@TazDev Prayers for your Son in law.

Lynn Summer needs to figure out things for herself.

I was in the office today. IT was able to fix my issues which relieved alot of stress. One IT guy is really good so I try to go directly to him for any issues. Not many people in the office today. It was another rainy ride to and from work but not as bad as last week.

Kenny is here putting up the backsplash. He is doing so much work. I do appreciate it. I got subs for lunch at a local country store nearby.

I am very quietly saying the as of an hour ago, there was no water in the basement. Granted the rain has been off and on and showery. I checked at 5 am before I left for work, Kenny checked when he got here, and I checked again when I got back. I hope I did not jinx it by saying anything.

Have a good rest of the day.

Hi to all, and hugs @tazdev3225 - I hope things are looking better today!

Slow morning here - helped DS with an organizing project, watched a Hallmark movie and had a catnap, and now I'm working on motivation for my own organizing project. I've realized that as much as I love decorating for Christmas, the sheer amount of visual over-stimulation from it all stresses me out. I think my plan when I put things away this year is to divide (almost) everything in two categories and start having "odd year" and "even year" bins. I'm not ready to really purge, so I think this solution will work for a while.

It's December 28, and we are sitting at 62 sunny degrees. I turned the heat off (until tonight), and opened a few windows. The cats are all taking sun baths and enjoying the air.
Did all my errands and then decided to treat myself and go walk through the mall. I made the mistake of walking into Bath and Body Works, and spent more than I should have. But with such great sales, I couldn't resist. Stopped and got myself some honey garlic chicken wings for dinner while I was out. Everything is put away and I've been sitting on the back deck enjoying the weather. They're calling for rain tomorrow, so I'm enjoying it while I can.
@PollyannaMom That sounds like a great plan for your Christmas decorations. I used to swap out ornaments every other year like that too.

Have a great rest of the day.

Happy Thursday!

On pretty late for me but I was tired this morning and I'm working from home.

lynxstch - sounds like great weather, wish we had it here. I had to turn the heat back on today, not happy about that.>:(

tazdev - hope your son-in-law is doing better.

Sitting here watching Sleeping Beauty on Disney+ just waiting to clock out. I ran out to TJMaxx earlier today and got something for a friend at work (weekend job). She's having a really rough month so I though I would get her something to cheer her up. She drinks milks like other people would drink tea or Coke so I got her two 1/2 gallons of milk, a fancy wine glass, a 4-pack of Cheerio bowls, a scented cande, a sleep mask, and some Take-5 candy bars that I'll arrange in a nice woven basket. I think she'll she'll like the milk and cereal the best!🥛

Almost time to clock out!!!! Have a great rest of your day.

TazDev - I hope your Son In Law is doing well.

Speaking of purging... I've got a pile THIS high for the dumpster. And a equally big pile of some clothes, but mostly household items & a fair bit of Christmas decor it was time to get rid of. So I've got a trip to Goodwill in store tomorrow or Saturday. I also have two large bags of dog-related items to go to the local humane society. On top of that I have about 8 boxes/rubbermade containers of loose pictures and pictures in frames. The big rubbermade containers.....god there are so many photos! I need to at a minimum go thru and attempt a bit of organization before putting them back in storage. I'm throwing away three large boxes of Princess House glassware I wrapped up in 1999 and haven't looked at since. It was my grandmothers....and honestly, I should have let it go long before now.

So in a surprise move my husband suggested we take down the tree. Normally he likes it up till NY's! Not sorry to get things cleared up a bit. So we took the tree apart and carted it out of the house. Later this week we will sink it in the pond as fish habitat. I've got all my holiday linens and dishware packed up and I've got the mantle cleared off. Last big thing to do it the outside lights around the porch and the giant wreath hung on the front of the house. Those can wait. Now I'll see how long I can keep this poinsettia alive😂

I've got a great dane whining in my face for his evening fire, best see to getting Himself settled in front of the fireplace! Have a pleasant evening all -

Good evening everyone.

The situation with my SIL had me anxious and then angry. He couldn't breathe and told my daughter to call 911. For him to do that it was serious. They got him to the hospital who said his vitals are fine and sent him to the waiting room instead of a room. He was feeling weakness in his leg also. My SIL has a history of strokes, he's had 4 or 5 already, and this was just ignored. By 6 AM he still wasn't seen but was feeling a bit better, was hungry, tired and cranky so they walked out. My daughter told me one person they spoke too had been there almost 24 hours and still wasn't seen, another person about 18 hours. My daughter called my SIL's primary, and they think it was an over-the-counter med for a cold that interacted with the meds he is on. This hospital is within the same system my other daughter works in bit the care is like night and day. I made a complaint last year about the treatment Jim got after his toe was amputated. I can walk to the hospital it is so close to my house but from now on we will drive to the one my dad was in. The care dad received was fantastic.

Thank you ALL so much for the prayers, I truly believe they helped.

I did go to Lancaster today as I promised the kids. Sadly, the boys couldn't feed the cows as there was no hay out. I believe the very wet and lousy weather played into that. I got a couple ornaments at the Disney Outlet and an Encanto Lounge Fly Bag for Disney. I am not much of a purse carrying type of person, but I do need something for Disney if I take an extra lens for the camera and to put my wallet in. Usually, it's in my back pocket but I have dropped it a few times so this is safer, MAYBE! 10 years ago this May I went to Disney with a friend. We got off of Spaceship Earth and my wallet was missing. In complete panic mode we headed back to our resort where thankfully I found it in the closet. A day or two later we went on Jungle Cruise, and I forgot the handbag in the scooter. Thankfully it was safe and sound with nothing missing when we got back to the dock.

@Snowysmom - hope you are still dry. We got a ton of rain around here but thankfully have never had water issues.

Mona Hope you are continuing to feel better

Tazdev Glad your SIL is better. However, the medical care was less than stellar especially with someone who has a history of strokes.

Good morning. It is 40 here with temps going up to 45. Not too bad. As of last evening my basement was still dry but the rain was pretty much just drizzle by then. Kenny will be going back down this morning to shut off breakers to do his work. He will look again. I really think the heavy rains are the issue. Kenny had a good idea in that they need to direct the water away from the condo as it comes down the hill. They may need to dig a trench and put in crushed rock or something to do so. They also need to plant alot more grass. I will talk to the foreman about that when he returns for my punch list items. Kenny will be finishing up putting up the tile. He needs to wait 48 hours before adding the grout. This may be a work in progress for a bit. As long as he puts my kitchen back together in the meantime I am good with it. I really like the way it looks right now. The tile is just what I wanted.

My DGD Ellie now has an ear infection and is on antibiotics. Jeff has 4 kids and they all have passed around this illness. She should be good to go for Ethan's party tomorrow.

Off to work. I am finding it harder and harder to get my head into my work. And yet I can't retire because I need to keep busy. Such a conundrum.

Have a good day.

Good morning. Sunny again today, but temps only mid 40's. We got spoiled quickly yesterday. It was nice to turn the heat off and open the windows for just a little while.

I need to dust and vacuum, but I don't really feel like it. It's hard to believe that it's 7 weeks today that Don has been gone. Some days I think I'm doing okay, others not so much. Little things still get to me, as much as I try not to let them. Still not a word out of Summer and I'm not going to be the one to make the first move this time. If this is the way she wants to be, then she can be this way. I'll manage. This is the same thing she always does. When it's in the moment, if something dire is happening, she's there. After the dust settles, she goes back to being oblivous.

The year is quickly winding down. I have my new calendars and need to get the desk one out and start writing birthdays, anniversaries, and appointments in it.

Have a good day everyone.

Snowysmom:hug:, I am also so grateful no new water. Could you cut back in work hours and perhaps do some volunteering? My grandma at one time volunteered at my school. Perhaps you could do so at your grandkids' school? Just an idea.

Lynn:grouphug:

PollyannaMom and everyone, hug with love to all of you. Taz, prayers today is even brighter.

Lynn It is fine to just be with whatever you are feeling at the moment. And emotions do sneak up on you sometimes and other times it is not so sneaky.

Mona I am actually adding an hour a day to my work schedule. They want me back 40 hours a week but I compromised at 35. I will see how it goes. I hope things will quiet down a bit in my life so I can take a look at things. I need to figure out what to do to get myself through. I have no idea where to start but hopefully I will have an epiphany at some point. I do hope to volunteer at some point in my life possibly at the local library or food pantry. But that only takes a few hours a week. I need to fill more time than that.

I actually booked a Disney trip for next December. I figured I would do it and if I decide to cancel as I get closer I will. It will be for 4 nights. It could be a good trip to have good memories of when Chris and I went to see the Christmas decorations back in 2014. 10 year anniversary. See if I can do it. Solo trip.

I'll be there somewhere/sometime in December. I'm still moving my points around to see what days I can get as I'm trying to do similar to this year, early Dec and late January/Early February.

I had a decent trip this December, extending it a day and then stopping at Hilton Head for 2 nights on my return trip. Weather was great and only cooled down my last day/morning I was leaving and I had no rain. I saw quite a few Xmas decorations but they weren't top priority. Only did two park days, but hopped so saw 3 parks. My February trip this year (coming fast!) is expanding itself. I'll be there 8 nights as of this morning, with a stop in Hilton Head for 1 (possibly 2) nights on my return.

We always have a December 2024 WDW trip planned, we really enjoy the Candlelight Processional. We have already booked a Merrytime cruise for December 14, and will be at WDW before that.

I will be in WDW in early to mid December next year. I forgot about the Candlelight processional. Really enjoyed it in 2014. I will look into that as it gets time to book it.
I didn't book for the CP as I've done it several times before. In addition I've gotten in without a dining package, but that's not a guarantee these days. Since they have the Holiday Kitchens, and other walk up and grab it options, I prefer to snack around the world. I did sit in the back and listen to the music this year while John Stamos narrated. That would not be ideal for anyone who wanted the full experience as I really couldn't see much and didn't hear a lot.

I'm trying for standard BWV rooms between Dec 1 and Dec 15. That's sketchy as I didn't get it going correctly (walking). Meanwhile, I'm also looking for that late January reservation. Most of my points are BWV, which means I 'have to' use that resort at 11 months or wait for 7 months to try something else. I also have a BCV contract but very few points left for next year. My other 2 contracts are Vero and HH, so I go through the process of fighting for nights in my home resort every year. Good thing I enjoy staying there! Also, since I borrowed points in 2022 and 2023 I'm working with a smaller amount for 2024 and trying to get 2 trips in without borrowing!

It may be December next year before I get everything I want straightened out! When they lowered the BW January points to 9 points per night, January got hot. January is my birthday month so I almost always try to go then.

Ya'll are inspiring me with the talk about trips to the world. Maybe I'll plan one of my own. I haven't been since 2001 and I know there are so many changes I'd like to see. I'm going to ask my girlfriend if she'd like to go, I don't think I'm ready for a solo trip just yet. She wants us to go to HI but the cost and her husbands approval is holding things up. She is going to come to MD and visit me in April though. Maybe we can work something out Disney wise while she's here. Fingers crossed.

I got a text from Summer earlier today. She said she wrote me a message on Monday, but forgot to hit send. I called her out on it. I said the words you used were 'I'll call you later'. If you really wrote me a message and didn't hit send, it's still in your draft folder. You could have just hit send today and I would have gotten it. Instead you write me a totally new message. I'm not buying it and I'm not letting her think I am. I'm really so over her right now.

Snowysmom and Lynn, just a whole lot of extra xoxo.

God willing, I hope some of you ae able to meet up at WDW. I sure still would LOVE to have a DL Quacker meetup especially for Candlelight. Remember we had a semi start to such a PM going? We should begin a new one in the new year.

Cool afternoon here. Dad is at Pavilions. God willing he will be home within half an hour. Extra hugs to all.
