***Official September 2022 Thread***

FYI for everyone. There is a known issue today with tickets disappearing from My Disney Experience. I called DVC member services. They said IT told them there is a known issue today, and they are working on it. Tickets are still linked, just not showing. Trying to save everyone else a phone call.
I finally linked tickets and MNSSHP today. Circle took forever to the point I assumed it would fail but eventually went through. We'll see if they're still there tomorrow...

Am I too late to join? We just decided last week to take a short trip without our kids. I don't think they will be very happy when they find out, but we are planning a family trip next year, so maybe they will forgive us.

I've always wanted to stay Deluxe, so we are doing 2 nights at Wilderness Lodge! I'm so excited. We're a family of 5 so that would never happen with all of us going. We used the Disney+ discount. And I booked our flights yesterday with the Southwest 40% deal that came out yesterday. Saving as much as we can with these great deals.

A little change in plans, I called in and was able to switch from WL to YC club level, keeping the 25% off discount.

So we will now be checking off GF for the last of the monorail resorts we haven’t stayed in and YC for Epcot resorts. So excited for this trip!

Yay! Adult only trips are so much fun.

You'll get flashes of guilt though. Just brush it off. When I feel guilty about going without everyone, I just think back to all the complaints, "Why do we have to get up so early? I want the back seat. I don't like the backseat anymore, I want the middle seat. Why do we have to eat here? Why do we have to keep our bed folded up? Why do we have to ride that? How long is this line? Why can't we go back to the hotel? Do we have to go to a park again? Why do we have to eat here? Why do we have to stay out so late? Why can't I play LOUD music in my headphones all night?" (Answer to that one, because it sounds like a giant mosquito is in the room, and I can't sleep.

And those were all from teenagers+. When hubby and I go alone together it's so relaxing. Don't get me wrong I do love to go on vacation with the kids too, but there is nothing better than a vacation alone with hubby.

Too funny but so true. All my grandkids are grown now, but...we have a new one, only 1 1/2, so it's been so long since all the stuff you mentioned and the baby is too small for that stage to begin. I'm just looking forward to sitting back and letting the parents enjoy the baby while I watch....or babysit when they want to go on the big rides. It's all good!

Hi all! DH, DD (3) and I just booked our dream vacay 9/5 - 9/9 staying for the first time at The Grand Floridian! We're beyond excited - wanted to honeymoon there 8 years ago but it was cheaper (even then) to travel internationally. We're booked in one of the new Resort Studios in the renovated BPK. We were hoping to stay in the standard VGF with a view of the monorail for DD, but guess we will "rough it" in the RS (completely kidding)! ;)

Our last trip was DD's first in March 2021 and we only did MK. But we're going for the grand slam this trip with two parks per day for two days. Wish us luck (and a non-grumpy toddler)!!

Excited to join you all in September 2022!

Hello! Family of 5 here, traveling between September 12-20!!

It's been a few years since we've been in the parks and we are eager to return to our Happy Place! We'll be staying offsite this time and renting a car as well. Tentatively planning 4-5 days in the parks, a day at Universal, in addition to some time spent poolside and checking out local attractions.
Welcome in @Mapple Mouse and the Family!!! We are so glad you joined us here in the September 2022 Group!! That is so nice returning to your Happy Place and I know the September Group here agrees. We all love our Happy Place. :goofy: As Disney's 50th Anniversary song says "The Magic is Calling📞 to a place where Dreams Come True." Love that song and cant wait to hear it in September. 🎶 Great Plan with pool,🌊 parks and just enjoying what the area has to offer. I will add you to the CountDown List and we look forward to seeing you here for more Planning!! :welcome:

Hi @Jessrobian and Welcome in to the September 2022 Group!!!!! :welcome: I know you and your family are starting to have so much fun planning this dream vacation. Your 3 year old :earsgirl:will have soooo much fun. Seeing Disney through the eyes of children is the Best. The studios rooms will be new and fresh and the pictures I have seen look such a nice room remodel. You will have a Great Building at Big Pine Key. Such a good location. Your plan sounds like a good one to get everything in you want to do. We also arrive on the 5th at the Grand Floridian!! We have never stayed there so we are very excited. My daughter has a 14 month old, and a 6 year old so we may be complete chaos at times (Lol). It will all be Great!!! My saying is any day at Disney is a Good Day........... Congratulations on your trip and I will add you to the CountDown List. We are excited you joined and we will see you here for more Disney Planning.:tigger:

Hi @tinabina919 Changed on the CountDown List to Yacht Club club level!!!! Congrats

We just changed our plane tickets to come in earlier and start the universal leg of our trip with a little less stress. Dates are the same but now we’ll take an extra day off school and arrive in the afternoon instead of middle of the night. My husband and oldest daughter are not going to like that… but I started getting so stressed about all the flight cancellations and delays… if we have the last flight of the night I feel like the odds are good we would have been stuck and maybe even missing our universal day altogether.

So, ignoring that two of us will be very grouchy about missing school… now I theoretically have an evening at City Walk!

Anyone done the chocolate emporium?

I think that was a good plan :)
Flights are so volatile these days!

We planned to drive down next week, but flight prices dropped significantly yesterday (back up somewhat morning). DH and i waffled because concerns about delays and cancelations , so we were going to try the late night flight the day before for buffer time if flight was a no go. Would have gotten 3 more vacation days had I booked it and no driving. Shoulda coulda woulda lol 😆

Thinking of going to the chocolate emporium next week with my inlaws! If we eat there I'll report back.

(June is our family trip, Sept trip is adult DD and I for a long weekend, mainly to do MNSSHP but I added a park hopper day in)

Can’t wait to hear about it! Glad I’m not the only one that’s still making adjustments

Sounds like you were wise to change things up. I was at the chocolate emporium on opening and the line was stupendous! Did make it in but it was so crowded I don't even remember whether I was impressed or not...LOL! We are doing one night at HHN during our Sept stay. It sounds like you have a great plan! All of us here are so excited for our upcoming trips. It's my great grand baby's first trip at one and a half years old! Seven of us are going. Four generations!

Myself, hubby and 13-year-old daughter will be at POFQ Sept 4 - Sept 10. We are hopping over to Universal for HHN on one night. This will be my daughter's 13th trip and last year of middle school so likely our last trip during the school year.

I have the top small drawer in my dresser dedicated to Disney stuff we need for the parks
I have a Disney box on the top shelf in my closet! :earboy2:

This will be DH and my first trip without kids. Our kids (22 and 18) haven't been too interested in returning to Disney after our 2018 trip (I know, right?!) even though they had a great time on that trip. But even though my daughter (the 18 yo) doesn't really want to go, she was still very surprised to hear we are going without her! :scratchin

You'll get flashes of guilt though.
I'm very worried about this, but hopefully I'll be able to push through. :thumbsup2

Now why have I not thought of a Disney Box or Drawer before your posts? I am always scrambling around looking for my Disney stuff I have stored from year to year ::yes:: usually the week before the trip. I am off until Tuesday and I am going to make a Disney Box. :yay: Mission Will Be Accomplished (lol)
