Taxi Price from Pop to Riverside

I don't know the amount of minutes from these two, but if its any help I just got back and by using an Uber several times the cost (10 minute ride) to go resort to resort was $7.50. When we used a taxi last year from AKL to BC (again, 10 minutes) was $18.00. Using Uber is just a no brainer, so easy and so much cheaper.

I'm a small town girl and just recently had someone explain what uber was to me. How do I go about contacting them when I need a ride? I'm sure they're not waiting out front like the taxis are.

There's an app for that ;)

Seriously though, Uber and Lyft work 100% by app. It's the only way to request a ride.

Just download the Uber app. Its so simple. You can see how close your driver is, its usually minutes away. He'll pull up, you're given the make and model of the car on the app so you can watch for it, he'll ask your name, you check his license plate (given to you on the app) to make sure he is who he is, and away you go. All cost is thru the app, no $ is exchanged. Its really as simple as that.

Interesting....I'll be sure to look into both!
Just my 2 cents, I prefer Lyft for 2 reasons
1. I can tip right on the app, no need to have cash on me
2. Lyft's app sends me a text with the car color (and driver name) when the driver arrives at my location. Makes is so much easier than guessing cars. If you are like me and find that all 4 sedans or cross over SUVs look alike, till you read the badging.

But my #1 reason is #1 above. No cash needed. I feel safer and I feel like the drivers are safer if folks know they have not got much cash on them. A full days of tips could put a lot of cash in the pocket of an Uber driver. Just feels like a recipe for an issue somehow

Anyone know the price for a taxi from Pop to Riverside? :drive:

UBER was FANTASTIC the last trip..man did we get lazy!! We would see a huge crowd at the bus stop and boom call uber and be on our way in the time we would have taken to even get to the bus stop..ahhhhh . Loved it!

These are the same amenities that you get using Uber.

You tip via Uber as well. I'm not sure if they even accept cash tips.

Unless the text changed in the last week you do not get a text with the car color. We used it 1 week ago, no text with the car color. Make yes. Driver name, yes. Car color, no.

Unless the app changed in the last week you can not tip via the app. We used it 1 week ago, no ability to tip via the app and they will take cash tips without question.

If anyone needs an Uber or Lyft code good for some $$ off your first ride, send me a PM.

As an Uber/Lyft driver, yes we can accept cash tips and greatly appreciate it. :)

I have a great link that will get you $5 off your first 10 rides on Lyft. since most rides throughout Disney are only about $7, you'll be riding the whole trip for $2 a ride. PM me, if interested.

We took uber from the Contemporary to POP last week and were shocked by the signs requesting tips! That's now how it is in NY, so maybe it depends on location? We did tip in cash on top of the fare last week, but we've never tipped in NYC!

More than likely you were using UberTaxi in NYC. Totally different service, not Uber at all other than you use the app for it and only offered in 5 or 6 cities in the US. You can tip with UberTaxi.
Regular Uber (Uber, UberXL, Uber Family, Uber Select, etc) can not be tipped via the app. Can only be done via cash. Uber's owners have stated they will not ever, and have not ever, allowed tipping for the regular Uber options

According to the Mears Transportation Taxi Fare Estimator, the cab fare is $10.58.

Some people (myself included) refuse to use Uber because they have a history of questionable business practices. (Note: I have no intention to highjack this thread or engage in any pro/anti "ride-sharing" discussions. But, there are plenty of reasons not to use Uber that aren't related to cost.)

I used Uber at Disney in March, and I liked it a lot. I could follow the car approaching, got a photo of the driver, photo of his car, tag, and him.

Normally, Uber doesn't officially ask for tips, but it was right before Easter, and he was so very helpful, so I gave him a $5. The ride itself was free with a code and it being my first ride.

I'd use them again, but I'd give Lyft a try as well.

It's super convenient, many are cast members (but ours wasn't). It's so worth the convenience!

Some helpful information in here. We've never used Uber or Lift, and we have a car rental this trip for the first time. But we may cancel it and just try Uber. Not sure yet, but these tips are helpful should we do that.
Now if I can figure out how to find an app on this phone....is there an app for that?

Also, where does something like Uber drop customers off in regards to parks? Like if we're going from AS Music to MK, would the drop off be at the TTC? Or what about AS Music to AK?
