Side note, became a Costco member today mainly and visited today. I don't know if i just went to an outdated or unorganized Costco but I am not impressed compared to Sam's. First thing that stood out was the aisle just had big red numbers above them instead of signs that says what is down the aisle. It also felt like everything was kind of all over the place and not much organization. Didn't find many snack or chip options compared to Sam's or I just completely missed it. There is no scan and go on the app, the app also doesn't really tell you where anything is. The people at the front are marking the receipts instead of scanning at Sam's and they don't take American Express

Scan and go and the ability to use your Sams cash along the way - plus curbside pick up is so nice.

I have a newer in store membership, I’m not familiar with the Smart Saver. Is that the coupon paper you get in store? I don’t get any flyers mailed to my home. Do you know if the $10 coupon is on the in store flyers or only something that is mailed to you? Thanks!

Thanks! I’ll have to ask next time I’m in the store how I can get the flyers mailed to me.
I know you said the mailed fliers but to start check the app under your account and make sure you are opted into getting emails, they will send out deals that way occasionally. There might even be an option in the app for snail map too but I'm not 100% sure.

I don't know if anyone saw the article linked below about a family who got $10,000 in Disney Plus gift cards and then realized they couldn't use them in the parks - Disney did allow them to change them into regular Disney gift cards at the end.

Personally, I think Disney knew when they came out with the Disney Plus gift cards that it would fool a lot of people and they really didn't care. There was no need for a separate gift card for Disney plus.

I tried ordering 4 sets of two and it's canceled two of my orders and not sent me any of the others. When you say you bought 4 per login what do you mean?

Every Costco membership comes with 2 “members” per household. Both members of our household have their own login and bought 2 sets of 2.

I saw the tik tok. This ladies parents were trying to book things a few weeks before going and finally realized. How are you trying to buy tickets a week before going for Christmas!?! There has to be thousands of others out there that don't realize what it takes to plan a trip.

Thanks, I’ll check that out. I do use the app for coupons, but never thought about checking for opt ins.

You don't necessarily need two logins... I bought two sets of two when the deal first came out, and then after reading on Saturday that Costco had "reset" the sale, I've been buying a set of two each day. I'm now at $3k towards my $10k cruise this summer. I'm going to keep going each day until the deal ends.

I had tried to buy a third set last week and got rejected, so I'm taking it at two a day.

Mine just popped up too @gottalovepluto but the terms on my AMEX deal specifically exclude gift cards as eligible purchase. I didn't see anyone flag that so far? I'm okay with YMMV but would love to know if there are any DPs on this from those that already purchased?

Or wondering if this is a new round of offers and they closed a loophole?
I just checked my cc account for the first Best Buy Disney GC purchase and I have received the statement credit. I should see the second one tomorrow.

As someone who has been a member at both warehouse clubs for a long time- I agree with you 100%. In 2023, Sam’s has a better shopping experience by a mile. Scan&Go and curbside was a game changer. Costco hasn’t changed or innovated much in the 15 years I’ve been a member.

I will give Costco a slight edge on the overall selection and quality of store-brand products (Kirkland), but Sam’s isn’t far behind. I’ve also had good really experiences with customer service at Costco.

IMO - Costco started going downhill when they got rid of their AmEx card. That card had a lot of extra perks that no longer exist on the citi card. The membership checks at self-checkout have also gotten obnoxious (to the point that I’d rather just use the regular checkout).

Interesting that they “reset” the sale . I have a cruise in October 2024 and I am tempted to copy you! lol

I already got the 10% off for doing the placeholder reservation…might as well get another 10% on top of it!

The Scan & Go at Sam's is definitely a game changer and the store itself can be easier to navigate - but we've found the "perks"associated with our Costco membership (mainly travel and insurance) 100x better than Sam's. Also - Costco Gas is "top tier" which supposedly is better for your car. We keep our membership to Costco for the travel alone (that and we are closer to a Costco than a Sam's).

Costco really doesn't like me. I've only gotten 2 cards from when the offer first went live. After that everything gets cancelled, even after the offer reset.

Were you able to buy any today? I just tried, it went through, then I got notice of cancellation.

The lack of signage for the aisles drives me nuts!! They don't take mastercard either.

I just tried the new login thing, but it was cancelled as well. I guess I will try tomorrow, and if that gets cancelled again, I will just accept it. I got two sets of two for myself, one set of two for my youngest daughter, and my oldest daughter who I gift a membership to managed to get one set of two. Not too shabby!
