Will you be at Epcot on Christmas day? I still have a Coral Reef one I need to cancel, which we could try to time if you are.

PS - it is such a mess. It comes down to luck and being ready to reserve at some random time when they decide to load them instead of the promised release date.

No, not for Christmas! We'll be there before Christmas. I keep looking to see when dates are added. I saw one briefly when we'll be there but it got snapped up fast. :-(

I'm trying to get restaurants/dining we have never been to since it's just a special surprise trip for us 2 (he has no idea we are going!).

They are not requiring payment up front for these. Not sure if that's a glitch or on purpose, but they are just like regular ADRs.

[EDIT] Thanks to everyone posting updates here, I was just now able to snag a Biergarten CP reservation for 12:40 (8:30PM CP.)

I'm still very unhappy about the way Disney handled this.

Disney, if you are reading this, please start communicating openly and honestly with us, and treating us with respect and compassion. There an is inherent value in doing the right thing by people, and this is exactly the time of year when you should be thinking about that.

No. There is no reservation fee upfront. It is exactly like any other dining reservation (besides the few that require an upfront fee). And, they let you have more then one CP dinner package and a CP dinner package that overlaps with other dining reservations for some reason. Normally it will say you have an overlapping reservation and make you cancel the one at the same time you take the new one. That did not happen for me and I had to go back and cancel the other reservation.

And, I would have done the same!

The good thing is because people are able to hold more than one CP reservation - and not pay up front with no refunds (as Disney has done with the packages in the past) - people will definitely hold more than one. When they eventually cancel, there will be available reservations to scoop up.

Not Candlelight, but I just cancelled a 6:20 PM reservation on 12/15 at Chefs de France in case anyone is looking for a nice place for dinner during their visit.

I posted yesterday that I was able to get Rose & Crown for December 26. There definitely wasn’t much availability when I looked though.

Oh wow that is good you got one! It definitely seems those bookings are in the minority. I just got a Biergarten for Nov 28 but I really don't want a buffet (or that day) so I hope I can get Rose & Crown in early December...

I was able to get Rose & Crown for 12/29 at 2pm for the 7pm show. Booked it this morning at 6:30am ET. This is exactly the time and place I wanted. Don't give up!

it made me cancel another existing dining reservation within an hour of the CP dining reservation time BUT didn’t make me cancel the existing dining reservation that overlaps with the performance time that’s allocated to me.

Yesterday when I saw posts about openings I got this one - but it’s only for my family of four on our last park day and I really needed one the day prior for us plus grandparents who leave this day - but no luck. Not sure we arekeeping this CP dining ressie yet as the show conflicts with Space 220 dinner… oh If only Disney IT or their “partners” as the customer service on Twitter called them could have notmade the reservation launch so messed up!

I agree that some people will switch or drop reservations once Disney adds more narrators.

Since Disney didn't charge up front, I'll bet a lot of people snatched up reservations on multiple days, in the hope that one of their favorites will be narrator on an unannounced day.

So you still have hope! I'm sending you good wishes that you get a reservation.
