Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

Got home from CBR last night. While there I tried for bounceback for early Sept, the only bounceback available was for pirate room. That made the pirate room $6 cheaper than rack rate standard room for the week, no thanks. I was warned about the construction, and told about the $75 a night gift card. They are starting to work on the parking lot adjacent to the main pool next week to accomodate the tents and trailers, which should include removing curbs and light poles. There will be a bar trailer

Hmmm....this is interesting since it's more than a month before construction is supposed to start. Also, isn't that parking lot directly between Trinidad North and OPR. I'm wondering how much that would impact preferred stays like mine. I requested Trinidad North to be away from construction, but now I'm thinking it's a wash and doesn't matter and we may experience some construction next month. Removing curbs and light poles isn't quiet work in the least.

I called to modify my reservation and the cast members didn't know if we get gift card every day or one gift card first day for total amount. Anyone know?
 


Old Port Royale shuts down the night of April 30. Service in trailers and tents starts May 1, so that all has to be set up by then. And yes, that is the lot in question.

So I was informed if you are staying past May 1st you will get gift cards for each night. If you leave before May 1st you will not get any. At least that is what I was told by 2 cast members when I needed to change my reservation from POFQ to CBR.

Ok. Thanks. So like I'll get 7 $75 GC's.
u think I'll get 7 at once or have to go get one everyday. That's what CM was not sure about

The wording on the disney website seems to say one gift card with 75 per night put on it. It wouldn't make much sense to make the CM's give gift cards to the same room every day and make you come back to the front desk every day.

$75 Disney Gift Card per room for each night of their stay at check in. This gift card can be used at participating Walt Disney World Resort Food & Beverage and Merchandise locations. For complete terms and conditions, please visit disneygiftcard.com.
 
Hi, we are booking a 1 night stay before our cruise. We have stayed at CBR in the past and consider it a fav! I will need 2 rooms for a family of 6. I am thinking of pirate rooms. I have been reading about the gift cards and that is a great deal! I wonder if we would qualify for a Nov 10 stay?Does it matter which building you stay in to obtain the gift card?
 
We are staying at CBR May 5-16 - we have a water or pool view selected, when I go to online check-in it gives me the choice of Martinique, and then various floor requests, water view, close to transportation. Isn't Martinique one of the construction zones?

I was going to ask a similar question. Wondering if its worth asking for that section or just going on pure luck.

My other is we have an adjustable bed rail and wondering if that would work on the murphey bed? We are driving for this upcoming trip.

The check in list is very generic, and doesn't make sense, has been that way for at least a year. Martinique has been the only village it lists. Along with elevators they don't have. So the floor your on is about the only thing you can pick. All of the places are close to a bus stop.
Yes part of Martinique will be affected.
 
I've been posting on the other thread. We are staying the nights of April 29 and 30. We received an email with the $75 per night gift card offer (no start date mentioned). Then I sent one asking about the May 1st start date listed on the website. Received form letter saying that gift card offer started May 1st. Sent copy of original email. Received another form letter stating that we would receive $25 gift card per night. If we get nothing the entertainment value alone has been worth it!
 
Has anyone heard or speculated on how long the gift card will be offered?

We are going in early November too and switched to CBR for the gift card offer (from POR). For our visit the only rooms open were Pirate rooms. If they have availability it doesn't matter what room you are staying in, all will get the gift cards
 
Have searched for this, but can't find a confirmation. Are the refurbishments complete for all of the CBR preferred rooms?
 
Thank you very much! We're checking in soon under a preferred reservation and I wanted to make sure I didn't need to request a refurb room specifically.
