"Come To Mama Shark, Baby Shark" May 2017 BC TR UPDATED 7/21!

Congratulations!! party:

Thank you!

Congratulations!

Thank you!

Congrats!!!

Thank you!
YAY!!! Congrats Ashlee!! :woohoo:

Thank you so much!! I feels so good- I studied so many. Never going back to school again!! hah!
I love this!

If you had to study, Lake George seemed like an awfully nice place to do it! I'm glad you could bring fur baby, too. That's the part I hate about taking a trip anywhere - leaving the dogs

Woohoo!!

Yes I agree, it was a great place to study! And we loved that fur baby could join! Leaving dogs is so hard, they're such a a part of the family
:dogdance::dogdance::dogdance:

Congratulations!!

Thank you!
Ashlee I'm so far behind on your TR I'm embarrassed!! Forgive me, I'm here now :D

No worries, I'm just glad you're here!! I've been MIA for a while and need to catch up on your TR and DTRs as well, so we're even <3 <3

I've read about this happening here and there but never when I'M there! I've never met the Country Bears and would love to. I find it hysterical that your DH did not get the humor of the show but I guess not everyone does. And I know it shocks some people too which I also find funny!

It literally was hilarious! Maybe the trick to seeing a meet and greet is to go with someone who DOESNT want to go the meet and greet? :)

Isn't it?? I think I told you it's about 3 hours North of me so we don't get there too often but so many people around here vacation there on a yearly basis. I went every year with my family growing up so I have fond memories :goodvibes And that hotel is gorgeous, we've stayed there before!

Ah, I did not know you lived so close! I can definitly see where people would want to vacation there yearly! It was a beautiful hotel, but honestly the drive was really long and I told DH I might not go next year... hahah!!

Congrats!! Must be such a load off your shoulders!!!

Thank you! It is a HUGE relief... so glad it's over with!

Congratulations!

Thank you!

Late to the party, but coming out of lurkdom to say yes, I LOVE Southern Charm! And Britney Spears

Congrats on passing your boards!

Thank you! And welcome our of lurkdom, theres no turning back now.... muhahahaha :flower:OMG we need to discuss the Southern Charm reunion! I seriosly love Shep. and I really enjoy the entertainment Kathryn provides! I'm ready for Landon to go away... ugh.. and Craig?!

Congratulations!

Thank you!

Just found your TR and following along now.

Yay, welcome! So nice to have you here!

An afternoon of relaxing, and then Epcot!

After our bellies full from LTT, we bee lined it to the bus stop back to the resort. We waited for maybe 3 minutes, we really hit the bus jackpot this trip! Well, at least timing wise.

The bus ride was, well, interesting.

giphy.gif

There was about four other families on our bus so it was not crowded at all. There was a family of a mom, 3 year old (ish) dtr, and a set of grand parents that were all together. Right as we were leaving MK, the little girl starts saying she has to pee. The mom goes into a tizzy and that girl starts fake crying/screeching that 'it hurts' and she has to pee. Now... I'm not judging this child, just to be clear! The mom tells the little girl that she will have bus driver pull over for her and makes her way to the bus driver. He obviously says that he cannot make any stops. The Mom starts loudly telling the little girl that she's so sorry, etc. and this just eggs the kid on. Screaming. The bus driver tells the mom there are towels under a seat... I'm guessing so that she can pick up the impending pee?

Fortunately another family with two little boys is also on the bus and this mom offers a diaper to this girl's mom. The little girl's mom take the diaper and stands the (still screaming) dtr up and pulls up her dress and her undies down. She is facing us... and DH totally faces away and starts looking out the window stating how weird this is. The grandparents are about 39432 shades of red and clearly just want to get as far away as possible.

With the diaper on, the child continues to scream and apparently cant pee in the diaper. I have no idea how it ended because we high tailed it off the bus at the YC and walked over to the BC.

POOL TIME

Once we got back to our room, DH decided he wanted to stay in the room and nap for a bit. I wanted to soak up some rays so I let him rest and I went to the quiet pool. It was so hot and relaxing there. Sigh.

I read some magazines, dosed on/off. Eventually I found myself wading in the pool and heard a cute little family playing. This is where our TR Name was born! I heard the mom in this family say to her little boy, "Come to Mama Shark, baby shark" in the cutest British accent ever. Around 3pm joined me at the pool to cool down and I told him about this- from then on we kept referencing this saying to each other the entire trip!

EPCOT

After our pool time/nap time we headed back to the room around 5pm to get showered and ready for an evening at Epcot.

I was SO excited to show DH that we could WALK from BC to Epcot. We left our room around 6:30pm, and decided to walk around the World Showcase starting in the UK and heading towards Canada. It was still F&G Festival time and I knew I wanted to try a drink (or two) but I didn't know from where. DH doesn't drink, so its not as fun for me if I'm drinking alone, amiright?

DH's mother is obsessed with Tigger (as in she has an entire room in her house dedicated to the bouncing tiger...:yo-yo:) So I had him stop for this photo and sent it his mom:

By the time we go to the Mexican Pavillion I decided I needed a margarita- an elderberry marg to be specific. DH headed to the bathroom and I got in line for my refresher. It was delicious.

DH caught me taking this selfie while I was waiting for him to return and poked fun at me :cutie:

Eventually I got him to join in as well...

We were both getting hungry and I wanted to eat at La Hacienda de Angel, but DH didn't really like the description of the tacos. :sad2: We decided to skip going in the pyramid and keep going, looking for a place to eat dinner.

Up next we stopped in China for a few minutes to gawk at the Jeweled Dragons Acrobats but the sun was glaring down on us so we only stayed a few minutes.

IMG_2649.jpg

We walked by Biergarten, which I love, but again DH wasnt feeling it. He decided he wanted chicken tenders... so I used my phone to see if anywhere in Epcot had GF chicken tenders and sure enough Liberty Inn does! We did peak at all of the menus at the F&G food booths as we walked by but DH didn't find anything that he really wanted. I could eat anything, really. So, for the first time ever we at the Liberty Inn. I guess you could say it was our Liberty Day :thumbsup2 I was a little disappointed because out of all the places we could have ate it, we ended up here. But it was fine with me, and I knew we had some great ADRs coming up in the next few weeks.

IMG_2651.JPG

I love a good bacon cheeseburger. Well, at least half of it. DH ate the other half. haha!

IMG_2653.JPG

This is DH's plate. He loved this dinner... such a simple guy :cool2:

After our meals it was around 8:30 and we debated staying for Illuminations, but decided to head back to the room as we wanted to be up early the next day for AK!

We were in bed by 9:30pm, and DH fell as asleep right away. I stayed up and watched "Southern Charm" for a while and then around 11pm I started getting an upset stomach. It was NOT pretty. I'm guessing it was from our dinner, because I'm not used to eating all that greasy foods. I hoped that this wouldn't last all night, and fortunately things resolved around 12pm. Phew!

Up next: Animal Kingdom... or not?

Real Life Update: I Had Surgery

Hey everyone, I cannot thank you all enough for the 'congrats' I got for passing my NP boards.. you really know how to make a girl feel loved!

Less than a week after I passed my test, I went in for my hip surgery. This was exactly one week ago today. I am happy to report that I am recovering well, and am really looking forward to being able to get rid of my crutches and put some weight on my right foot. Hopefully I'll get clearance to do that on Tuesday 7/25 when I see the doctor.

DH and I like to joke that 2017 is the 'summer that wasnt'. Between traveling for his conference, studying for a good 6 weeks for my NP boards and now this 2 week period where I can't put any weight on my right foot, essentially making me a useless blob we really haven't had time to 'enjoy' anything. Oh, and I'm hoping to start a new job August 1st. Fortunately all of these things only have to be done once, so we're on our way to being able to enjoy life again!

I plan on spending next week catching up on TRs and DTRs I've been missing out on!

Of course he can't stop :rotfl: that seems so silly.

OMG that's so crazy :confused3

Josh doesn't drink either. Be my WS drinking buddy?

Eventually I got him to join in as well...

Cute picture!

Hope you feel better! I've been following your recovery via your Insta stories while I was at work. How are the air conditioner repairs going?

Right?! Can you imagine if the bus drivers stopped every time someone forgot something/had to pee/etc?

OMG that's so crazy :confused3

Oh it WAS!

Josh doesn't drink either. Be my WS drinking buddy?

HECK YES!!! Its on!!

Cute picture!

Aww thank you! The AC went in on Wednesday night... as of 10pm. The sage continued at 9pm... the contractor asked DH if he had any wrenches they could borrow, because if not, they'd have to go to Home Depot to get some. WHAT THE HECK!!

Can't wait to read the rest.

Ill try to be more timely in my updates!

That sounds like our maintenance man! (Who I don't think is qualified for that job). He's always like "oh I can't fix it now I have to go get this thing or I'm not sure what's wrong". But luckily Josh usually knows what's wrong/how to fix it in some way so I make sure Josh is home to kind of tell him he doesn't need to go because he can just do etc and it'll be fixed. (If we didn't rent he'd fix things himself, but we since we do we don't want to attempt any repairs on our own in case they have an issue with it and since we don't own it we don't want to have to pay for parts for anything).

Ugh, kids will make you do things you never dreamed you'd do :crazy2: I am just picturing this mom asking her DD, "honey, do you have to use the bathroom before we leave the MK?" Because EVERY mom EVER does that! :rotfl2:

I heard the mom in this family say to her little boy, "Come to Mama Shark, baby shark" in the cutest British accent ever.

Super cute!

So, for the first time ever we at the Liberty Inn.

My picky teenagers eat here for lunch when we go and it makes me crazy with ALL the yummy food around!

Thank goodness! My body starts to revolt after a couple days of Disney food also

That's a LOT for one summer! Congrats on the new job!

I plan on spending next week catching up on TRs and DTRs I've been missing out on!

Perfect excuse to do that!

I have no idea how it ended because we high tailed it off the bus at the YC and walked over to the BC.

OMG, this whole story had me gaping open mouthed at my screen. Who are these people? Who does this?? So publicly? I would have been mortified.

DH's mother is obsessed with Tigger (as in she has an entire room in her house dedicated to the bouncing tiger...:yo-yo:) So I had him stop for this photo and sent it his mom:

Ok, you need to get us a picture of that Tigger room!! He's one of those characters that people just LOVE. (for good reason, he's super fun!)

Up next we stopped in China for a few minutes to gawk at the Jeweled Dragons Acrobats but the sun was glaring down on us so we only stayed a few minutes.

I love the shows in China but I feel like the areas where they perform are terrible for the sun baking thing.

we really haven't had time to 'enjoy' anything.

Aw, I hope your recovery continues to go well! It's been an eventful summer for you guys, that's for sure. Summer is one of those weird things as you get older...I went through a lot of years when it didn't feel "special" anymore because I was out of school and still had to go to work even though it was summer! Now with the kids, I feel pressure to always be doing something fun so we don't "waste" it, but the kids are content just hanging out at home. I'm still of the mind that warm weather means getting out and going places. They don't agree!
