After Hours Events - Ask Questions and Share Experiences Here

That sounds like a great night. Was Chewie available at all for pics as part of the AH? Also, what time did you end up staying until? Thanks.

I heard from others that he did come out in GE so you could have taken pics with him then. We caught his meet and greet before the event though.

We started walking out around 12:30. The event ended at 1am.

One last question - the night we go to HS AH, we are staying at the Waldorf (at a conference before moving to the swan). If we stay until 1, how hard will it be to get an uber back to the hotel? Anyone have experience with that?

Super easy. Ubers are available all over the Central Florida area at all times of day. We have done very late nights before and never had an issue.

Going to Epcot AH at the end of June and are planning our strategy (very type-A household)

We have never done Remy's, but my mom is afraid of doing Test Track at night (I'm lucky I can convince her at all). We are staying at the Riveria, so we are planning to take the Skyliner in at 7 pm. Do you all recommend heading straight to Test Track or going to Remy's and then over to Test Track? Sunset has been around 8 pm, so I feel like we may cut it close going to Remy's first, but any advice would be great!

Test Track is very weather dependent so it may be depend on what your chances of rain (lightning) are that day. If the weather is good, I'd get Test Track out of the way first. If it's not, you may have to wait until it is up and running anyway so head to Remy first in that case. That's generally always my strategy even during the day.

Since you're not rope dropping, there's really no reason to do Remy first. I'd jist go to Test Track first and Remy on your way out.

Advice please ... we are doing the after hours at Epcot tomorrow night. The downside of it being the first night is that we won't have the benefit of everyone's experience to guide us. Our priorities are Guardians and Remy as we have never ridden them before. Considering doing Remy when we enter the park at 7:00, not sure if this is workable or not. I'm assuming that Guardians will switch to a regular line vs Virtual Q during the event? Any suggestions for a game plan to get both rides done?

In the same boat as you, although I don’t think our focus will be Remy as much. Guardians is supposed to become regular line, at least based on what I’ve been told. I just don’t want to be running back and forth!

We went to AH at HS and had an amazing time even though it drizzled most of the night.

We got there a little after 7 and only waited about 5 minutes to get inside and get our wristbands. Half of our party didn’t bring ponchos so we stopped and got a few while picking up a few other items.

As I was pulling up our tickets in MDE, an alert popped up saying that RRC was down and they apologized for the inconvenience.

We made our way to ToT and waited about 20 minutes. We then hurried over to the Droid Depot so that 5 kids could make their droids and we had them shipped home.

We then pretty much walked right up to our first snack cart and made our way through the park. Rise was down so we walked right onto Smugglers and Star Tours. We then went to MMRR and saw that RRC had a 5 minute wait in the app and we were able to pretty much walk right on. We then walked right on to TOT and then made our way back to the other side of the park.

Toy Story Mania was a walk on and we waited less than 15 minutes for Slinky. By this point we had also already stopped at 2 more snack carts and had to wait as a member of our party forgot something on one of the rides.

We saw that Rise had a wait time in MDE and we tried to run back to it as fast as we could. It was 12:50 and we wanted to get there before the event ended. We got stopped by a cast member due to the fact that we were walking away from the exit while everyone else was walking towards it. They tried to discourage us from going but said we could go if we thought we could make it. We stepped into the queue at 12:58 and got to be apart of the last group to ride for the night.

It was so cool to see an empty park as we were leaving. I had been on the fence all week about buying Genie+ or a few LLs before the event started but I’m glad I didn’t as we didn’t need it. We got to do everything that we wanted plus more! I would recommend the event to everyone!

As a bonus, we’re waiting in line for Slinky and my 6 year old yells out “Hey that’s my teacher!” We live in Tennessee so it was hilarious for him to see her there!

At Epcot right now and can confidently say I don’t think is worth it. We originally wanted to do HS and I missed the ball on it. We’ve done Mk before and loved it. I’ll write more later, but I don’t think Epcot is worth it for the money. Was hoping the recent reports at HS would be encouraging, but this is either oversold or the rides are just not functioning at full capacity.

Yeah it absolutely wasn’t worth the money. I’m very disappointed. Cosmic rewind broke down at the start of the event and only ran on 1 side for the rest of the event. The standby line was listed as 60 minutes, but we waited much longer than that. The DAS pass system was down so cast members were letting DAS users go right through lightning lane instead of a return time, further making standby a standstill. We waited probably double the time we did for a virtual queue and only got to do it once.

Remy’s was down for a bit, then operated at half capacity as well with a 45 minute wait, the app didn’t show wait times the first hour+ of the event, and test track was down for a bit (didn’t confirm that, just heard it in passing).

Just an absolute disaster first night of Epcot after hours.

Sorry to hear disappointing reports about Epcot. We are going at the end of the month and I planned less time in Epcot this trip because I figured we could do our favorite attractions multiple times with this event. Oh well. Will just make the best of it.

For those of you who were at Epcot last night, can you confirm that GotG was standby only (no VQ like they do during Extended Evening Hours)?

I wasn’t there, but yes, it was standby as being reported by several Disney news sites and other personal accounts - and with the exception of the first 30 minutes or so of the event when it was a walk-on, it was a 60-90 minute wait the whole night according to these reports. Side note: It sounds like they also had the France-Norway path closed in WS as they do do EEH, so they kept that long trek from Remy to everything else for this event.

Thank you!

Ooof, I'm sorry you all had to deal with that. We had a similar experience with ride breakdowns at the HSAA event on 4/2. It put a damper on the night, and we left early.

On that same trip, we stayed at epcot for extra magic hours and were able to do 3 rides in this order; Frozen, Test Track, and Remy with minimal wait. We exited through IG and did Remy on our way out. It helped to balance out the disappointing HSAA and the money I spent.

In our experience I think the only after hrs/extended hrs. anything that we feel is worth it is MK. There is just not enough at the other parks for the amount of ppl. they allow in. The other issue is that the other parks are not solely ride based. A lot of those parks are shows/experiences that are not open during those special events. Thanks for the feedback!

The walk-way thing is totally unacceptable.

Thanks for sharing your feedback (and sorry for your pain on the experience). I was on the fence on booking this but now will just buy a ILL to ride guardians and call it a day.
