POR Riverside

I couldn't think of a nicer place to stay with a 16 year old.

I cannot wait to get back; as you can see by my ticker, I am a POR addict - it is my home away from home.

Another POR addict here...2x year for the last 4 or 5 years. We were just there in May and will be again in October. We (just 2 of us) like Magnolia Bend over Alligator Bayou. But would readily stay in either. The grounds are beautiful, the food at CS has lots of choices, and overall just has an "ahhhhh" atmosphere.

Maybe schedule a horse drawn carriage ride for your granddaughter's bday? I've always wanted to do that but haven't yet. Maybe next time.

We will be there in 13 days and can't wait. We stayed there 2 and 3 years ago, but did not stay there last year because we were part of a GG and one of our 3 kids stayed in a room with my mom. You know what - we missed POR so much - we can't wait to go back - we LOVE it there!!!!

We are looking into traveling with friends next year to POR and staying in alligator bayou section. They have a family of 5.. Do you have any pictures of the newly renovated rooms? THANKS SO MUCH!

I do not have any pictures of the room we stayed in sorry, but if you go to portorleans.org they may have so more info. for you.

We stayed there last December. I'm not particularly a fan of Alligator Bayou, but enjoyed our room and how quiet it seemed to be. There was a bus stop close to our room and a quiet pool nearby.

Have a great time!

we have stayed in POR the last 3 years and loved it, we have normally stayed in Alligator Bayou, this year we stayed in Magnolia Bend loved it just as much. we are also going back next year again. enjoy yourself.

Can I just say YAY! ty so much for asking about this because after today I needed to know about this resort also:lmao: I just called Disney to make reservations since my internet access is being weird and running slow today I gave up on doing this on line. THANK GOD I did call lol. I knew it was last minute (going labor day weekend) but had to wait till pay day so was prepared to pay more. The CM told me that I had a discount attached to my name :confused3 never knew I did? NOT complaining a BIT though! I was all prepared to book my resy for a value resort. She told me because of the discount I could get a room for our family at POR for only FIVE dollars more then it would have cost for a value resort! YAY! :woohoo: After thanking her numerous times she said well it's a good thing your internet was acting up because if you hadn't called you wouldn't have received this discount on line :goodvibes So just some friendly advice out there to those booking a resort at DW CALL THEM lol. You never know what discounts you might get if you ask. I had no clue and wouldn't have gotten anything doing it online. :thumbsup2

Well, we have stayed at all moderates and we enjoy POR. We are staying there in September. I absolutely can not wait.popcorn::popcorn:: I hope you have a wonderful time with your granddaughter. :dance3:

Stayed in POR for the marathon last year, its very pretty - its not overdone, just simple and very well kept. Nice trails, lots of green. We were in alligator right by the main building, so that was quite convenient.

Also don't forget Bob - easily one of the best perks of the resort.

We are staying at POR for the first time in November and my DH is worried about how comfortable the beds will be. Can anyone provide some insight on the quality of the beds here. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.:flower3:

We just got back and stayed at AB section. The beds were pretty comfortable so he shouldn't have a problem. I'm one of those folks whose back will really act up with a cheap bed.

I'll say one thing for this place...it IS sprawling to say the least. Don't be timid about asking for another room if the one they give you is too far away from parking or bus stops...the first one they gave us was on the second floor and getting to it from the parking lot just about required the use of a bloodhound.

Love POR. We prefer the mansion section, the buildings are all along the river, and nothing in that section is very far from the main areas IMO. Also love the theming, the gardens, fountains, gazebos. Boat to DTD, and Bob Jackson's show is a must.

Can you tell a bit more about this show? When /Where ? Just book POR for our October stay.

Yeehaa Bob appears in the lounge Wednesday through Saturday nights from 8:30 pm to midnight.

He is definately worth seeing. He is a riot and a fabulous performer.
