***Official DLR September & October 2022 Check-in Thread***

I am severely missing the old dining plans. I'm so stressed out about not knowing exactly how much money we might spend for food. I see people say they've never spent more that $50 a day for their family in the parks. And I'm like No, corn dogs alone are $10 each! lol

We'll be eating breakfast in our room each morning but want to eat in the parks for lunch and dinner because that's just part of the experience. I'm not looking to cheap out on our food budget I just wish I had a better idea. I've been analyzing all the food prices and creating a spreadsheet for what we'll eat. But maybe this is just how I'm coping with the boredom of having the trip all planned and just waiting for departure day.

I dunno if this will help but this is how I budget and we always come in very close or under.

15 per person per meal for quick service.
For table service or pre fixed I look and the menu and guess what we might order and then add 20% tip.
$60 per day for snacks (15 per person per day of us)

And then I add 10% to the number.

So now they are back to 3am PST? I was still under the impression it was 6am PST. Oh my gosh Disney, have some consistency!
Yep, got up this morning at 3AM...well not really, I fell back asleep! haha. So I was late by a few minutes. But still able to get what I wanted.

We will see tomorrow. I try for Fantasmic. Not too hopeful on that one.

Also I got Carthay for the 20th of September that I missed out on on last Friday. Quite frankly there were openings for there this whole next week. I thought hummmm.

Are you going for the River Belle premium seating for Fantasmic? I'm not visiting until early November (so stalking earlier check-in threads for info), but that's one of the few I'm going for. It's our only opportunity to view since DH has knee problems and can't sit on the ground (well without a VIP tour, which is out of the budget lol). Hoping for pixie dust for you tomorrow morning! 🤞

Yes, I'll let you know how it goes.

Usually we do Disneyland in early June. This is our first time going in late September. How does the weather compare to June? Also, has anyone heard of the silhouette shop will be opening for fall?

Today was the beginning of the end for me!

I'd been testing it the past few days and thankfully things had been dropping at 6a again 😃

Got Trader Sam's for our first night! Easy peasy with a side of anxiety refreshing that app tho lol
my dates aren't open yet, but -- 6:00 a.m. in what time zone? I'm in CA so obviously I'm trying to nail down what time Pacific 😜

Ok, the lack of rhyme or reason when it comes to disneyland reservations is astonishing :rotfl:

Didn't get up with my alarm today since I only needed Cafe Orleans and knew it wouldn't be an issue. My boyfriend still nudged me awake with "2 minutes!" so I sleepily went to cue things up on the app and.. oh its 5:58 and everything recently dropped??! :upsidedow

If they could just come to an agreed time on when to release things.. that'd be great lol

Also saw the cutest ewok dress from Her Universe yesterday and I'm kicking myself for not buying the ears from shop disney a few months ago!

2 weeks until I start making dinning reservations. Whoooo!

I also just wanted to share with you all. This October trip is not only the make up Covid trip for my kiddos, we splurged on the DLH in celebration of my completion of my doctorate, which happened yesterday! CB479D06-252E-44EC-B5A8-A195A285C6AA.jpeg

I know this gets asked a bunch, but would love thoughts -- I'm flying into LAX (easier coming from Newark on United), and should get in around 11:30 AM PT on a Wednesday. Any thoughts on transportation?
  • I'm fine taking Lyft/Uber if I can get a ride -- not sure if that's beyond the realm of how far folks are willing to drive
  • Last time I was there for the expo I took the Disneyland Express via Coach (?) which I guess no longer exists?
I'm fine paying extra if it means I'll get there faster; one time I took a group shuttle and we detoured to a random residential neighborhood for quite a while. I'd like to avoid that if possible lol.
