The title says it all

As someone who brags about a product when do I start bringing up the holidays some are doing it as of now, now is too early by my standards

I shop throughout the year. We're a family of 6, I have to get a lot of stuff. I pick up things as I see them. Also, I'll shop when we're on vacation--we were in Hawaii this summer--there are things I can't get back home, so I buy them early. I also start early on making gifts, since the holidays can be such a crunch time. I'll set up my wrapping station on Oct. 1 or so.

I'm a "pick things up whenever" shopper too. I think I've technically started the week after Christmas before.

Sometime in the fall, I do take an inventory of what I've already bought, then start filling in the gaps with more purposeful Christmas shopping.

If I see something throughout the year, I pick it up and put it aside. Last Christmas I put away a gift for my daughter and found it a couple months after Christmas. Now I know to write things down. I don't have to buy for as many people as I used to. There were a lot of people at my husband older job. My husband and I don't really exchange, we'll get each other something small. We put a lot of money into the house.

I usually start around the fall. My sister's birthday is in November so I tend to buy her present + something else for Christmas at the same time. I also buy the majority of gifts online and I want to make sure they're delivered in time for the holidays. This year my family will be at WDW for Christmas so I'm going to buy smaller gifts so I'm able to bring them with me to Florida.

Theoretically, I shop throughout the year, but I usually can’t wait to give the gifts to my kids and husband. I also find that when I shop early, I end up spending more, so this year I’m going to try to wait until early November. Wish me luck! 😃

I hate Christmas shopping. I do as much of it as possible online because I can’t stand going to actual stores anymore. Can’t stand the crowds and rude/ignorant people. I usually start browsing online in October.

We don’t have a ton of people to buy for. I keep an ideas sheet. This year, the big gift for my DD and SIL, will be a Yeti cooler. If there are any deals, I will pounce on them. Best research I have says previous years, on Black Friday…there was an offer to get free ice packs with the purchase of a Yeti. But in general, once I have the list, i will keep an eye out for a good deal, and get it at that time. We have 2 grandsons, 1 and 3 years old, we contribute to a 529 plan, so don’t get them big gifts, and we rely on our DD for suggestions, which must include a toy, and we don’t mind getting clothes too.

We celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah, and we have 5 kids which means a TON of gifts. I buy stuff all year and put it away. But it’s still never enough and I end up doing the bulk of my shopping in November/December

I do most of my Christmas shopping online. I pile up the boxes in the corner and wait until everyone is out of the house to open them do the gift wrapping. This year will be a little different. My son is moving across the country in a few weeks. He will be home for Christmas, but I have to be careful to only give him things that he can take back on the plane. I could also have him unwrap IOUs for bigger gifts and then have them shipped directly to his apartment after he gets home. He and his GF will likely still need kitchen or household items, so I'll see what they need as Christmas gets closer. I will definitely be giving them gift cards they can use around their new city.

;)

I hear stories about people Christmas shopping in March or earlier. But what happens if the person you purchased for gets run over by a dump truck in October??? It's too late to return the gift for a refund, and you run the extreme risk of embarrassment if you try to re-gift it to someone else.

It's safer to delay shopping until December 20th, You have the strong possibility they'll be alive on Christmas. :duck:

Don't miss the frantic shopping for our kids. Both our kids got Razor scooters for Christmas 2000, the year they first went on sale. $100 each. LOL now they sell for $29.
Our granddaughters are 6 months and 3 years old so shopping for them is still easy.
Pretty much anymore Christmas shopping starts two weeks before Christmas. With next day delivery, it's usually done and everything here 10 days before Christmas. Plenty of time to wrap gifts.
