your first Disney World vacation

Mine was 1986 - our datd took us during one of our sumer visits. My parents were divorced, but what I didn't know was that my did didn't tell our mom. 😦 That was controversial - still is to thais day. Anyway, our first trip was good - I threw up in front of the very new Captain EO. 🤣 A few years later, my mom would take us and she really did it up right. That was honestly a more fun trip, though I got a terrible sunburn. It wouldn't be until many years later that I would go back as an adult and becme just a bit obsessed. 😁

March of 1972 -- six months after it opened. We went for two weeks that year and I have been for two to three weeks per year almost every year since...only missing a few years in all that time. It definitely feels like a second home now and watching it grow and change along the way has been very interesting.

This for me as well, except that we haven’t missed a year. Once a year minimum when we lived up north, and multiple times per year since moving to Florida. I was young enough that I don’t remember specific details from that first trip. Those early trips kind of blend together. The first one I remember any specific details for was 1975, the year Space Mountain opened. I remember watching the crowd running for the ride when the rope dropped.

March 1998. DD was 5 years old. We had no plans to go to FLorida, even though DH had a conference in Orlando. However, as the conference dates grew nearer, we kept hearing from friends from grad school, from prior jobs, etc. They were all going to the conference and bringing their families (DUH it's ORLANDO) so we decided maybe it'd be a good opportunity to go have a "mini-reunion" with old friends. At the last minute, my sis, BIL, and 1yo niece joined us. We stayed in a 2br unit at the Residence Inn, and DH spent his days at the conference while the rest of us hit the parks. We did the parks "wrong" (didn't pay attention to crowd levels, best days for each park, touring plans, etc), didn't go to a single evening/fireworks show, ate dinner in our hotel every evening (we had a kitchen)- and had a MAGNIFICENT time! I never went to WDW until I was almost 42, and I've now been... 34 times? Totally hooked!

Apparently I went as a baby but since I don’t remember that, what I do remember is 1982. It was the summer in between the 4 & 5 th grade. First time flying, we did 3 days at MK. Epcot wasn’t open yet. Sea World, Circus World & Wet and Wild Water Park - both don’t exist anymore, drove over to Kennedy Space Center and took the tour then went to Cocoa Beach.

My first trip was 2004 when I was 39 years old. My husband and I took our almost 5 year old son. We had so much fun we went back the next year!

I hope you get to go sometime! You’re never too old. 😁

I was 14 years old, it was during my Christmas vacation from school so it was January 1972. My Mom and I rode with my grandparents from Michigan to Florida to their winter place in Arcadia then we flew back home.

1982, I was on a trip to see a college bowl game in Orlando, and I left my group told them I be back in a while, took a cab, and went to Disney World, MK. I have been in love with it ever since. My last trip was in December 2022, and my next trip is October 2023.
