Our Black Friday/Cyber Monday haul:
I've picked up discounted REI GCs (~20% off) through the year waiting on Black Friday/Cyber Monday to deploy them for the purchase of two bikes we wanted from that store. Bikes are not cheap! But hoping to start riding in the parks on weekends when it's warmer. My bike went on sale Black Friday for $100 off, so we jumped on it. DH's did not, and that one was more expensive to begin with. Waited for Cyber Monday and still no sale on his... Bummer. Went to the store yesterday to at least pick up my order and lo and behold, they had a version of DH's bike on sale in the store! $150 off! The reason being that the store had a single bike left in "midnight blue," a discontinued color but otherwise identical to the one DH wanted, and so they discounted it at the store to make room for the newer colors. While DH pondered whether "not the color he had in mind" was okay/worth the steep discount, another couple started eyeing the bike. So I made an executive decision and grabbed it because DH thinks things through until it's too late
Luckily I had all the GC numbers in a note on my password manager app on my phone so we were able to make the purchase right then. Once we brought it outside it turns out that "midnight blue," which inside the store basically looked black, actually takes on a neat, deep purple color in the sun - DH was very happy about that!
Got home and purchased some helmets using the $20 off $120 Target Circle offers and finished off our recent Circle bonuses that way as well.
The only only other thing I picked up during the sales, besides some Fandango GCs, was a Citizen watch DH has been eyeing. Was on sale for 15% off, there was an Amex offer for $75 cash back, plus stacked with Rakuten 10% cash back. Hooray!
Sorry for the long message, lol, I guess I'm overly excited that things worked out with those bikes and we were able to stack discounts
