This may have been mentioned before and I just missed it, but I just noticed today that I have an AMEX offer for a 6 months free coffee/tea subscription to Panera! It's unlimited, one drink every 2 hours. It's not terribly convenient to go to Panera, but even if I just get a few free drinks a month, free is free!

That is a great deal - I assume that the subscription has to be in the name of the card holder? My 2 DDs would love to have this if I could get them each a subscription with DH and my cards.

I don't think it has to be, when I clicked on it, it took me to Panera to sign in to my account, so if they have (or open one) a Panera account in their names I think it would work.

I think I'll definitely try it with them. They both live close to multiple panera's and would love it!

Panera sent me a free coffee subscription last year for 6 months, and then when I cancelled they offered me 3 more months, lol. I won’t even drink their coffee for free! 🤮 I gave it numerous tries and just do NOT like their coffee AT ALL. I will stick with Starbucks.

Yep, I'm with you on this. As much as I love free stuff, I have tried Panera's coffee a few times, and even for free it is not worth it.

Well, it does include tea lol, so if I find the coffee horrible, I know where I can get free tea if I want some.

Not sure if this is where to post this question; it's related to the annual fee on the Disney Chase cards. We've had the Disney card for years, and last few years, the one that you pay 49.00/year to get the 2 % rewards. After next year, we don't plan on using Disney rewards as much, so is it easy to just call and change back to the regular no fee card? Looking over statements, fee was charged Jan 1. is that for the coming year? Does it matter when during the year I cancel? thanks!

I’ve called to change mine to the no fee card without any issues

If you product change to the no fee within 30 days of your annual fee posting, you'll get a refund. Any other time, it would be prorated.

Not policy yet, but expected to be announced this afternoon, fyi. Important for anyone with upcoming international travel:

“The new policy will require that all international travelers to the U.S. test negative for Covid-19 within one day, regardless of a travelers’ vaccination status or nationality. The policy is expected to be enacted “early next week,” according to a fact sheet on the plan. Fully vaccinated travelers previously were required to test negative for Covid-19 within three days of departure for the U.S.”

FYI, we’ve had a good experience with the Abbott proctored tests. Requires good internet connection.

Hi all. Wanted to share a project I’ve been working on- cosmetic renovation of our two upstairs bathrooms. They were stuck in 2005 builders grade limbo. All of the work was self-performed (by me). We completed the smaller bathroom in about 6 days, and the en suite bathroom in 4!!!! Our cost, not including accessories like planters was $2353.21.

We sourced primarily from Home Depot and Menard’s and took advantage of their 11% rebates.

CC related, we had a $4k spend for 60k MRs on DH’s plat, so our spend ($2300ish) netted us about 37k MRs, which I value at about $555.

I’ll share pictures below. I’m really proud of myself for performing all this work myself, from tiling, to plumbing to electrical. My husband was injured at work and has been home recovering from surgery, so while he was here and could walk me through things I don’t normally do, like plumbing or electrical, I had to do it myself. His torn bicep means he can’t even screw in a screw. I don’t think any of us realize how much we use both of our arms/hands.

I hauled mortar, combatted blown insulation, and fought with more wrenches than I care to admit. Even threw my safety glasses once out of frustration! There’s some touch ups, like caulk and paint yet.

We purchased the lighting but have to install it yet, as it has to be moved about 6-8 inches. That is included in the cost.

Photos to follow in subsequent posts.

Couches were delivered and my bathroom is being demoed. I'm overwhelmed but so glad to have started this project.

Waiting for my sw statement to close so I can start charging away. I think mine will close Sunday.
The waiting is horrible. I got my last MSR finished about a month earlier than expected, but can’t start on my SW card for a few days. Even when I can start spending on my SW card, I’m reserving some planned purchases for after January so I can use the Southwest shopping portal.

Ensuite bathroom, 50 square feet.

After:

So the ceiling fan was my arch nemesis. The blown insulation, enlarging the whole, duct work and wiring pushed me over the edge. And sadly, I'm going to have to uninstall and install a new faucet. I cannot stand the water marks. And it's supposed to be anti-tarnish, but it definitely looks like tarnish to me. Gold faucets are really hard to come by in a 4 inch centerset.
