled Person's passport scan (full bio page)
- UK blue badge scan (front AND back)
- the application form you can download from http://www.flhsmv.gov/dmv/forms/BTR/83039.pdf taken from that page http://www.octaxcol.com/disabled-parking-placards/
only fill top part of form, and enter "Non-US" under "Current Disabled Parking Permit Number" and "Florida Driver License or Florida ID Number"

sign the form, and just fill the line below the top part :
PHYSICIAN/CERTIFYING PRACTITIONER'S STATEMENT OF CERTIFICATION (See Warning Below)
TEMPORARY PERMIT: and input your travel dates

you'll receive confirmation of the acceptance of your documents and a phone number to call to process payment (do not provide CC number via email, they are public records in Florida)
once payment is made by phone, you receive the permit in roughly 7 working days.
