***Official Super December 2018 Thread***

Has anyone started their ADR list yet? What are you hoping to nail down? Since I've been having pregnancy insomnia :-)headache::headache::headache:), my mind tends to go a million miles an hour and last night I think I nailed down the details. (the Disney portion that is)

Sat Dec 1st - Check out of the Aventura at Universal (~10am ish? I want the girls to sleep in if possible! We'll have an easy breakfast before driving over to Disney property.) Arrive at AOA around lunch time. Eat some lunch if hungry. Now, because this is a Saturday the parks will be packed. I'm thinking of having an early dinner at Disney Springs OR going to a resort for dinner (Boma?) If we are all feeling up to it, maybe we'll head for MK for fireworks? I'm leaving this day fairly open not knowing how we'll be.

Sun Dec 2nd - Depending on the previous night, I'm hoping to RD Hollywood Studios and head for Toy Story Land. I know we could easily spend 4+ hours here. I'm hoping for a lunch at Hollywood and Vine. This will be a MVMCP day so we may do it this day as well. If we get tickets for this day, then we will not RD Hollywood Studios. We'll spend the day by the pool (weather permitting) and head for MK around 4pm.

Mon Dec 3rd - Sleep in if MVMCP night before, if not, we'll RD Animal Kingdom. Last year AK had morning EMH. We'll hopefully have a breakfast at Tusker House. After an afternoon nap/swim, we'll head back for Rivers of Light. We have never seen it. :)

Tue Dec 4th - RD Magic Kingdom! Hoping for a breakfast or lunch at CRT. Evening will be spent in Epcot. We're hoping for another yummy dinner at Rose and Crown. If we decide to do MVMCP on Sunday Dec 2nd, then we'll potentially move HS to this date.

..... and that's as far as I got....

We will be there Dec 1-11th. I love the planning portion but it's also exhausting!

No idea  FIL has requested Chef Mickeys and Tony's. Since we're staying at the Poly, I'd like to do an Ohana dinner too!

Has anyone started their ADR list yet? What are you hoping to nail down?

YES!!!

We were originally planning to go in early September so we already had a working list:

1900 PF dinner
Sci-Fi dinner
Chefs de France dinner
HDDR
BOG lunch
Kona Café Breakfast
Cape May Café dinner
Teppan Edo dinner
Sanaa lunch
Crystal Palace Breakfast

Still need 2 more meals, waiting on the older kids to make up their minds!

Has anyone started their ADR list yet?

Me me me me!! lol

We are planning on the following so far...we think:

Boma (breakfast)
Boma (dinner)
1900 Park Fare (breakfast)
Ohana (dinner)
Garden Grill (breakfast)
Sci-Fi (dinner)
Whispering Canyon Cafe (dinner)

We can't decide if we want a sit down dinner at EP or if we just want to try various foods at the different countries. And we haven't decided where we want to eat on our DS night yet, either.

On our last trip we ate breakfast at Boma, breakfast at Ohana, and dinner at WCC. The other restaurants will be new to us along with dinner at Boma and dinner at Ohana.

We ate at Cape May Cafe for breakfast last time and it was really good and the character interaction was good if anyone is thinking about it.

Have you eaten at Raglan Rd before? I have been looking at that one for our DS night, but I'm not sure. I can't decide if I want to do a sit down or just a quick service. This will be our third time to Disney, but our first time visiting DS.

Hi!! I’m happy to be joining the planning fun in here with all of you!:goodvibes

Dh and I just officially decided on a December 2018 trip yesterday. We’ve stayed onsite many times (10 or 11 maybe?) but we think this will be an offsite trip. We love Bonnet Creek and you can’t beat 2 bedrooms/bathrooms and a full kitchen for our group. We are at an odd stage where our group just doesn’t work in one room. It’s myself and Dh, and my DS14, DD21 and her boyfriend21. Other than getting two rooms I really can’t make that configuration work, so Bonnet Creek seems like the perfect compromise.

I think our dates are December 7th to the 16th. Right now we are trying to decide if we will fly or drive. We just may consider moving onsite into two rooms if they offer free dining for our dates, and even then I don’t know if it would work.

I’m hoping we will attend MVMCP, as we have been twice before and I just LOVE it. I am an absolute Christmas nut. Combining Disney, Christmas and family is the perfect trip for me, and I am going to have so much fun planning with you all!:santa:

Yes, 2 years ago. It was a Saturday night so our wait to get in and to be seated was extremely long. The food, staff and entertainment was fantastic. There was 10 of us, so we were sat at a booth behind the stage and our waiter told us to get up and watch. My youngest DD was one of the kids picked to dance on stage. She is special needs and even the dancers were so kind and watchful of her. It was a great night! I would recommend it.

Just booked last week December 17-23 my daughter 18 has never been at Christmas and this will be the first time we could work it out. We are currently at POR where we always stay, but are thinking of changing to POP to have more money to spend on Christmas Party, etc. We have never gone without the rest of the family. It will be a new experience, since I am 60 now, I am not looking forward to the 10 hour drive, but are looking forward to some time with my daughter.

Joining the December thread because our trip is booked Dec 11-19 AKL Kidani Villages. We are doing a split stay staring at US Loews Pacific. I purchased my tickets from UCT b4 the price hikes. Only thing left is plane tickets and waiting for my ADR window.

We have had the dining plan in past but this time we are doing dining OOP

Some thoughts and rough draft on dining options

Hoop Dee Doo (this is a must this trip)
Saana (a first for lunch maybe)
Cali Grill (must do)
Via Napoli (first time)
Tusker House. (First time breakfast)
Momma Melrose (a favorite)
Sci Fi Drive In (maybe for lunch)
Columbia Harbo House (a fave QS)
Pecos Bills (Lunch)
Skippers Canteen

This is a short list and looks full. Still working out what exactly I want to do park wise each day and then will nail down options better. We are in a 1 BR villa this trip and we will eat some there too

Quick update on our trip. We will be staying at Coronado Springs, which we booked on a bounce back offer. This will be our first time staying at a moderate so not sure what to expect, we've only stayed at deluxe before. We also purchased a 3 day ticket with park hopper through working advantage before they uped the ticket prices to reflect the increase.

Count us officially IN for December! We will be completing a bucket-list item of spending NYE at MK. I know, we're probably crazy, but I want to do it at least once :)

And we haven't seen the new Avatar stuff at AK, so that is the other priority for the trip. DH is a bit of a deluxe-snob when it comes to hotels, so he has convinced me to do a split stay between AKL and Contemporary. Obviously, staying at AKL lodge for the nights on either side of our day at AK, and Contemporary for New Years for easy access to MK.

So... the exact dates are 12/28-30: AKL, and 12/30-1/2: Contemporary.

I already have a rough plan in mind (Ok, I MAY have made touring plans already, but just as a guide to establish expectations, knowing that it will be crazy-busy) And I have most of our ADRs in my head as well. DH is also a food-snob (seeing a trend??) and mostly refuses to eat CS, so we always have a LOT of them. Will probably make last-minute ADRs for any meals not already planned.

12/28: Arrive & hang out at AKL, Dinner: Jiko
12/29: AK, Breakfast - Boma, Lunch - Tiffins, Dinner - Y&Y
12/30: Rest day, transfer to Contemporary, Dinner - Cali Grill??
12/31: MK, Breakfast - BOG, Lunch - LTT, Dinner - Tony's
1/1: Sleep all morning after being out past midnight (lol), Water sports on Bay Lake, Dinner - Ohana??
1/2: Head home, Breakfast - Chef Mickey's, maybe a water park if it's warm, or mini-golf

We currently have 14 days (each) left on NE tickets, which I am trying to stretch out as long as possible. So really need to avoid the temptation to head to another park on one of our down days. It will be easy to skip DHS this time because we want to wait for Star Wars Land, but Epcot is my favorite. Must resist, lol!

So far my thoughts are to book a BOG lunch.

Christmas Eve - Biergarten
Christmas Day - LTT
New Years Eve - a couple of restaurants at Epcot....maybe Rose and Crown, San Angel Inn, or Via Napoli

Working on ADR's now.. trying to trim them down, Last Sept we had too many and had to cancel more than one...

Tusker Jouse is like a top 2 or 3 breakfast place in all of Disney property. Love everything about it. The theming, the food and great character interaction. And I saw that you mentioned Hollywood & Vine as well. They have a pretty good breakfast spread too. AND... there is 1 thing that I love there. Years ago, Port Orleans Riverside's, Boatwright's used to serve breakfast. And they used to have this deep fried, cinnamon/sugar covered french toast-like ball, that was just incredible. When they announced Boatwright's was only doing dinners, I was sad. Until we booked a H&V breakfast, and there it was, in all its glory. And like Walt used to say, they "plus"ed it. Now, you can have this deep fried piece of heaven, that can now be combined with maple syrup, chocolate sauce or strawberry sauce.

It's hard because I like to eat everywhere! Haha! This trip, I believe, will be all about character dining for us.

Hi everyone. Just bought more DVC points, so I just booked our first Christmas time trip! We are staying AKV December 13-18. Myself, DD12, and my mom. They don’t know yet keeping it a surprise.
