***Official DLR May 2022 Check-in Thread***

Please add us to the list!
We are staying May 29-May 31 at The Camelot. I don't mind, and have wanted to try it again since the refurbished rooms, but it was basically all that was left! I couldn't figure out why and now I see it's because of the Star Wars Celebration convention.

I'm still trying to talk my husband into this, logistically it makes sense because we will only be 4 hours away from Disneyland for something else (a Disney tattoo I'm getting!) vs our usual 11 hours. And by talking him into it, that means:
- park hopper tickets are already bought
-ADRs are already made (got Ogas!)
-hotel reservation is made

Good luck @maleficent55 haha :)

We leave in 37 days... can't wait!
we leave for a 2 week trip to Hawaii tomorrow, he's the type that can't focus on anything but the trip in front of him, I myself, can juggle a bunch and love it! He's also oddly hyper-focused on not having our daughter miss more school where as I am not worried as it's only 5th grade and she's at the top of her class. Whats a few days?!!?

We are finally surprising our kids tomorrow with a special Easter egg hunt at Nana’s house. I printed out ‘Pack your bags because we fly to Los Angeles in five weeks’ and put a single word in individual eggs as an easy puzzle for them to solve. I will be holding the final egg for them to open that has this printed out:157952FC-ED2E-41B4-AEA1-E90CCD586824.jpeg

Y’all, the last time my 77 year old mother and I walked into Disneyland gates was summer of 1978... so to say this will be a full circle moment is kind of an understatement.

This will be our third trip to DLR for my DW, DD15 and DS12 four pack but our first since 2017 (we have been to WDW a few times since 2017).

I cannot wait to reintroduce Nana to Disneyland and show her California Adventure for the first time. Not to mention Galaxy’s Edge! She was the one who took my brother and I to the theaters to see the original Star Wars in 1977.

The kids are going to flip out tomorrow evening when they finally find out.

If you cannot tell, I’m slightly excited about this trip! 😀

We'll be at the parks May 8-12 & we're staying at Ayres Orange. I see Pirates is closed starting March 14th, so hopefully it will reopen by our trip. It's my favorite ride.
great hotel within 2 miles of the park (about a $12 uber ride each way) that includes a great breakfast every morning...we liked it so much we are staying at the Anaheim location this time...great price for 4 nights ($550)

You can add us to the list. We will be there May 15th-18th for a quick trip. It will be myself and daughter 14 and her best friend. It will be Disney Girls trip. Really looking forward to seeing WOC! 🏰 We will be staying at the Suncoast Park Hotel.

Booked a last-minute trip for May 12-15, staying at the DLH and currently stalking for ADRs. Got Lamplight, WoC dessert party, and Trader Sam’s. Just need Oga’s and Carthay Lounge but I’m not too worried because they both have walk up. This has been fun/hard for me because I’m a planner and always book at the 60 day window! But we NEED some Disney magic so it’s happening!

I have a lot of reservations for the April 30th - May 4th timeframe that I’ll be dropping.

If you like this reply, I’ll add you to a chat thread for coordination purposes if anyone wants to try to scoop them. I’m happy to just drop for you to pick up, or to discuss trades if you want something specific. We can turn it into a general group chat for early May reservation drops if anyone else has some.

I have lots of character dining and some DCA stuff that I had thought would be convertible for WOC dining package. But, there’s also some Oga’s, Trader Sam’s, Lamplight, Ballast Point, etc.

p.s. there’s also a MSEP dining for April 26th that I’ll be dropping soon. Pm me separately if you are interested in it.

I'd be interested in what you have on May 4th.

I'm specifically taking my son out in May, because our summer is already jam packed, and once he enters middle school in the fall, it will be more difficult to juggle everything. He'll be able to complete 80% of his work online during our breaks. I wanted to do it over parent teacher conferences in February or Spring Break in March, but DH wouldn't agree to it. So now he's missing 3 days. Oh well.

My brother and his wife do the "talk to me after we get back from this other trip" thing, and it drives me crazy. We're going on an Alaska cruise with them over the summer, and they have booked zero excursions. So much is sold out now.

Do you have lamplight brunch 5/1?

Add me to the list! We’ll be there 5/7-5/11 staying at Desert Inn and Suites. It will be myself, my boyfriend, 17 yo son, 21 yo daughter, daughters finance, and my 9 month old granddaughter.

I’m excited and nervous about potential crowds with the return of so many nighttime shows! Trying to decide if we’re going to suck it up and purchase Genie+ (RIP MP)

Also it’s the first time we’ve been in May and I’m hoping the weather is nice. We’ve been in September when it was sooooo hot and humid and not overly pleasant.

We had to reschedule our trip from this weekend to next weekend and I forgot to post in this thread! It's just a quick one. We arrive on 05 May and depart 08 May. Staying at King's Inn. DL reservations for Friday, Knott's on Saturday, CA reservations for Sunday (flight is at 7pm!)

My cousin lives nearby and wants to join us. But just realized DL reservations are sold out for Friday?! Is it really that busy??

Almost every Friday - Sunday sells out of reservations except for DLR Hotel guests.

Not an update (yet, Uhg), but more of a rant/need to sob to someone, lol. We are planing for May 20-23 and we are coming from a road trip down the west coast from Canada.

We are less than 2 weeks away from leaving and the kids keep getting sick over the last couple months!! Not covid related but colds and flu (some fevers). And now my daughter came home from school again because she is having aches and a fever. They were home schooling up until March and ever since they went back they have been sick. So I assume they are catching everything at school. So now I am all worried that sickness is going to ruin our 20 day trip that I have had planned prior to covid. I started planning fall of 2019 and covid screwed it up. It was a lot of planning and I have essentially updated our plans throughout the covid so that once we were able, we could rebook things. So I’m just frustrated. Even if we are tested and covid free I wonder if they will let us past the border? Normally I assume they wouldn’t care if someone had a cold but with covid around who knows. I just want to get over the border and start our trip already, lol!!

I just hope whatever this is will be gone and out of our house by the 11th! If something screws up this trip it will be mentally devastating.

You'll be fine at the border. I just flew back from my DS's Spring Break trip in Athens and the airline employee at our origination point confirmed that we had the negative test at the origination airport, we signed a form there, was never asked again at the layover or at customs.

You will be fine at the border. They are getting more colds because they haven't been exposed for over 2 years being masked and isolated. Can you have them take some immunity boosting vitamins?
