Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I bit the bullet and went ahead and spent the extra $$ and ordered GG. I'm sure the weather is going to be hot and humid when we go, and I know we aren't going to want to either walk or get Uber to Speedway from YC to get our own beer, styrofoam cooler, water and snacks. We've always used GG, so why mess with a good thing. Hate to pay the extra $$, but also hate to take time away from our vacation. Thanks for all the advice.

OK, first stay at BC...why would I want a styrofoam cooler? The pool perhaps?

Or a walk through BWI down to the Speedway station! Not sure why we didn't do that back then--Lord knows we've made the walk when we ran short on many other occasions. Must have been a timing thing.

Can you approximate how far the Speedway station is from the YC if you are walking?

Hi. Anyone have a yacht club room number map? I know there was one on page 679 but the photo bucket problem restricts me from seeing it. Thanks!

We found some REALLY cheap airfare to Orlando for next weekend and we're thinking about a quick, long weekend at WDW with the kids before they go back to school but all the rooms are the "standard rack rate" - does WDW ever do last second pricing/deals to get rid of rooms? We've never thought about doing a "last minute" trip before.

No I have never heard of last minute pricing. They don't need to

We are staying BC CL and traveling with another family. We have noted our room requests with concierge (full balcony and for the rooms to be close or even adjoining). Should we do online check in, or leave it?

Here are the current resort promos:

As you can notice. not much there for July check-in.

If you are looking for Epcot resorts, would you consider the Swan or Dolphin? The major differences in benefits are no Magical Express/resort airline check-in and bag drop, and no MagicBands. They have availability at competitive rates. You get the same FriendShip boat and Disney park buses, as well as EMH at the parks. I think the Swan is a little better. All of their guest rooms were completely redone last year and are very nice. The Dolphin is still doing construction.

Does anyone know the price of sunscreen for purchase at the Beach Club Marketplace? I'll check my pictures to see if I can read prices.

:sunny:

You could check Orbitz & Cheaptickets for any promos they're running. They work on disney hotels. The catch is you have to pay upfront.
ETA: quickest way to find promo codes is to Google "cheaptickets promo code" "orbitz promo code".

I kinda figured as much but there seemed to be a lot of availability so I thought I'd at least ask :)

Maybe expedia or one of those other discount sites might have discounts. Google discounted Disney rooms. Sometimes those sites even have codes for even more of a discount.
