What do you want for Christmas?

My husband and I quit buying gifts for each other years ago. He wouldn’t have a clue what to get me anyway and if I have to tell him what I want, where to buy it cause he doesn’t have a clue how to shop online, where it is in the store cause it could be right in front of his face and he wouldn’t see it, then why bother.
This is why my wife and I stopped buying gifts on birthdays, anniversaries and Chanukah & Christmas. We now just get something nice for the house as an "us" gift.

This is so hard every year. My kids always ask DH and myself in October and I always say, "We don't need anything because we buy what we want all year long." A lot of times they give us gift cards to resturants and Amazon and sometimes they buy us a joint gift. One year it was a TV and one year a $500 gift to The Borgota w/spa privileges.

My Dad and Stepmom always give money, which I am counting on to pay the bulk of the furniture I ordered a month or so ago.

My Mom likes to get gifts for the "house", so I think she is getting us a new firewood rack and cordless drill.

DH and I stopped exchanging gifts several years ago. We take a winter trip so that‘s our gift to each other. This year we are taking a 10-night Celebrity cruise followed by 4 nights at Disney World In January.

We do the same thing pretty much - we do stockings for each other, mostly with fun/silly type stuff. I'll get him a new bathrobe because he needs one...but nothing beats knowing there is a trip to go on after all the holiday decor is packed back up and we settle into the hum drum month of January!

I have some DVDs and books on my list, nothing elaborate or expensive. I have already told the family I want to upgrade my phone for my birthday next year, so if they want to contribute towards that or buy accessories, they can. My birthday is not too far after Christmas so I try to cover both at once and let them decide what to get when.

Now, if I could just get a suggestion list from my sister and BIL so I can start shopping, that would be great.

I just told my husband that I would like a remote car starter installed in my car for Christmas. Old car had one, and I never got one installed in the new one when I bought it last year.

Now that Winter is coming around again, it's a nice thing to have when it's snowing out and have to clear the car off when I leave work.

No actual gifts to open as we just bought a "new" house and will be moving 2 weeks before Christmas. We will be buying some things for that house, so that will be our gifts to each other! The best gift to me would be that this is a smooth transition with a minimum of cussing lol.

I am excited to see what I get for Xmas. My DD19 has an affinity for gift giving and normally knocks it out of the park. There is something wonderful about someone taking time really think about you as a person and select (or make) the perfect gift.

My DD is the same way. She has a knack for getting everyone the prefect gifts with no list

I just sent my list to my brother who drew my name- some new piano books, fleece gloves, and I would always take more dog toys because I'm constantly buying those. He owns a guitar shop so I'm betting I get piano books.

The only other people who will buy for me are DH and the girls. DH figures something out himself (the joke is it's almost always something to sit on- office chair, piano bench...) and the girls would like a list from me- that includes something besides my go-to ideas of jigsaw puzzles and shirts from Kohl's.

One year my wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas…… I said a divorce would nice.:::: got to hand it to her….. she never missed a beat and came back with, I didn’t plan of spend that much this year…… 😀

but on a serious note. I would be very if Disney would finish building Reflections

I'm still decorating my home office, so there are two specific paintings from local artists on my list to match pieces I already have. I deliberately didn't buy them myself just to have something to tell my mom and MIL that I want because I always struggle to put a list together.

DH will probably end up getting me concert tickets, since it looks less and less likely that our family NYC trip is going to happen this winter.

I have few little things on my list for the kids to choose from. A kettlebell, new phone case, cozy flip-flop slippers, candles. What I really should ask for are forks and spoons. I used to have two full sets and I hardly have any now. I swear the kids must be eating them along with their meals.

I take it you don't want a plug in heater for your car? My family in snow country all had those. No burning up $5 a gallon gas when an electric car heater will do the same think for less money.

DH and I sometimes exchange and sometimes we don't - these days it is primarily for the purpose of teaching our DD11 (only child) that's not just about her only. So it's usually 2-3 packages but stuff we would get anyway - a shirt, phone chargers, etc. DH's parents are divorced and still ask us for lists though, and we keep an Amazon list going all year long of things we mention but don't need enough to buy right away. Some things on my list this year are:

Remaining pieces of my Willow Tree Nativity
Apple watch Series 7 (this is either for DH or just something I'll eventually buy later.... our accounts are joint anyway)
A Swig tumbler
Lemons on Friday book
a new microwave bacon tray
Staedtler pens
Yoga Pant Nation: A Novel
Ello Food Storage containers
a Tarte eyeshadow pallette

I am totally not making this up but I genuinely asked DH for two toilet brushes with holders. Because we have 2 bathrooms and I have to keep hauling the brush up and down the stairs every time I clean the bathrooms and it doesn't have a holder so I end up putting g it in the bathtub and it's just gross and I never remember to just buy them myself.

The older I get the more excited I get about the strangest things.
