Celebration of Harry Potter

I had planned on going to Universal next weekend but saw it's a Harry Potter weekend - I don't care for the forum's but I'm not going to Universal in January to wait in hour long lines - does anyone know how the crowds are that weekend?

Some say they are highish but that wasn’t our experience. The people there for Celebration are off in convention style halls looking at costumes and having dueling lessons or meeting Natalie Teña. They aren’t necessarily in lines.

The consensus is that *generally* the areas outside of WWoHP aren't terribly crowded at all, but the HP areas and obviously the convention areas backstage have the big crowds.

Isn't the HP celebration only at US and not at IOA or is it at both parks? We are hitting IOA on Sunday and US on Monday next week.

Assuming it’s the same as years past, some panels will be at the Toon Lagoon theatre and some at the music plaza. The expos should be in soundstages accessed from Universal, near the Jimmy ride. So, IOA is not impacted as much unless you’re trying to walk through Toon Lagoon just after a panel is finished. Trying to switch parks right after a panel finishes is a nightmare too.
