STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

Has anyone made a reservation for a group of six (or more) and compared the price per person between two standard cabins vs. the Captain suite? Looking at four adults and two teens.
I first booked with 4 people. Made my first change to add an additional person. Second change to add 2 more. No Captain suites available and I actually booked the last standard cabin for my dates. Today the dates were open again so I called in the off chance maybe once of the cancelations was a suite. No luck.

Cost wise the larger room works out better than 2 standard cabins. The 2 standard cabins will allow everyone to have either a bed or bunk. I may try again closer to the 90th day but not counting on either of the only 2 suites being available.

Wow! Amazing that you loved it so much you are already booking additional cruises... Just curious to know - are you planning to actually do both cruises (assuming conditions work out as hoped), or are you planning to cancel one of these, either Life Day or NYE?
It really depends...we really want to go on New Years...but if they really do a life day...I mean like different, then I will want to do life day...I don't know...hence both resi's...New Years can also be different...ugh

This doesn't answer your question since different party mix but a directional datapoint just for a number to add to the advice above, but the GCS for a party of four in March was around $11,700.

If anyone else is looking at the math I’ve got a group of 7 adults / 1 child going in a CS in August and with insurance and captains table 1 night the cost is coming in a little less than $1700/adult.

So ...well I booked 2 more cruises on the GS...wife will either kill me or she will love me. We shall see.

The reason for 2 is one date (Nov. 16th) has Batuu Excursion on Life Day. Cast member did tell me that they are waiting on official word of Life Day stuff for Starcruiser. And the 2nd date is the Dec. 30th thru Jan 1st sailing....also word is that it will be a little bit different for New Years.

So if nothing winds up different for Life Day...I will probably skip the cruise and just do Batuu trip, but keep the New Years trip. So the hint that they are going to do something different in November is that date...in the middle of the week is the same price as New Years Eve. Most weekday rates are cheaper than weekend...but for some reason this Wednesday sailing in November is expensive. Also the guy who is in charge of the design and development just talked about Life Day stuff and trying to figure out how to do it. The article link was posted on here a few pages back.
Thought your 1st booking was 5/4/22 - did I remember correctly??
I just completed my first SWGS Cruise (3/39-3/31), and am plotting a future trip to bring the granddaughters. It will not be this year, but I would love your feedback on all 3 trips, so I can assess the "Life Day" & "New Year's" itineraries. I'd also be interested to see if they do anything diffferent over Christmas.

Yes my original was May the 4th, but I had to have massive open heart surgery because of a birth defect...so I have a new aorta and new mechanical aortic valve...so we were not sure if I would be recovered in time to go...so we cancelled....then when it was determined that I was fit after a grueling rehab..the 4th was gone, so Disney found me the very next available...hence the end of March trip.

Is it really? Wow.
Yuup - Only 2 Grand Captain Suites and 4 Galaxy Class Suites. I went with a friend, and we shared a Galaxy Class Suite, so as to have separate sleeping areas. The additional room is beautiful, with a large couch, separate chair, closet, dressing area with mirror, and its adjacent to a mini bar with 2 stools, & a fridge , plus there's a small sink and a shelf with cups/glasses. The decor is awesome, efficient, and mostly comfortable. The pull-out bed, however, is under-sized for an adult, and it's a head-banging hazard, as it's partially under the TV-Wall when deployed. I wound up sleeping on the couch both nights. That's the only negative I experienced. Our cabin was on the 4th level, which is the same level as the dining room, engineering room, light-saber training, the brig, and the climate simulator, so it was very convenient for all the activities. I recommend paying for one meal at the Captain's table, as it really helped include us in the story lines.
I would also recommend purchasing the CSL-Portrait Experience; the professional photos were well worth the money!

Checked my data pad today and it looks like my full itinerary has posted. Except for our Batuu Transport. It says to see a Crew Member to schedule it. Does that mean I have to wait until we are on board? We'd like to get on one of the earlier transports, so if I don't have to wait, I'd rather not.

Can I call them to schedule it like I did the Captain's table and the Portrait Experience?

Thanks, and sorry if this has already been answered.

You could try calling, but I wouldn't stress too much about it. We were scheduled later than we wanted (we had 9:20, but we wanted the earliest we could go). The morning of Day 2, we visited with a cast member at the departure area and she told us just to come back when they started (about 8-8:10). There were 6 people total, including us, on the first transport.

Not a big deal...you can go anytime you want. I am not even sure why they have reserved transport times..maybe for immersion?

Could you comment on how comfortable the couch was to sleep on? We have a Galaxy suite booked so my DS15 will have his own space at night and just to have some extra room. He is about 5'10" at this point and growing. I really don't want him to be uncomfortable. My choices are to keep what we have for the extra space or downgrade to a regular room so he can have a bunk, but, obviously, we give up the living room. I'm not willing to upgrade to GC even if it were available.

My brother slept on the couch and said it was very comfortable.

The pull down bed is very futon-y. My daughter slept on it and she was fine. But I agree it’s a little iffy for adults.

I loved having the extra room and thought the suite was very nice - and so I would keep the suite - it essentially doubles your living space.

Headed home from our 9 days in Central Florida. Our Starcruiser trip was scheduled on days 3-5 - my family of 5 loved it (kids ages 17, 14, and 8) and agreed that it was a solid 8.5/10 on the scale of things we’ve ever done. Here’s random assortment of thoughts I had. (Photos in the post following)

Thoughts/Ramblings:
1. Make sure your costume/clothes have pockets or come with some sort of costume inspired bag. Both myself the 8 year old constantly had to figure out where to put our datapads when not needed. Our costumes consisted of robes off Etsy, clothing we already owned and supplemental pieces off Amazon.
2. Wear an Inspired Batuu outfit - we got tees that matched our outfit/costume and shorts. It’s too hot to wear a full getup. On the flip side wearing full gear onboard is fine as the temperature was comfortable for layers.
3. Be an early riser on Batuu if possible. Our data pad said 8:20am but nobody was checking so we got on right before 8am - we stood standby for Rise and Smugglers with 20ish min waits and enjoyed them again later when the lines were ridiculous with our passes.
4. Do the jobs and scans on Batuu - these unlocked several cool missions that were pivotal to the storyline onboard later that night. On one such mission that was invite only - had only 30ish people - and it was AMAzing!
5. This may go without saying but with one room and one shower - we staggered evening showers and stayed out of the stateroom until the people before us were done. This also helped the little guy fall asleep with less interruptions - though since it was past 10PM most nights that wasn’t a problem.
6. Ladies - no bench in the shower - shave prior to arrival…the shower pressure was off the charts and I felt the towels to be more plush then those of our deluxe resort.
7. Don’t overpack - we used one packing cube per person - and a toiletry & shoe suitcase. Everything fit well and we never felt crowded with 5 in our regular room. I’d rather spend money elsewhere because we were hardly there. We did have our own vehicle and were able to leave the rest of the trip luggage in it.
8. Worth it? Yes? I wouldn’t go if you can’t afford it but if you can save for it - do it. You just can’t get the cast member sort interaction anywhere else. It was phenomenal -especially if you were just roaming around and someone asked you for help
9. 1000% buy the photo package. We had ours at 2pm on Batuu day and it was perfect to come back early and eat lunch and get changed back into costumes.
10. Charge your devices during meals! You really don’t need them then and it was great to get a slight screen break. Consider a charging station pictured below - ours held our 5 iPhones.
11. We slept in - ate breakfast later and didn’t leave until the very end, 10AM. If you don’t have plans that next day go for it.
12. We personally preferred the tees and pins at the Pop-up shop after you left. I spent more money on souvenirs there then onboard.

There are slight dislikes.
1. My son has peanut and tree nut allergies. For the price I had hoped they’d accommodate with desserts better. The food for meals was easily chosen and brought from the kitchen with their allergy protocol. My survey strongly suggested carrying prepackaged Enjoy Life or other products onboard for people that take cross contamination seriously. He didn’t get to enjoy the dessert party either. It didn’t ruin our trip but I was slightly sad for him. (We always pack allergy treats so he didn’t go completely without). Along those same lines, I was not a fan of the nut trail mix in the afternoons in the atrium. And every single wrapped treat had a nut warning. Though CMs are constantly cleaning after people in the atrium and I wouldn’t be surprised if they vacuumed the upholstery each night to keep things spotless. My son is not contact/dust reactive.
2. We felt there was about 2-3 hours of downtime on Day 2 before dinner - couldn’t really find anything to do after running around for a full day. A problem, not necessarily, but it felt odd.
3. Don’t push the room droid button until you can all hear it - we couldn’t get it to repeat things or messages when one child did that without all of us present.

Has anyone gotten a CSL gift card? Orange with the CSl logo on them. I bought one off eBay, assuming that like the other Batuu GCs I've bought, someone got one at the park by putting whatever required amount, spe t the money, and then sold the empty GC.
So I was surprised to get a card where the EAN (pin) on the back had not been scratched off and the system at Disney gift card.com won't let me add the card to my "wallet."
Did someone steal an unactivated card and sell it to me so now it is merely a visual prop, not usable?
Sorry if there is a dedicated gift-card thread this q should be on. Just wondering if CSL ones had anything different going on.

The card must be activated with the minimum load requirement at time of purchasr. If it wasn't activated then it's useless as a loadable/spendable GC. You could take it to any Disney point of sale to activate.

Can you share the brand of the charging station? It's hard to see in the picture, I like this one and would like to find it.
