Why can't I choose room preferences with online check in?

I have been trying to choose room preferences with my online check in and am not able to do so. The preference boxes just say select when I try to open them. I have been able to choose my requests in the past but can't anymore.

It's probably a glitch. You can hold off doing online check-in and try again later. Alternatively, I do online check-in but phone my room requests in a week or so prior to our check-in date.
 
Answering original question....

OLCI is broken. CALL. We've been tracking it for days. Selections there, selections gone. Bouncing like a Duncan Yo-Yo.
 


Do you call the hotel directly a week before or the main Disney number?

FYI - you can’t really call a resort directly. Even a number that says ABC resort really just goes to a central call center. If you hit the “front desk” number on the phone in your room, it goes to a central call center. Anything that implies contacting the resort is setup this way.

But to answer your question, just call the main reservation number and have them note any room requests on your reservation.

Trying to do my online checkin today and having the same problem. The room request options are basically blank with nothing to choose, just says "select" but nothing to select. I called last night and added room requests to my reservation over the phone but was wanting to do it through the online checkin too. :badpc: Oh well, guess I'll keep checking back on it. At least I have them called in.
 


Yeah something is wrong with online check room request. I have a split stay and my first reservation where I did online check-in a few weeks ago, there was at least upper or ground floor but when I try to do the same at WL I'm just getting "near elevator" in both drop downs. That's it...really? Very unhappy because I absolutely don't want to be near an elevator so I'm hardly choosing that and now I no other choices as I always like an upper floor so it's completely useless.
 
You should be fine having your requests attached to your room reservation by phoning central reservations. I always have my requests attached to reservation.

You're correct in a sense. I may be calling but online check-in is supposed to do the same and attach to your reservation and something as simple as an upper floor shouldn't be an issue. It seems weird that all I'm getting is "near elevator". I know they changed the process a bit but they didn't improve online check-in by giving you less options.

They didn't. It's broken at this time.

I mean they changed it from last time when I did it last year. It looks a bit different than it used to be. I used to get a graphic in a separate pop up window with a lot more choices but now I just get a drop down menus with hardly any choices. The most I have got using the new drop down is just two choices and I did it weeks ago. As of now I only get 1 choice even with 2 drop down menus. So I'm getting choices but they're not what I'm looking for. I'm interested in an upper floor accommodation.

Update 9-26-2017... OLCI still broken. We check daily....

Data from previous OLCI requests gets "forgotten" (it never got to the back end Database). CCs often show expired, regardless of repeated "Use CC On File" submissions. Room Requests both "forgotten", and clipped to "upper floor", or "near elevator".

CALL CALL CALL CALL. OR? If a DVC Member, contact Member Services.
 
Yup, broken for me too. Only option I get is "near elevator". I'm in Canada so can't call. I'll just keep checking every day.
 
I just called to try to have my room requests added, and the CM was so rude. His exact words were "The website isn't broken. It works fine." I replied with "Well, I'm having issues. Can you please add my requests for me?" And he said "Unfortunately, it has to be done thru online check-in." I said "You mean to tell me you can't pull up my reservation and add the two room request options, that I would do online if the website was working as it should?" And he said "Ma'am, there's nothing I can do to help you with this." SO THERE'S THAT FUN STORY.

Don't suppose you jotted down the name of this ever so 'UN' helpful CM? Someone needs retraining, for whatever good it would do. A 2nd phone call and a request to speak to a supervisor is in order if you got a name

Making requests via central reservations gives you more options, you aren’t limited to online check in requests which gives very few options. I do both, the simplified online check in options, and give more detailed request via phone.
