Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I don't feel so bad for missing out now, lol. But I love Swan & Dolphin. If you are spa people, Mandara is wonderful. I had very relaxing day there back in May.
No, don't feel bad. In other circumstances I would have cancelled with no discount but the trip was planned early and everyone already took off from work. It was fun but nothing was can't miss.

Disney lesson learned (even at my advanced age). At least my airfare was cheap.

Our CL trip is planned for OCTOBER - and right now no trips planned before then -YET!

I hope to get at least 2/3 on the books before October, but schedules are haywire right now.

I am enjoying everyone’s photos of the Club lounges and offerings.

The last time we stayed club level, they offered Coke Zero by request and towards the end the trip they started stocking the fridge with Coke Zero.

I've taken some time away from the boards (mostly due to focusing on my new Peloton :rotfl2: ) But today, I dipped back into Disney since it was my Dining Reservation Day for my late February trip with DH.

Right now, we have two reservations: The Grand (RPC, Theme Park View) at FULL RACK RATE ($10,476.00 for 6 nights) (still no discounts to be had although we are retired military + I am an AP). AND a Deluxe King Room (basically a mini suite) at the Dolphin (the same room type I stayed at in Oct) ($2,496.83 for 6 nights).

I love The Grand and RPC but $7900+ for Club Level food (is there still just packaged snacks at lunch/tea time?) just is a lot to swallow. Even if we ate out 3 meals a day I can't imagine us spending near that much....No, there is nothing quite as magical as sitting on the balcony in our room being able to see the Castle and watch fireworks...But man, oh, man.

Yes, I will keep trying for a discount up until closer to drop dead date to cancel...but would love thoughts based on recent experiences at The Grand (and RPC)....

Rack rate at the Grand is so not worth it. I payed rack for the first and last time in October for the 50th. I will never pay rack again. The discount also has to be more than the 10 or 15% they are offering now. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary. We have stayed in RPC 2 and sometimes 3 times a year for over 20 years. The grand couldn't even give us a card that said happy anniversary. :rolleyes1:duck: It was just not the same experience that has kept us coming back year after year. We will not be staying there again for a week, I'll only book a night or two to go to the MK. No welcome gift or even a card welcoming us to the Grand. In December we stayed BWI CL and got a handwritten note from the desk CL CM welcoming us back to the BWI along with some taffy. The last night we got a card with a picture of all the CL CMs thanking us for staying with them. The cost of these things is negligible but it goes a long way in making guests feel appreciated and wanting to go back.
Hope you can get the military discount. Good luck with your decision.

I usually stay deluxe (and CL) but after our 50th rack rate experience at CR I do not feel as tolerant for the price point. They could have wowed me, but they did not. (and the coddled eggs were the straw that broke the camel's back 😆 )

I booked Swan for May and it is a value $ for the location. It's not GF or even YC but we will make our own magic with the savings. It's not a question of affordability but Disney prices are stupid for what they are providing. POFQ was my other choice for the same price point but I picked Swan for walkability to Epcot and DHS. We will not park hop or do AK that trip.

ITA. There was no wow factor at the Grand either. Minimal service at best. We love the Swan and Dolphin... just wish they had CL... princess:

Happy you enjoyed it! I guess we were in the lounge together at some point! We are still here, just moved resorts!
Yea we probably were, we pushed in the parks pretty hard, rope dropped 5 of the 6 days we had the park hopper, got on all the rides we wanted and tried new ones.

Totally agree with this. It didn't want to read our MBs. It isn't an easy set-up either once it actually worked. I would run over and push it with my back, and then try to grab my mom's wheelchair. Seems like there should be an easier way to do it.
Huge pet peeve for me, although not associated with club level is that the store in WL didn't have prices listed. Pricing on very few items. When I asked at the register about it, I was told that they can scan items at the register to get pricing. Really? I should wait in a check-out line only to find the price of something? Seems like a very deliberate attempt on Disney's part to get people to the register, and shame them into buying. So much price gouging going on.
Yes I noticed the price thing. All the little boards on the top of the displays with the color and its corresponding price were still there but none of the items had a color on the back (I remember this with the little earrings I was looking at and maybe pins). I thought it was just me not reading correctly
In my experience it really varies by resort (and can vary even at resorts that do it well). WL has historically been one that does it well. AKL pretty good. CR & Poly, not a chance. I have seen greeters waiting for specific people at YC - but never for me it seems (over multiple stays). 😂

In my opinion... definitely a your mileage may vary situation that I wouldn't expect/count on... but if they are there waiting, then bonus and a great way to start your stay.
I felt like a heel because we had been on site for a while kind of messing around in the parking lot, cleaning up the car, organizing our stuff, etc and here was this dude standing in the lobby looking for us and then we didn't even go upstairs with him. It was nice to be greated, we had this in 2017 also. I think it depends at the WL if they have someone available when you arrive. Both time we arrived by car not ME, but I had given a fairly accurate arrival time when I did online check in.

I’m not sure how you feel about a split stay, but we have really learned to like them…staying in a MK resort while we focus on MK and staying at an Epcot resort for Epcot and HS. You can Uber to AK from either one. We just spent the week before Christmas at Disney doing a triple split actually (that was not the initial plan but is what worked since we went a little earlier than planned and Disney was booked by then). We started out at The Dolphin in the Grand Suite. You can get this in a one or two bedroom option (we needed two) but you have to call. They do offer an AP discount sometimes and we got one so the price was CHEAP compared to Disney (less than half the rack rate of our deluxe RPC room)!! We loved having all the extra space in the suite, and because we still had RPC and BWI CL ahead of us, it wasn’t a big deal not having CL at Dolphin. 8FD63188-F699-45EF-ABF7-9F571E3C2326.jpegD329D84C-7DA9-47A1-9E56-7DD616CCE308.jpegCA424EB3-A62D-40B1-88A7-8FA5EEBC7A9A.jpeg
Sorry the pictures aren’t great…should’ve turned more lights on I guess! It was nice having an extra full bath off the entry hall! I don’t think I could justify paying rack rate for a longer stay in RPC now that they have taken so much away (especially the orchestra), but we enjoyed every minute of our time in RPC the weekend before Christmas! At least they had improved the breakfast by adding scrambled eggs (2 of the 3 mornings we were there). This was new from when we were there in September but someone else may have already reported this. The Grand is just…the Grand!

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend a triple split because it’s a lot of moving (but necessary under our circumstances) but I would consider an RPC/Dolphin split in your situation ! Just my two cents. I’ll be interested in hearing what @trishadono says about RPC after NYE! For heaven’s sake though…they need to bring back Mickey waffles at least! Of course, I love BWI, but that’s not one you are considering and @trishadono is already posting pics so we’re covered there lol!

There was one family who was in the lounge often with us, and we also were at the pool with them Christmas Eve (literally sat across from us). They had two girls (guessing like 9-13 age range?) Was that you? It was Me, DH, DD, DS.

I have a triple slit lol!
Swan move to BWI cl . We got up and walked for breakfast . Went to Epcot . Then walked to swan and took a taxi to BWI with 5 bags lol . One was golf clubs.
Tomorrow we will taxi from BWI to GF RPC.
Splits are easier with cl . Having a lounge really helps .

All of my rooms have all been 2:30-4P check in all this year.
In line SDD. Then back to lounge for breakfast with MIL who is coming to visit today from Crystal River.

I know you do...guess I'm a bad influence :rotfl: ! I have to admit that Swan/Dolphin are great options for a last minute change in trip plans, and now that I know what a deal their suites are, I have a feeling we'll be staying at one of them even more!0AF5AD06-342C-423A-A9AA-CD2E90609064.jpeg
A view of Tower of Terror is pretty cool too! Have a great day @trishadono! See you in a few weeks!

I got a call from dss about 1 week prior for both my trips this week.
Have not yet got my mid January .

These look delicious! Would you mind telling me what they are? I have been wanting to stay CL here for awhile, but we have some family members who are not fish eaters. Trying to see what options are offered each night that are not seafood.
