The adventures of Tiggerdad (A collection of camping locations, mishaps, reviews, alterations, food, and whatever else I can find)

Glad to hear warranties will cover everything. Hopefully none of it keeps you out of commission long.

Did you leave the light on for me at GSP? I'll be pulling in 2 weeks from today.

Well, "supposed to be" covered. I'm sure there is going to be some issue to have to sort out. We'll see.

I certainly did leave it on! They added about 5 parking places for vehicles at the middle beach area in the park. The beach at the traffic light when you turn in. If your lucky and it's open that is good place. Very few people.

I get a lot of creaking and popping when hitching and un-hitching along with some flex. I haven't noticed a lot of difference in the amount of flexing but have noticed a difference in the amount of noise it makes. May need to keep a closer eye on mine. Hope the fixes are quick and timely along with shaking the shingles.

Wow - great story with a bummer of an ending. So sorry about your health and rig issues. Hope they all find resolution quickly!

Had to wrap this one up early folks. I was having pain in my left arm from first day at the beach. It progressed to sharp shooting pain and by Wednesday I started seeing the final piece of the puzzle.

All way to the left hand.

Shingles it is! Woo hoo!

So we back home so I could get started on meds and out of heat.

I also got some RV issues. Main AC quit cooling yesterday and I've been monitoring an issue with rig flexing way too much when hooked up. You can see it flexes so much it keeps pulling trim loose.

Loss of 2nd AC not season ending, but this frame issue is season over until its addressed. Lord knows how long this repair stay will be.

Glad the shingles are getting better. Arnold & myself received the shot few years ago.
So sorry about your RV & hope you have it back soon. We have extended warranties with $200.00 deducted - even covers the tires. Arnold was smart on doing that. I have had to use it a few times this year.

Got the 5er back this past weekend. Supposedly waiting on Jayco warranty to approve the repaint on front cap. >:(

Service felt that the flexing at front wasn't the frame, but rather the sidewalls. They removed the 1" screws that attached the side trim to sidewall and underbelly and replaced them with 3" self tapping screws going straight to metal frame. Seemed to work coming home so we'll continue to watch.

The AC was covered by my Warranty for life that I pay for. I only owed $50 deductible. The AC cost $1200 and labor was $200 so I'd say at $100 a year for service call that warranty has already covered itself several years.

Well, @SouthAlabama5er and myself have been talking and plotting a large camping trip next summer. We finally decided it was time to get together and put pen to paper and plot this idea out. So picked up the pizza on the way home and Randy and his wife drove up from Mobile. After pizza, coke, and Tiki bowls of ice cream it was time to plot things out.

The ultimate plan is to head to Badlands National Park, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Windage National Park, Deadwood, and Devils Tower. After that we'll head to Yellowstone, the main focus of the trip. We'll finish out at Grand Teton before heading back home. All total about 15 days and 5,000 miles.

DW found it funny and the amount of notes and calculations we were doing. Sorry about angle of pic, the Dis don't like the vertical pics.

We seem to have general plan together.
Meridian, MS to St. Louis area first day. From there to Sious Falls, SD on the 2nd day. Third day will find us in Rapid City, SD where we'll likely stay for 3 nights. From there we'll tour Badlands, Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Windcave NP, Deadwood, and a few other places. Rumor has it there is a Steam train that has a 2 hour round trip from Deadwood to Keystone. We'll also catch Devils Tower in Wyoming. From there on to West Yellowstone for 5 nights. We'll tour Yellowstone from there. Move down to Grand Tetons for 2 nights before starting the 3 day journey home.

Gears are a turning...

That's a lot of brain power at one table.

Steam trains are always a good choice for your entertainment dollar.

That leg coming home from Grand Teton WY area to Meridian, MS is 1,700-1,800 miles. Gonna be a long 3 days on the road but you guys can take turns in front punching a hole in the air for each other.

Sounds like a fun plan.
