Tell me where you are aiming to visit this year :shamrock:
Full steam ahead after sitting things out since the end of 2019, I have two family trips booked for this year so far. Both are refundable so it's cautious optimism but trip number one is, of course, ANOTHER hopeful attempt to get to WDW and trip number two is a drive and stay a few days trip to Cape Cod, which we love. In the middle I hope to get back to NYC to my favorite hair salon and spend a lot more time in Boston's Public Garden, people watching and dining at restaurants. There are people I haven't seen for way too long so maybe a drive to Ocean City MD & Jersey Shore. I've missed out of zoos & museums and all such things. We are actually planning on going into a theater to see the new Batman this weekend. Pondering NY Finger Lakes wine country, some faires and festivals - never got to the Mass Renaissance Faire so here too. I'm sorting out where else I might want to go so please share :)

So far in the year 2022 we've been to WDW for 4 nights, combined with a stay in Ft. Myers for 2 nights - that was in late January/beginning of Feb.
Work trip to Las Vegas for 2 nights, then flew to Denver to meet my cousin for dinner before flying home to the east coast - mid Feb.
Work trip to St. Petersburg/Tampa area, followed by 2 nights in Ft. Myers - late March
I'm guessing a long weekend somewhere in the summer
Work trip to San Diego, might spend a few extra days to check out the area - late August
Long weekend, probably in Salem, MA but maybe Boston - early October
Austria & Hungary/Christmas Market trip* - Mid December
*originally planned on going at the end of April but changed my dates in hopes that things would be opened up a bit more if we waited a few more months.

I started the year off at WDW in January for marathon weekend. In April, we're going to Savannah/Hilton Head for a few days. June will take us to a 16 day road trip thru California that was postponed from 2020. DH really wants to drive the Shenendoah Skyline and the Blue Ridge Parkway in October, so we'll do that one long weekend (not all of it, of course, but some). I think we might take a long weekend to OCMD at the end of July, too. I'm clearly a little excited to be traveling again! I'm already planning our 2023 trips, too!

The usual summer driving trip out to New York State is all that's set in stone. DH and I are considering something for our anniversary, but haven't figured out where yet. He also has a brief work trip coming up.

Hoping to go to Paris and Bordeaux for two weeks in May/June. I have the time off confirmed, but flight prices are still high so we haven't booked that yet.
Flights did strike me as high too, but I just started looking yesterday so I realize I really have no idea which end is up anymore.

1. Walt Disney World (Feb. 25, 2022 - Feb 27, 2022)
- Birthday trip. I just turned 28.
2. Road trip from Everett, Washington to our home in Georgia (March 25, 2022 - ?)
- We are picking up the motorhome we just bought and driving it home!
3. Nashville, TN (April 29, 2022)
- We are going to see the Eagles in concert.
3. New York City (July 12, 2022 - July 14, 2022)
- We are headed to see my favorite musical, Notre-Dame de Paris
4. Orlando, FL (August 25, 2022)
- We are going to see Roger Waters in concert.

Los Angeles in two months to meet our newborn Granddaughter. Her Doctor recommended nobody outside her "bubble" be around her until she gets her first vaccines at age two months.
We usually go to Spring Training in Phoenix in March. Next week would have been that trip. Last year we couldn't because of covid. This year we can't because of the lockout.
Still staying close to home. Hope to do something in June for our 40th wedding anniversary but just going to depend on covid. Made it this far without getting it (that we are aware of).
But as I have posted before, we retired at 64 and won't take our social security until full retirement age off 66 1/2 next year so our game plan for this year and most of next was to keep close to home for financial reasons.

Flights did strike me as high too, but I just started looking yesterday so I realize I really have no idea which end is up anymore.

I'm usually happy enough if I can fly to Europe for under $800 round trip. Aside from the budget airlines where you don't get a checked bag (sometimes not even a carryon) they're all well over that right now. Five years ago we had direct flights to Paris for under $500 per person round trip - I miss those days.

We just got back from 5 days in New Orleans and a 7 day cruise.
We plan to go to Aiken, SC for a long weekend next month and are loosely planning another cruise for next fall.

We planned to go to Sandals in Curacao in April, but decided to cancel. The testing requirements were just too complicated and expensive, on top of an already expensive vacation.

4 nights on 30A starting tomorrow

4 nights at Disney next week

7 nights in key west in May - cancelled harbour island, Bahamas due to all the testing required to visit there.

7 nights in watercolor in june

8 night cruise on the fantasy in October.

Really trying to fit another cruise in on the fantasy in April.

Heading for a 5-day trip to Charleston, SC to visit with middle DS, DIL, and their dogs. He was up here just today (on a business trip) and we did a lot of discussing the trip as it will be the 1st week in May. We booked it way back early November but with the craziness of Covid this winter I was holding my breath (with my lung disease; yes pun intended ;) ) about getting excited for this trip. :goodvibes

The same two trips to WDW I always do. May and Oct. Flower and Garden and Food and Wine. I only had the May 2020 trip cancelled, did Oct 2020, May 2021 and Oct 2021. Also did Dec 2020 and Dec 2021 with the leftover points. Will not be doing Dec 2022, probably do Busch Gardens Williamsburg for Christmas instead.

Hoping to go to Paris and Bordeaux for two weeks in May/June. I have the time off confirmed, but flight prices are still high so we haven't booked that yet.
I wouldn't count too much on prices dropping. With everything opening up in Europe, it's going to be a busy tourist season. Not just from Asia and the Americas they are coming over, a lot of Europeans decide to stay in Europe because they can be a bit wary about international flights.

Want to go to the Flagler museum in Palm Beach.
We want to check out Destin.
Key West and then St. Augustine.
We like do do our Florida traveling outside of hurricane season.
It looks like our daughter will be moving here from Tacoma so that may eliminate some get away plans.

I may have gone a little overboard in my travels this year... but truth be told, it is a bit of a "last hurrah" before settling in to grad school and prioritizing career more in the fall, so no regrets.

I gave my daughter a season theatre subscription in a city about 2.5 hours from home for Christmas, so that's six weekend trips for various shows, the third of which is this weekend.

We're going to Vegas and Death Valley week after next, to meet DD20 over her spring break.

We're going to NYC for a Broadway show, just me and DD13, over her Easter break in April.

I'm chaperoning DD13's 8th grade trip to Mackinac Island in May. I'm also going to Chicago solo for a weekend to see Neil Gaiman, since he's not coming to Detroit on his US speaking tour.

In June/July, the whole family - DH & I, all three kids, DD20's boyfriend, and MIL - are going to Europe. Not everyone will be there the whole time, but the itinerary is Paris, London, Scotland, Wales and Ireland over ~3.5 weeks. I am stupid-excited for this! DS24 hasn't come on a family vacation in years, and MIL couldn't really join us when FIL was alive so this is the first time she'll be traveling with all three grandkids as well. My kids have so many wonderful memories of traveling with my mom and I want them to have the same kind of experiences with MIL while she's still young enough and healthy enough to join us on our adventures.

July brings the county fair and our usual camping week, but that hardly feels like traveling - we rent a cabin close to the fairgrounds because driving the 45min each way once or twice a day to take care of the girls' rabbits is just too much.

In August, we're headed to WDW to celebrate DD20's 21st birthday at Food & Wine Festival.

Then come September, younger DD starts public school and I start my master's program so I'll have to go back to impersonating a responsible adult with commitments and a schedule and all of that. But we do also have tickets to a music festival in Chicago at the end of Sept., and I'm sure I'll plan something for over Christmas break as it gets closer.
