Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

Just did online check in for our September trip.

We're staying in a standard view room, was shocked to see my only choices for room requests were;

1. Balcony
2. Ground Floo
3. Aotearoa Longhouse

Was really hoping for an option with a king bed.

I had the same check-in requests and we're staying club level so the longhouse option was just wrong. lol. Hopefully by selecting balcony we'll get 3rd floor that we really want/need.

Hang at the pool with a drink in hand. Laundry time is one of my favorite times. Peace and quiet.

I thought I saw or read somewhere that there's an an app or something that shows when the washer has stopped?

Disney's online check in room choice options are very limited and even irrelevant to many booking categories. If a King bed is important to you, definitely call and have that (and any other request) noted on your room reservation. I would otherwise leave the online check in options blank.

I agree, definitely call and have it added as a request ;).

Just wanted to say hello and that we are on the phone right now switching to the poly ... I know very little about this hotel other than that we stayed in 1997 :) was only 17 :) Like many others we could not get a discount during the month of December anywhere so we decided to switch to February ...we want to book somewhere we like that we can afford at rack rate w no discount (standard at Poly)... WL was shut out of discounts (10 % but no availability) which killed me lol and we want to be on the monorail.

Can any of you see the pictures on page 1 ? From my phone and my iPad I'm getting a message to update photo bucket or something like that

Photobucket recently changed their policies and is now charging some absurd price to host photos like the way those are posted here - like $399 per year or something. It has screwed up the "page 1" pics on several threads around here along with anyone else who has a lot of photos posted via photobucket.

@maiapapaya came by earlier this week to say she knows about it and will be working to address as time allows. Probably no small feat to get all of those photos re-posted via another method.

Photobucket really messed up a lot of folks.

Hope that helps.

Sorry you weren't able to find something for December. I tried pricing several dates/resorts and also had trouble finding availability. Enjoy the planning for February, hope you have a great time at the Poly :wizard:.

Hello Poly Lovers! We just got a really great deal on last minute airfare to come down to WDW next weekend for a long 4 day/3 night trip and we can get a really great deal on either a standard view or a club level standard view at Poly. We've never stay here before (usually call BC home) and would obviously pay more for the CL but now we're just trying to decide if it's worth more money to upgrade ourselves to the CL for myself, my wife and our two kids - 7 and 4. Kinda intrigued but not sure how convenient it is and where the CL rooms are located on the property.

3 weeks until our first Poly stay:yay::yay:

I have an important question for DH: Is there somewhere he can get iced coffee at Poly? I didn't see it on any menus (even Kona Island). I know he can get it at Starbucks at the parks, but we don't want to waste valuable morning touring time.

Thanks!

Whelp, we booked it. We're coming for a quick 4 day/3 night a week from today - July 29-August 1st. Looking forward to our first stay at Poly!

Thank you for the wonderful pics! I look forward to samplings all the deserts in Dec. I can't zoom in on the wine. Do you recall or can you see in your pic if they have chardonay? I am traveling with a friend and that is her go to wine. Thanks @trishadono
Yep they had chardonnay, cabernet , riesling, sparkling and the punch.

DD kept making her Pogmosa's! Sparkling with pog. However I add a splash of either pog or punch to any of the wine. Sometimes you don't want the full sweetness of those but adds a nice flavor.

Also I just peeked at my pix. The riesling was not there the first day but then after it was. I made dd try it.

I tried the port because I have not seen that at any of my CL visits but it smelled like cough syrup lol. I switched to my Grand Marnier :)

After trying most of the cl's and many this past year or 2 with the changes and have to say Poly wins for alcohol . It is out more often , it is mostly self serv too.

They had beer in the cooler at noon on.

Wine upon request.

Wine out from 5-10p even at 4:30 between shifts!

6 different cordials to choose from at 8-10.

They got smart and rope off the food area and leave beverages where you can reach. That way they are set up quicker and efficiently.

The small plates are cumbersome but there are worse things lol.
