Updated Disney Gift Card Deals and More

Question regarding the $10 off a $150+ Visa gift card at Meijer which I finally purchased today:
Does this particular type of card work for utility-type payments (electricity, internet service, etc.)? It was my understanding that it generally would work as long as it was a so-called "one time" payment. But the card did not work when I tried it a few minutes ago, surprising me. The internet provider was a flat No, and the electricity provider displayed an odd message about "pending" which I'm about 99% sure means they are going to say no in a day or two.

Is it better to stick with virtual cards for this kind of thing? That's okay, as I can just buy gas over the counter and groceries and stuff, but I was hoping this physical card would work for online payments.

BTW: Saturday the 13th is the last day for this Meijer offer, so get out there! :)

Yes it should work. Some merchants may not take the full value of the card ie if you bought it for $200 then pay $198.73 for example.

Silly Question but did you register the card online with your name and address?

I would also suggest setting a pin # that you you can use the random amount that is left from your utility at Kroger or Meijer by selecting debit and it will pull whatever is left on the card without having to tell the cashier there is so much on it.
 
Okay, thanks. I did register the card, so it should have been possible to match my name and zip code. The pin selection thing I skipped, but I'll go back in and do that tomorrow in case it helps in the future.
 
I remembered I had the Best Buy offer on my AmEx this morning, it expires in two days SMH. I bought the $150 GC, hoping it posts with today or tomorrow’s date … 🤦‍♀️

I had not added mine as I was debating on what card to add it to and now it is gone from both cards :(

OK good you registered the card.

The pin won't help online just in stores to make it easier to use up the last bit on the card (of course you could just buy amazon gc with it)

Again I would try to use less than the full amount when using it for your utilities.

I tried DTE & Consumers Energy, it did not work on DTE. And DTE didn't send any notification until the next payment when the bill doubled in size reflecting the GC wasn't accepted. The cards were registered, no pin.
Water & Sewer, I used Virtual Visa.

DH refuses to pay for utilities again using these methods, he'd rather set a cc on file and leave it alone. Obviously he's a One-Step Andy... but he's my Andy.
 
And while on topic, the Vet accepts prepaid & Virtual Visa & MC, however new this year they've started adding a $3 fee.
Which goes to show, what worked last year may not be the case this year but always try.

Hmm, I think I used full amount of card for one time payment.

Just note, the Pin on the card is the last four digits of the account #.
I've not felt the need to obtain a new one online just to use the prepaid card in-stores.

Kroger Did it Again!

I wasn't in the mood to go grocery shopping yesterday so I thought I'd use my handy dandy:

Kroger cancelled my Boars Head meat & cheese and a few other items. DH went to pick up the items and then went inside the store and sure enough they had plenty. Why do they do this?
I find their service very frustrating and I doubt I'll be using it in the future.
