Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Tensions seem to running high around the DIS, in life, etc, again these days - so let's have some distracting fun on our little corner of the Internet. What does everyone think of this modern design style of putting the tub and shower in one large/combined room? FYI, this is the master bath in the new King K suite in the Tonga Longhouse at Poly.

I'd use it, but I went into safety & security mode and the first thing I thought was of someone slipping and cracking their head open on that tub. Not very friendly for elderly and certainly not ADA compliant.

I am so torn. Literally cannot decide. I feel like I should have a strong opinion on this but I can’t make a decision at all no matter how many times I look at the photos 😆

I don't think I love it either. I get it and parts make sense but I'm not a tub person and showering while stating at a tub seems weird to me. I'm very plain in my taste though. I do like the ledge because I'd my kids were little and in the tub then I would have a place to sit.

I will say I don't love it. It's been a hotel trend for the last 5 years or so - at least at some Boutique hotels I've stayed at for work travel (Kimpton Hotels) where they took perfectly good shower stalls and beautiful soaking/whirlpool tubs and did this kind of thing.

And while those clawfoot tubs are pretty, they aren't as practical - and there sure isn't the space for a romantic soak with bubble bath and your honey.....

This is an interesting concept but I really prefer the jetted tubs. The newer ones are air jetted so they are easy to clean!

Just seems like it would be easier to clean a tub/shower area than an entire room. And around the back of the tub...and they can't even get housekeepers to wipe down the mirror let alone this. But it looks nice.
Funny...I was thinking the same thing! I hope they used surfaces that can be sprayed down with bleach because I don't see housekeeping getting in there with a toothbrush to scrub all the nooks and crannies lol!

it also reminded me of when we went looking at RV's, specifically the small, sprinter ones, which are basically large vans, so not much room for anything really. But, one had a bathroom that even though it took up half the space, it was basically a shower with a toilet in it. Talk about multi-tasking, and I don't think there would be a need for any toilet paper.....and now I think I've said too much...

I loooooove it! Wish they would have done something similar in the 1BR instead of having a shower only with such a big closet/dressing area. After I take a bath, I always want to rinse off in the shower.

Lol, that was my first thought - “wow this would be a pain in the butt to clean!”

I was a hotel housekeeper for 2 summers in college so cleaning is always something I look at and this actually wouldn't be that bad IMO. The game changer there is that there's a wand with the tub... as long as the handle is long enough to spray everywhere in the room, that's actually not too bad of a place to clean. I'd spray the whole place down with disinfectant, scrub, then rinse!

Lol. I looked at it and all the grout is what came to my mind. Keep in mind that I'm currently dealing with a leak from the grout in my shower. I currently have a cut out hole in my living room ceiling and my husband is spending his vacation this week regrouting my shower.

SO I just received my 2nd call from DSS. A week or so ago they called saying there are here yada yada. Then ended the call "see you in September".

I just got a call for the night I added for BWI 9/28. I asked about AKL I have in 2 weeks and she said they not calling for trips that close.

Basically said to keep an eye on the wdw site for any updates or changes and they are here if need anything.

Not very impressive IMO.

Yes, this is the issue as I see it too...waaayyyy too much grout to have to scrub!

We moved into a new to us (yet 100 years old) house about a month ago, and when we bought it, I fell in love with how pretty the owner's suite shower was. For those of you who have old houses with 1.5 stories, it's one where parts of the owner's bath are kind of tucked into the nooks/crannies/eaves of where the attic would normally be. It's incredibly charming to look at, and it's lovely white subway tile on all surfaces of the shower (including the ceiling, with the exception of the glass door), but it is a HUGE pain to scrub clean...takes me about 40 minutes every week...and it doesn't help that they chose white grout instead of grey or black.

I do agree with @Tri-Delta4Life about the handheld shower head making it easier than if there was none, though. My new-to-me bathroom also has a large jetted tub that is incredibly deep and has a surround built around it...yet whoever installed it didn't spring for a handheld shower head to clean it with. Makes the job a lot more difficult, unfortunately. I know these are first world problems, but I tell my husband all the time that when design decisions like this are made, you know they're made by someone who doesn't have to do the cleaning!

I'm sure it's absolutely gorgeous! My first place with dh was an apartment we rented. It was a gorgeous old home, probably similar to yours, beautiful wood work, moldings etc. We had that white subway tile (as well as the 1 1/2 floors) and it was a nightmare to clean. My master bath is quite small but the whole thing is marble (minus the ceiling) with light grout. I screwed up when we picked it out 😆 Not a fun week but at least he could fix it himself and it won't cost us thousands and thousands.

For myself, no, and I'll tell you why: cleaning is a real "B" (if you know what I mean). Imagine all the stuff in the shower getting around all the open crevices around that tub, no thanks, and if the cleaning folks don't get back there I can only imagine how it'll build up. I've already had to endure a booger on the wall of a shower at Pop, tons of mildew at a few others, I can only imagine how this would get after a few months if they are less than careful. Plus that shower head is right in the middle, I wouldn't want to use the tub because all the park sweaty icky-ness will just fly all in there. Obviously I have feelings lol. Our builder tried to get me to do this in our house last summer and we obviously did not end up with this style.
