Website

It's been arrival day + 6 (7 total days) for more than a decade now.

I'm not saying that's wrong. Just that the further out DVC allows members to book, the more advantage it would give to large point owners.
I don’t know why I had thought this was a recent change. I must not have run into it in a long time due to the split stays we’ve had to do and then forgot that it existed.

I definitely see your point with the large point owners. I don’t know what the best answer is to make the system more fair, because even now it’s like a science to try to work out tactics to get the room you want (and it isn’t even necessarily Disney’s fault). So it really is what it is and I have to deal with it, but I just hate having to add a night a day lol.

I'd say at this point an apology email from somebody at DVC is warranted. How many times can they do backend system updates and have it break the website?

ETA: My assumption is whatever they did on the backend caused a memory leak or something like that which is what was making the site go into virtual queue mode -- not so much the number of visitors, but the resources it was taking to pull from the database, etc. It just seems like this happens every single time.

I have been waiting all day to make a reservation because today was my 7 month window. I finally just did a chat with them asking if I had to call in if I wanted to make the reservation since the site was down. I haven't had time to sit on the phone. The chat was actually quick. Got my reservation. Just linked it to my MDE :)

Back to Olaf - what gets me is we pay for this IT through our dues, pretty poor effort from DVC😡

You don't have to do it every day, if you're booking at 11 months. You can wait until day 6 (11 months from the day before checkout day) and add several nights then. Just don't wait until 11 months from checkout day, because someone could get your extra nights.

With a 7-month booking, you do need to add day by day because an owner could swoop in and book ahead of you.

Thank you. My daughter was making her first reservation, 7 month window. She found the chat button and done in a few minutes. She's so excited!

Seriously it’s time for them to punt - to back out the changes and make their customers whole. This code obviously needs more testing.

Mine just came up, 5 minutes after I found out there was something going on today. Everything looks good.

Edit-Never mind. Everything looks good now 😅

I just got back in but none of my trips are showing (we currently have three). How worried should I be?? Because I’m not going to lie, I am kind of worried 😧

I can't get in at all. I just keep getting Olaf whenever I try to go to the login screen. :(
