Well than you need to come visit more often! :)
When we returned to WDW post 2020-21, from our last visit in 2017, we had some catching-up to do - but with successive trips in 2022 and twice already in 2023 - our touring style has definitely changed
Not coming back. Spent may too much time getting to parks than in the parks. We're Disneyland folks. WDW kind of looks like the kind of park Walt was trying to avoid.

We only rideshare anymore - so can't say that I worry about transportation much to the parks. It almost feels like we are cheating as compared to the alternatives!

On Walt, could be ... could be - I don't often try to get in the head's of people no longer with us - unless I am watching Ghost Hunters or Ghost Brothers!

We are visiting DL for the first time in the beginning of June - I hope I am not too disappointed or bored. As of now - four rides will be down for refurbishment from what I understand - so not sure this would have been Walt's ideal experience either ... but times are different ... so we'll just go with the flow ...

Our sump pump died the one time we really needed it and we had a minor flood I. The basement. We added a backup one at that time. It probably comes on about once a week now.

Speaking of household appliances (is a sump pump an appliance) do you leave the fan on your furnace/air conditioner (appliance?) on all of the time? This is an oblong argument of which way is right in our home.
We don't, but I always do it in hotels for white noise.

We stay at the Grand Californian. Love than you can go from one park to the next in less than 5 minutes. We put our wet ride clothes, hit Splash Mountain in DL, walk over to Grizzly Flats in CA, go to our room, get into dry clothes, all in an hour of less.

We are staying at the Grand Californian on this trip - hoping it rises to the hype - looking forward to the parks but more so on the dining experiences ...

We are parks people. While we did eat at Le Cellier at EPCOT and have eat many times at the Blue Bayou at Disneyland, our dining tends to be burgers and such to optimize ride time. We used to love the ESPN Zone but of course it is long gone.

I hope you were able to get a Napa rose reservation. The food is so good there. If you can’t get a reservation you can usually still eat at the bar.

On our first night of arrival - Napa Rose, Lamp Light Lounge for Brunch, Blue Bayou on the second night, and Carthay Circle on night three.
That’s the perfect lineup!! I always email the allergy team a few days ahead of our trip and they prepare GF monte cristos for us at Blue Bayou. it’s such a treat 😊

I stayed at the Grand Californian before Covid and I loved the aesthetic of the resort. I did think the rooms were a little bit worn back then (as in, they could've maybe used a refurb) but being able to walk into DCA in 5 minutes or less was amazing.

when we went to wdw for the first couple of times it always struck us how different the identical ride could be from what we knew at disneyland based on park placement, length or more walking vs. riding (for us-pirates, small world and haunted mansion in particular). main street also feels so much smaller to me at wdw- i can never imagine it with fire engines and other larger vehicals going up and down it like they routinely did when i was younger at disneyland.

Only been to WDW once. Stayed a week, never found time for the resorts. Stayed at the Grand Floridian, and basically were in the room just to sleep.
That's a shame. But you're in CA so not surprising.

We def. enjoyed some things better at DLR but there's 4 parks PLUS Universal Orlando for FL (USH isn't the same as USO for sure) so while we wouldn't mind going back to DLR (especially if it was with friends), WDW offers a lot more for us in the end. There's not much draw to that area of CA for us especially after my husband already spent 9 months out there.

But we still talk about how great Pirates is out there, we're divided on HM because my husband likes DLR better while I like WDW better.

Back in 2019 we did 3 days park hopper each trip (ended up being 2 trips) and that was enough for us. But back then there was MaxPass which is the precursor to Genie+. We just hated how you felt if you didn't purchase MaxPass you had a harder time getting on attractions so we ended up purchasing it 5 out of the 6 days total in 2019...which is unfortunately how Genie+ and ILL is with feeling like you need to purchase it however Genie+ and ILL seems to work out better with DLR due to slight differing rules.

And I say this perspective because it was my first time in DLR in 2019 since I was a toddler (so almost 30 years at that point) and my husband had never been. DLR is very much a locals park and sometimes the locals forget how it is for those who don't go there all the time.

But I know you'll have fun there :) and you can compare which ride versions you like the best. The beignets were very good, we may have gotten them more than once :rolleyes1 A bummer about the refurbs though :(

Of course we can only guess what Walt would think, but given that his family has pretty much severed ties with the resorts and located the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco as a protest, we have an idea how they feel of the state of Disney.

I didn't mentioned anything about Walt. I am assuming you mention to quote a PP
