Like the lady who called my office, after we made some street repairs, complaining that the color of the old and new asphalt didn't match....

I used to work at a church in Raleigh and our parish administrator would regularly come in Monday mornings to calls from people complaining about the direction of the toilet paper rolls. I wish I was kidding, but...

We eventually solved that "problem" by putting a second roll holder in each stall - and set up the rolls with one going one way and the other going the opposite.

I get that working with people is hard. I just think that of all the jobs being a princess would be the most fun
You’re correct. It is so much fun. And seeing people so happy to meet the characters is an amazing feeling. But it is still work and there are parts of every role that are annoying and boring. But the majority of the time, the good outweighs the bad and that is what has kept me coming back

I don’t know about it being the most fun job. There are a lot of fun jobs. I can come up with a few. How about being a character attendant or a Cruise Director, the greeter at one of the deluxe resorts or the Main Street USA mayor. There are tons.

I agree, many Disney jobs are fun. I had many tech jobs. WDW was probably the lowest paying, but the most fun. In 1973 I wired the show control rack in the DACS computer room and the audio rack in audio central for the "new" PotC attraction. I also got to ride in the first manned boat during testing, after testing with sand bags. It's hard to top those kind of job experiences.

I have never been instructed to throw them away, but perhaps other departments have been. I even have a few cute ducks that I found and kept. There are a lot that do somehow end up in the trash though. The comments about this in the hiding ducks thread come from a former CM
I did recently talk to a CM who is on vacation right now, but was on the Fantasy. Her and her roommate collected a few ducks and a few were giving.

@Mags2002
I just wanted to express gratitude for what you do everyday ❤️
We are leaving for our trip this weekend and was scrolling through pictures with my now 9 yr old of our first trip in 2017. All the princesses were obsessed with his prince charming costume. And watching him just fall into their ball gowns for big hugs made my mommy heart melt.

Now he is older - it's gonna be different but still worth it!

Thank you so much!!
Cindy has met a gorgeous little Prince Charming at different times. I can’t remember exactly when or which ship though. I am sure he will still steal the Princesses hearts 💙

We always hear and see the message about no saving seats in the Walt Disney Theatre. Why is this policy not enforced? I will see two people in line ahead of us, who go to a prime location row and sit several seats apart, then telling anyone who asks that those empty seats are saved. The rest of their party shows up maybe 5 minutes before show time. This is not someone going out for snacks or to the restroom, as those late comers were not in line with the rest of us.

And if it’s not going to be enforced, it’s useless and should be done away with it.

I think a possible reason why it’s not enforced is because the few CMs that are working the theater would be required to play cop and that’s not something the CMs and Disney want to do. I didn’t like being put in that position.

How many years did you stay?

Hi DCL Peeps!

I am an Entertainment CM and have worked in a couple of different positions on a few different ships (and WDW as well). If you have questions and can’t find the answer, please send them my way and I can try and help.

Hi!

I just posted this on a different thread, but thought I would ask here as well. I am looking at taking my first cruise (on the Magic, hopefully), and noticed that there does not seem to be any cruises the weeks of 6/14-19, and 10/26-31. That would mean that there is NO cruise on Halloween Day. Does that seem right? Do these ships go down for scheduled maintenance each year, and how does that work? Thanks so much!!

I miss Scoop Sanderson. He loved that role.

Very sad to say less than one. I went to WDW mid Octorber 1971. I knew I wanted to work there. I was already interested in AA. I went to the employment trailer in the woods off 535 and applied. For almost two years I kept getting rejection letters. Then strangely I discovered that my boss had a relative that had a high position at Disneyland and he offered to have him write a letter of introduction for me to the head of the WDW AA section. I immediately got a call from the DACS supervisor and drove 900 miles for an interview. 6 months later when there was an opening I got the job. An engineer from MAPO, Dave Inglish, came to head the PotC installation and I worked for him on that. Then the first big energy crisis hit and I was lowest in seniority when the big layoff happened.
