Do I really need a Magic Band?

Honestly I wasn't sure how I'd feel about using MB at first but I really liked it, everything was smooth, was nice to use it to get into my hotel rooms. That said I had to wear it INSTEAD of my Apple Watch, which was a bit annoying since I was doing runDisney races and it would have been nice to track the runs with it. I'd definitely consider the puck holders I'm seeing here.

We have an upcoming stay and the Monorail one is available only thru the MDE webpage. And some that are on Shop.disney are NOT available thru MDE with the discount. Like Black Panther or the Star Wars 'May the 4th' one.

What do you mean by the MDE web page?

Perhaps that is the section on My Disney Experience where you order your MBs for your trip? Maybe you need a future reservation to see certain ones? Not sure.

I have a reservation in 2 months at Beach Club. I don't see a place to order bands on the website on my desktop. There is a page in the app that says "build your band", but it goes to a page that doesn't load.

I love my magicbands, I get so annoyed when I stay at the Swan or Dolphin and have to use a key card. Even worse at Universal. #firstworldproblems :rotfl: :rotfl:
At least at Universal it's commonplace to wear a lanyard to carry your room key and other cards in. When I went two weeks ago, I felt like a celebrity getting VIP access when I flashed my lanyard for early park admission lol

They do get a leg up with the Tapu Tapu wristband though, even despite that thing being quite bulky.

If your Beach Club reservation is linked to your MDE account, the link above should show it and allow you to order MagicBands at a pre-arrival discount. The above page can also be found under the "MyDisneyExperience" drop down menu as "My MagicBands and Cards".

I just bought AP's to WDW so I decided to let my Uni AP's expire this month. I had to cap the fun somewhere. :rotfl:

If you look at My Plans on the MDE webpage, right above your resort stay, on the right, should be a link to order Magic Bands. I don't have a stay booked right now so I'm not totally sure of the wording, but I ordered the bands for my trip last month this way. You have to order them for everyone in your party who wants one. They can't be ordered separately.

I don’t see the point of it when the card works just fine and I don’t want to wear anything additional on my wrist. I barely want to wear my watch.

We just got home from Aulani and I could not get the daily pool wristband off my wrist fast enough each night. It’s a sensory thing.

Maybe skip the watch & wear a magic band? You can get the time on your phone.

Under the MDE portion of the Disney Word website is a spot that says "My Plans." Your Beach Club stay should be listed there, if not you can add it by Reservation #. Right next to that is the spot to order the Magic bands.

On the MDE mobile app, click Future Plans, make sure your stay is listed. Scroll down to "My Profile" open it, and there is an option for Magic Bands. I think the Website should be easier to work with than the app.

Aw man, I didn't know using mobiles to get the ride photos is buggy..
This trip may well be our last (1st and last for the girls) trip due to cost of flights etc. Such a shame to have to buy at least two sets of effectively one-use pieces of technology for it 🙈 we had planned to just use the cards for the 4 of us.

Did you get it figured out? On the webpage, I see it in the pull down menu under My Disney Experience. It says My Magic Bands and Cards and then order or check status underneath the header.

If you are staying at a Disney hotel, the old Magic bands are only $10 pre-order price when you go thru MDE. $20 otherwise.

Actually you have a hotel, you can select the pre-order MagicBands in the MDE app by going to "Resort Hotel" and scrolling down to your reservation and selecting "Choose MagicBand"
