Those using Chase offers to buy gift cards. Do you ever get anything so the amount wont be even
at checkout? Does chase even care? I did 3 80 dollar giftcards in separate transaction and wondered if
I should have thrown in a pack of gum or something. lol

I have purchased a number of them from BB, Staples, and OD over the last few years with no other items and got the credit just fine.

For the staples fee free VGC/MGC, I usually buy 5 and nothing else so an even 1000. No problems.

I’ll be curious to hear which of your Disney purchases track at 5x on the CFF. If I had to guess, only tickets would track - and maybe G+/ILL$. Let us know!
I just went back and looked at my May purchases of G+ and ILL on a Chase card. They both coded as Entertainment, one says WDW Expedited Access, the other WDW Ticket add-on. I bet they would work for 5X

That would be cool. Even more awesome if also good on merch and food, but if it doesn't work for those, we could use like the BOA Custom for mobile orders and shopping and the Freedom for G+/ILL.

I'm trying to hit my Amex Gold spend bonus, is why I'd like to know if 4% dining works there. If a decent conversion, I was thinking exchanging for Marriott for Dolphin.

All of my dining purchases at DS and resort hotels coded as dining for Chase, with the name of the restaurant listed. We didn't do much dining in the parks, and I used my gift cards there.

ill put a different perspective of this than others...
Chase cares if its not a usual event. If one day u just go out and buy $500 at blah store out of random, it will trigger fraud.
I had this happen when trying to buy $500 Best Buy Gift cards at CVS... my chase went fraud, my citi went fraud... i gave up after that lol.
Once u get some habits in though, chase/citi/amex just doesnt care...

So I took a gamble and applied for GE... but the next appointment near me isn't until March. When does the "clock" start ticking (GE is good for 5 years, right?) Is it from date of application, or of the appointment, or...?

Are you going to Sky Harbor? If so periodically login and look for earlier appointments. I checked once a day or once every few days for a couple of weeks and a bunch a appointments were released for much sooner. To answer your question the 5 years starts once your fully approved. So usually a couple of days after your interview.

You have a couple of options if hoping for an appointment sooner:
1. Keep refreshing the calendar, appointments open up at random times. Sometimes it will say "No appointments available at this location." but if you refresh over the course of a week, something will pop up.
2. Use a twitter bot type service to find open appointments. I've not tried this but it's popular on reddit https://twitter.com/GlobalEntryNow
3. Interview upon an international arrival

Braces down payment was $1500 today. That hurt a little paying on an existing card. They couldn't hold the payment till Monday w/ the down payment "match" promo they were offering. I did put it on my OG CIC since I have 0% on that still until November, LOL. Looks like about $550/mo in charges for their braces too. So, I guess I'll at least get 3 mos of that spend on the new card, LOL. Plus I'll have my taxes too, so hopefully the $7500 is easy to hit. .

I tried earlier using a movie ticket and it didn’t work. Had the message ticket purchase must be over $100. I added a ticket over $100 and I couldn’t get a discount price from Budget. It had budget as unavailable.🤷‍♀️

Thankfully, I made a Costco reservation as a backup. Glad I did if I can’t get UCT to work.
I tried tonight w/ the drink, and it looks like it worked. But the "savings" were only $10 w/ the "bundle". So who knows. Definitely not cheaper than Costco. I wish people understood some things should be gate kept and not shared w/ the masses to go viral. GRRRR!

I never add anything extra. But more often lately I'm doing the OD offers which aren't $400...they are like $394.60, LOL. I do buy VGC at Staples though using my Amex Surpass even.

Saturday will be four weeks since I applied for a CIU--my first business card. The day after I applied I got an email that I had to confirm identity, which was a quick phone call. There was a hard pull on my credit, but I have had no other indication one way or the other since then. I was at 2/24 at the time of application.
This is so frustrating as I'm holding off on a major tuition payment, but I'm about out of time.
Is this normal? Is there anything I should do? Isn't there a time limit when they have to let me know?

I know the status line doesn't always work for biz but have you tried it?

If you have any chase logins have you checked your documents? They will sometimes put letters there and not notify you of it.

If you aren't afraid of any potential questions I would just call and talk with someone. Recon isn't open on the weekend but maybe a reg csr can at least let you know status.

At this point I’d call and see if you can get any updates, this long does not seem normal to me…who know they may have sent you something that was lost in the mail

Yes- I didn't feel it reasonable to drive to Douglas to do it! (Although... maybe I can convince my husband to take a day motorcycle trip down there with me next month when it's not QUITE so miserable... hmmm)

I will keep looking; thanks!

3. Interview upon an international arrival
Thank you... When you say #3 interview upon an international arrival... I'm going to Canada at the end of September (which is what the gamble was... trying to see if I could get it BEFORE I left the States)... do you mean when I get back home I can get an appointment automatically...? Seems too good to be true...

At certain locations you can do your interview when you go through inspection.

"If you are a conditionally-approved Global Entry applicant, save time and participate in Enrollment on Arrival."

"The EoA program eliminates the need for a Global Entry applicant to schedule an interview at an enrollment center to complete the application process.

When landing in an international terminal follow the signage directing you to CBP officers who can complete your Global Entry interview during your admissibility inspection."

In Canada you do customs before boarding the plane back to the US so it looks like there are 8 airports you can do your interview.

The full list of locations, hours, and requirements in the link below.

Interesting- thank you!

As a side note... an appointment in Tucson (about 90 minutes from me) just opened for next week so I guess I will do that one!
