Resort Pool Bars

I want to preface this by saying that we have no intention of using a pool that's not at our resort. Not sure if we'll even use the one at ours. However, we have a free day for once and we just want to relax and resort hop. Is it ok for us to visit a resort and have a drink at their pool bar?

I believe most pool bars are within the pool enclosure and you won't have access. One exception is the pool bar at the main pool at the Poly. There are a few stools outside of the fenced area.

The YC/BC has a nice poolside bar that is outside the enclosure, We love to go there and get a drink or something to eat while staying at the BW. The BW also has a nice bar by the main clown bar that is accessible for anyone to eat and drink.

We love the Poly's bar, but really like the lounge inside the lobby. They have the best rum drinks in a pineapple, Lapu Lapu!

Depends on the resort, some are/some aren't. Here are some examples:

GF Main Pool - Open, anyone could walk up (someone correct me if I'm wrong on this one)
GF Other Pool - Behind the pool gates
Poly Lava Pool - Barefoot Bar is partially open to public/part behind the pool gates
Poly Oasis Pool - Behind the pool gates
CR Pools - Pretty sure there is no pool barrier, anyone could walk up. (Although this bar gets two thumbs down in my book, not my favorite place)
YC/BC - Outside of pool area

Though, if I were going to resort hop, I wouldn't focus on the pool bars. I'd rather hit the lounges and restaurants bars. Better options for food, drink, seats, and overall merriment. :-) Trader Sam's, Tambu Lounge, Mizner's, etc.

If the bar is outside the pool gates, go for it. As others have mentioned, all of the deluxe resorts have bars/lounges inside and CSR has one.

AoA has a really nice Pool Bar,"The Drop Off",that is big with some nice TVs.:)

It was originally within the Pool fence, but they have now removed that portion of fence.:)

Can I ask another pool bar question? Do they check IDs or is that information on your magicband? Just realizing that if I want to have a drink while I watch my daughter swim, I might need to bring ID down to the pool with me!

They don't use the MagicBand for ID. My adult daughters have been asked to show their IDs.

DH has waited for me at one of GF pool bar while I was getting a spa treatment. As of last fall the pool bars at POFQ and POR didn't have fences. As far as inside lounges Crew Cup in YC is open during the day.
Both of the Port Orleans resorts have inside lounges but unless the weather was bad on our trips they didn't open till late afternoon.

How could a Magic Band be used for ID? A Magic Band belonging to someone old enough to drink could easily be worn by someone who isn't.

You must bring an ID and if you are international you must bring a Passport. Disney will usually flex the law and accept a copy of your passport with a government ID.

I have thought this before. The only way it could be done would be to take your photo and check your ID at check in. Then when at a bar when they scan your band your photo appears on the register so they can check you actually have your own band on.
But this would be a lot of work for check in staff so I'm not sure if it is worthwhile. But when spending time at the pool it would be nice if you could go with only a magic band and no wallet.
