Priority Admission Pass- Any Experience?

Please excuse my crashing your thread - I'll be visiting HKDL next May and I'm leaning toward the Explorers Lodge rather than the Disneyland Hotel - any advice or comments regards these two hotels?

Thanks for the description of using the new perk!

I don't have any experience inside the rooms at the Explorer's Lodge, but we did walk over there to take a look at it. We VASTLY preferred the DLH. We thought the Explorer's Lodge looked cheap, at least from the public areas.

It's like a bonus Fast Pass, we used it for Big Grizzly. Our was originally supposed to be for the new Iron Man ride and I'm so glad we were able to use it on other things as that ride had no wait and my 10yo, 8yo and I HATED it.

And we have only stayed on site once but we loved DLH and would do it again if the opportunity presented itself.

If you haven't been before, expect to do Mystic Manor more than once,we have never waited more than 25 minutes but usually much shorter. Stand near the door in the back of the first room, you will still be able to see everything and will be first through the doors for the rest of the line after the video.

If it's hot, It's a Small World has tamarind air conditioning. Big Grizzly is great and I like Space Mountain more than WDW. Have fun!

Check out TDRexplorer for videos of the rooms of both. I really liked Explorers Lodge, it reminded me of a small aulani. It needs more quick serve/mid range dining options. We went to the Hollywood hotel for dinner one night where i think the restaurant selection is better.

My favorite part what their little communications guide they gave us told us that stuff in the room we could take (toiletries, tea, slippers, etc).

It’s about time to book my hotel stay for this August. I would like to confirm the number of Priority Admission passes given. For those fellow Dis’ers who have stayed more than one night, are you given Priority Admission passes based on the number of nights (e.g one set of passes for each night of stay) or based on the number of stay (i.e. only one set of passes for each hotel reservation depending on the room type)?

Thanks in advance!

I emailed the hotel before we arrived and they told me one set of passes per stay. However, when we checked in, they gave us passes per night.

In our stay last December, we were given an extra priority pass because we were "accidentally" put to standard room while we had an upgrade booking via the website.
Of course they said the room is not ready etc etc... but it was fine with us as we just drop our luggage and went to the park.
In any case, we really had trouble using the passes :teeth:.... in a good way.... as in we do not really need to use them at all.
All rides were practically walk on including the Iron man experience, but we "forced" our self to use at iron man just because we could.
What was great were the reserved space for seeing the parade and fireworks. :)

Did the reserved viewing area come specifically with a hotel package that you had booked?

I'll echo what wongck said-- while having the priority passes was nice, we didn't use all of them. On our last night, we gave away a whole handful to a family that was going to be there the next day. The lines were just always that short.

Thanks for sharing your experiences! Last time we went in July. It’s hot and there were lines, especially the Wonderous Book show. We waited the longest for that show to be in the front for good seats. Slinky dog was quite a wait too. This time we are going in August during the Silver Magic Access blackout week. There would probably be quite a crowd. We were originally thinking to skip HKDL due to the heat and crowd. The priority admission passes sound great, so we changed our mind and will be spending two days there before flying to Seoul. Otherwise we would not visit during the blackout period as DD can get a student silver pass for discounts. The gold one isn’t worth the cost. We plan to be back to the hotel in the hot afternoon. Hope the priority admission passes help to tour the park with less time.

Thanks again! Really appreciate the feedback!

I think the crowd depends on time of the year, we were there 1st week of dec before the school holidays, so crowd was low.
Making a plan even for such a small park helps, not major planning but just a good idea of what to do first and so on due to the staggered opening hours.
We were able to go on Slinky twice, Parachute drop twice when it opened all walk-on.

I agree! Last time we fastpassed Hyperspace Mountain then rode Big Grizzly Mine Cars and Mystic Manor at park opening. With the priority admission passes, we would have to plan differently and that’s why I want to confirm the number of passes we are getting from the hotel reservations. We will spend two days in the park with three nights of hotel reservations. We should get 10 passes (4 from one-night stay in Kingdom Club room and 6 from two-night stay in Explorer’s Lodge sea view room.). We will have reserved seating for both Wondrous Book and Lion King shows. Hope the touring experience is much better this time.
