Wish Cruise for Two Adults - Should We Keep It?

Except they tried to do the same thing on the Dream and the area was too small. They learned from that and put Satellite Falls in on the Fantasy. Why make the adult area smaller than your other two ships that hold the same amount of people but the adult area is still full?
I'm not arguing with the fact that it's smaller. I'm stating that an 84/16 split is not a normal sailing demographic no matter the time of year for any Disney cruise. We simply don't know what the Wish demographics will look like at that point in time.

Yes, school will be back in session, but it is also time for fall break. The last week of September is fall break for a lot of metro atlanta, which is within driving distance to Disney and the port. Both are popular destinations for atlanta families, so I bet there will be lots of kids on the sailing.

I don’t cruise isn February 3rd-6th, 2023 and February 6th-10th, 2023 and I can’t wait to see for myself.

Even with all the negative reviews I’ve read I also heard great things from friends who I cruised with in past and have been a few times already.

Since this will be our second 4 night cruise, we may just stay on the ship when docked at Castaway Cay to take advantage of the empty adults pool area. Thank you for that info!
I know on other ships I usually get off early when we can and get back on the ship about 12:30pm-1:30pm and ship is never crowded. Hope that’s the case for February at wish for Castaway cay too

I never rely on reviews. Everyone is different with wants and expectations. I take negativity with a grain of salt and prefer to make my own mind up. I am platinum and headed on the Wish next Monday for a B2B. No regrets.
Don't cancel! I agree that you should not rely on other reviews. We are scheduled in November and can't wait to sail. Who knows whether or not we will like it as much as the other four ships, but that remains to be seen. Worst case is we don't book it again.

We didn't have any plans to cancel. We are excited to cruise on the Wish one week from today. We are positive people so we won't be comparing to the other ships and won't be looking for the negatives.

I will be on the cruise after yours and am very excited to check out the newest ship. I am good just being on the ship and as long as there is some place for me to lounge and eat, I am a very happy lady.

When we sailed DCL and other Cruise Lines our Modus Operandi was similar but that changed with our now favorite Cruise Line. Since the ship stays overnight adding hours of Island Time a second day, it's a more Leisurely Modus Operandi now.

Please report back your experience. All of these comments have encouraged us to keep the sailing. We won’t be looking for any negatives. I just want to adjust my expectations and maybe be pleasantly surprised!

Currently on the Wish. It's a beautiful ship and we are having a good time. I'd say the biggest drawback is the adult pool/area. It's nice, but it's a postage stamp. Plus there are no steps to get in and out of the pool. There is only a ladder and if you have any type of mobility issues, it's going to be a struggle. There is also zero shade for the loungers. We are pool people and had to cut out early because of the sun and no shade. We've found another great pool with shade, so we will hang out more in that area.

DH and I have a b2b late Oct/early Nov. After reading lots of negative reviews, I was tempted to cancel the second one (3 nighter in a smaller room) but decided to keep it-figure it's a new enough ship to us that we can continue to explore on the second cruise. I doubt we'll return but giving it 2 cruises for a chance to impress feels like the right thing for us.

This is encouraging news for me. My concern is not getting a chair in the sun. ;)

Palo Steakhouse is getting rave reviews.
Palo is extremely difficult to book especially for couples. For the first time in 12 cruises, we were unable to get a Palo reservation on the Wish. Even though there was availability showing at check in the system would not let a party of 2 book in Palo or Enchante. And when we got on board there was nothing left for us but to go on the wait list. I don't think anyone, except for maybe concierge, is guaranteed Palo on a Wish cruise. Maybe when they get more staff availability will increase...

We booked this cruise while on another DCL cruise before any info was out about the Wish. Hearing all of the negativity about the adult areas, we are wondering if we should keep this cruise. It is for the last week in Sept 2023 so school will be in session. But will that effect the overcrowding at the adult areas? It is a 4 night cruise so we will be able to experience all of the rotational dining. But I am hearing the theaters are very small. Any comments from previous adult cruisers on the Wish would be appreciated!!
Just got off the Wish and I can understand your concern. Alot depends on what is on your list of favorite things to do. Even with many of my favorites not being available I was able to have a good time.

I did find the chairs cramped in the main theater. I'm 5'3" tall with short legs and my knees were right up against the chair in front of me ( I was in a balcony seat so maybe that was the reason). I did miss the lounge chairs in the shade and easy availability of Cove cafe with their pastry/treat cabinet. But I found other places to grab a drink and curl up with my book. The souvenir shop was a mob scene and very narrow and hard to navigate in the crowds.

I did love the mixology class and the wine tasting that I was able to get into. Palo and Enchante were completely unavailable to us because most of their tables are reserved for parties of four or more.

I was on a 3 night cruise though so you should have better luck with a 4 night cruise. We had very little Bingo scheduled, and all the trivia games were on Disney themes which if that is what you like then that is right up your alley. The movie theater was incredibly small too, but that didn't affect us as we weren't interested in any of the movies they were showing this time. I just popped into one to see what it was like for future reference.

I do recall seeing a ship tour available and drawing classes too, so if you like things like that you will be fine.

Thanks for your reply. I was concerned about the seating in the theaters. Like you we need some shade. Also we are now gold so I don’t know the probably getting a Palo/Enchante reservation. But you have set my expectations! Thank you for that.

I never rely on reviews.

Yup just look at the shrunken adult pool area, removal of true adult consolidated area, and the signals are there this ship is going the opposite direction for Adults.

Didn't need reviews and brought this up on reveal like over a year ago.

I just got off of the Disney Wish on Friday and already booked my next on for December 2023. I absolutely loved it. I’m 38 by the way. I did have my 16 yo son with me, but we were only together for dinner and certain events. Otherwise he was roaming the boat with friends he connected with. There definitely are a lot of pros/cons to the boat and everyone has their own opinion. What I loved the most was wandering around the boat and enjoying the atmosphere. The decor is mind blowing. Each level and the way it’s different than the other Disney cruise boats is amazing. This time we were in a Frozen room on Deck 6, which consisted of two pictures from Frozen and the carpet outside of our room was Frozen theme. I didn’t really do many adult activities, since I’m single and I don’t mingle well with others. But I did check out several of the bars/lounges and enjoyed everything they had to offer. I did some trivia and karaoke; which is definitely out of my comfort zone. The food in my opinion was delicious. Especially at the Marvel restaurant. I wasn’t impressed with the Frozen experience. I was more intrigued my the art work that was hanging up in the hallway to the restaurant. It was like you were in their house. It was definitely hard to get around; I got lost a few times. But after day two, I was fine. The hallways where the staterooms are, are a bit narrow. So I didn’t like that. I’ve only been on the Magic and Dream; and Dream is my favorite of those two. I’m still deciding between the Wish and Dream. I definitely think if you enjoy going on Disney cruises, it’s well worth giving it a chance. Good luck!

Also, I love Moana and the Moana decor they had on the boat brought me to tears. I was just bummed they didn’t have any Moana stuff to purchase from any of the shops. I wasn’t as excited about the shops as I thought I would be. Meh. But next year, we’ll be staying on Deck 10 and our room theme is Moana. So I’m excited about that. My daughter who’ll be 15, who’s special needs, I’m sure is going to just love it.

Our stateroom is 7140. Would you happen to know what themed room we have? I didn’t know each floor has its own “ themed” rooms. Thanks for your review!
