Hotel/Express Pass Questions

We are taking our dd and her friend for a few nights to Universal before heading to WDW in July. We usually stay at WDW so these hotel choices and decisions at Universal are a little confusing to me. So far I have it narrowed down to 2 rooms at RPR which includes the express pass or the 2 bdrm suite at CBR (I hope I'm using the correct abbreviations)
The 2 bdrm suite is what I would prefer since we could all be together and it costs less but it doesn't include the EP.
Is the EP worth it?
Would you recommend getting the 2 bdrm CBR and look at adding EP once we get there or add it when I order tickets?
From what I can tell both stays would allow us early entry to the parks.
If you can think of any other tips feel free to add.
Thanks!

For me it would be a financial choice. July = express pass is a must. To me, at least.

What’s the cost of tickets plus unlimited express pass plus CBR versus tickets plus RPR rooms?

Remember that if you book room-only through the loewshotels site you can always go back to see if discounts have been released.

The down side to having 2 rooms at RPR is I need them close together. Do they do that?
I know it's not truthful but we would be putting the girls in one room and us in the other. They are in HS and very capable of being in a room not to mention it would be a little awkward sharing the room with my daughter's friend. So I'm wondering if just having us in the roomy CBR would eliminate that problem.
I was in sticker shock when I saw the cost of EP!!!

How long will you be staying? You will get EP for every day of your stay at RPR, unlimited express pass...including the day you check-in (even if your room isn't ready yet) as well as the day you check-out. So maybe you can do a split-stay?

You mentioned 2 rooms at RPR. would you consider all 3 of you sharing a room? Maybe for 1 night when you're at RPR to get EP for 2 days?

You could also book your entire stay at CBR and then book 1 night at RPR (not sleeping in it) with everyone under the reservation and you all can get the unlimited express pass for 2 days (check-in and check-out days).

Yes, you can request that and they will try to get them together. Just call and ask.

We have 3 adult daughters that will be staying in their own room for our Christmas trip. I didn't ask for the rooms to be near each other when I booked them. A few weeks ago, the AP rate improved, so I called to get the adjustment. The rep said, "Would you like me to add that you want these close together?" I said that was fine and now my booking shows, "Adjoining rooms requested (Rooms near one another)"

Prior to the daughters becoming adults, we stayed at RPR twice with them in their own room. No one ever asked and I'm sure they wouldn't have cared anyway. Both times, they put us in rooms across the hall from each other.

Great thank you! I feel better hearing that we shouldn't have a problem getting rooms close together.
I think after all things considered we will keep the 2 separate rooms so we can use the perk of having the express pass.

There is only one bathroom, a bedroom and a room with a kitchenette and pullout sofa.

Unless you choose the 2 bedroom suite

That is the room we were looking at which looks awesome but we are going to pass on the space and pick the express pass instead.
Thank you for your help :thanks:

That is pretty awesome. I had no idea there were larger rooms like that. Would be pretty perfect for my family.
