I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

Thinking of getting one mid July before the offers expire but can't decide on whether to do the biz one to avoid taking a 5/24 slot.
The Hilton Biz card is a great deal for the slot if you can meet the spend (though Surpass is worth considering for the 6x grocery for those 3/24 and below). FWIW, Delta cards just elevated their offers through 8/2/23: https://frequentmiler.com/new-delta-offers-good-for-up-to-110k-miles/

I may check out the Delta Biz Plat to keep my 15% Skymiles refund live when my Reserve Biz annual fee comes due. I fly to or through ATL constantly, so its a big time perk for me personally.

My DH got the AMEX Delta Gold card 2 years ago. I thought he couldn't get the bonus again but he got a mailer today for 65K miles. If he applies, will he get the bonus again?

As long as the mailer doesn't have any lifetime language in the terms and conditions and your DH doesn't see a pop up during the application process he will get the bonus.

I wonder how much I'd really need the 6x grocery, it seems so many cards have been throwing 5% in that category constantly for a couple of years. I'm thinking the biz version, then, though I'll look at the perks more closely since so many folks seem to have and keep their Surpass.

The elevated Delta offers are great news, too, I wonder if I can fit both in... Finding ourselves flying Delta a lot domestically as they have a lot of direct flights where we go out of RDU. Especially when for repositioning to JFK or BOS to fly abroad.

I had to change a flight on AA today. While I was doing that I noticed that the other leg of my flight seemed to be on a different plane. This leaves my seat assignment in main cabin instead of main cabin plus. Should I proactively change my seat assignment or wait until closer to my trip in July?

DS's new passport arrived and it's so fancy with it's hard plastic passport page. When I'm fumbling with 6 passports, this will make it so much easier to find the page.

Updated his TTP (global entry) with new passport info.
Ooh! Hard plastic for the passport page, that’s nice! Never would have said that before but Hilton Tahiti put a crease in my passport page when they scanned it and I kept trying to bend it back every time I pulled it out after that.

How long was the processing time?

Change it now. Why risk losing it?

Do biz. I’m working with some players right now over 5/24 who are waiting for stuff to drop off. You don’t want to be looking back 12 months from now asking yourself why on earth you did a personal HH cc when you could have done a biz.

Hyatt points can be transferred between spouses (or even acquaintances), correct? I haven't done it before, but I am booking a room for my sister and I to stay at. I'd rather not do it with DH's account since he's not going, and may have to sign some forms or something annoying... so to make it easier I was just thinking to transfer URs to his Hyatt account, and then transfer those Hyatt points to my own account. Anyone done this?

Is the support bonus for Chase Ink still 40K? I checked all my emails and they are 20K.

EDIT - NVM - I found the 40K code

Do you have a UR card so you could transfer them to your own hyatt acct.

Not sure if it's status dependent but he could do a guest of honor booking with his points and then he doesn't need to be there.

The benefits of any particular card are certainly subjective. Just keep in mind that a grocery bonus also allows you to buy things like Airbnb gift cards, restaurant gift cards and anything else you can find at your particular grocery store to earn bonus points on every day spending. Granted, organic spending in this way will never matter as much as a SUB, but its free points.

If you have enough cards that offer a 5% grocery quarterly bonus during different quarters, then another grocery card won't help you. But, I tend to play more with business cards than personal cards so I'm never over 5/24, so I've never tried that strategy personally.

All true but I'd rather the 4x on the gold than 6 on the surpass. The 6 was great when meeting spend on the surpass but I don't use it outside that. I need to decide if I want to cancel or pay the af that hit this month. Will prob cancel. I don't do the 15k for the fnc and I have the aspire.

Yeah, to me, Hilton's award nights are so pricey that 6x doesn't seem like so much. But maybe I'm just too used to Hyatt

I don't currently have a CSR/CSP, so I can't transfer my URs to partners. We've been combining all our URs into DH account since he has the CSP. He doesn't have status with Hyatt so I don't think he can do the guest of honor. Pretty sure I read that's a globalist perk.

There's a new question on my latest CIC application. They want my estimated monthly spend. Yikes! I don't know what to put here - A lot at first and then a little lol. What have you all entered here?

I just submitted my app and no instant approval for me :( It said we'll let you know our decision in writing as soon as we can. This is sad. I hope it's not a denial, especially after DD just got denied for the cap one student savor card

The way MRs transfer to Hilton is 1:2, so 4xMR on the Gold equals 8 Hilton points per $1 grocery spend which is (marginally) better than the 6 HH pt on the Surpass. If the $15K FNC is not of interest then I would cancel it too.

Yep, you inspired me to check our date (just going for 1 day) $244/each for a 1 day Park Hopper. $179 without the hopper. Disney has become like buying gas, I know I need it, so I just don’t look at the price 🤣

DVC members will appreciate this: they asked me the week before if I could get them a Friday night at Grand Californian. I was 99.999999% sure there would be nothing but I checked anyway. Both are/were used to parents paying for tickets, although my DD has bought a few herself - back when a 7 day might cost $400 or so.

DD had gone in advance of the conference and spent the weekend going to Joshua Tree. She had already spent extra on car rental and used her UR's for a room near JT, so when the 2 tickets became double their budget, it was fairly easy to skip it. In addition there would have been a room and food, plus extra transportation costs. Pricey add on to the end of a trip.

Was it the 7-10 days message, or not that specific?
