Star Wars Hotel Pricing

I think all the Disney fanatics and Star Wars fanatics will flood this place for about the first year. Then, to be honest, I think it's popularity will die down. People will start to realize that they can do things like take a week long trip to Hawaii or Europe for that price. I'm playing golf in Scotland for a week and a half next summer for less money than his hotel. A lot depends on word of mouth too. If people say that the experience is "unbelievable," then I think people may want to go ahead and pay. But if people are like "it's good but not worth the money," then they may have difficulty filling reservations after the first year or so.

We love SW, but I’ll just watch reviews or read articles about it. No way I want to spend that for 2 days…

It’s a hard no for me, which is what I expected. I can do a couple ten day trips at a value resort, maybe three, for what it would cost me for two nights as a solo (assuming I have to pay the double rate). I am also not a huge SW fan, one who prefers the original trilogy, and an introvert who would be more of an observer than a participant. I will enjoy reading trip reports about it though and hope people take lots of photos.

If you consider the number of people who pay rack rate and stay club level at the deluxe resorts, the (astounding, to me) number of people who book VIP tours, and the number of people who own more than a few DVC points, I'm gonna guess that the Star Cruiser will be constantly sold out and that the prices will go only up.

I could be wrong, of course, but I seriously doubt it.

The price is okay. It is high but we all knew it will be high. It does inlcude food and drinks (non acholic) and ticket. So that is good. I know we will do it in a couple years from now after the hype has gone down. We will sell our DVC points for that year to help pay for it.

Just like many things people pay an exorbitant amount for you will get the "it was the best thing since sliced bread" narrative no matter what even if to simply justify the cost. However on the flip side you have the tripadvisor style reviews where it's either that or straight up trashing every aspect of the hotel bc they expected to be sent up in one of Bezos or Branson's ships for the price.

It's very expensive but so are many things...I think this will have a cult following and return business even. Also there is something to be said of people who have the money, wanting to pay for exclusivity. In an ecosystem as large as Walt Disney World there are many different socioeconomic levels intermingling. Some may want to be with only a hundred others in their own paygrade. Just sayin...

Also I bet it's really cool...

Oof! Wish I could say i am surprised. That’s the cost of a 10 day trip to Japan with a couple of days at Tokyo Disney Resort.

For two nights, in addition to wherever else we’ll stay… Maybe one day, but that’s just not worth it to us today.

i definitely think the price is a bit steep but looking into what the experience will entail it does seem pretty cool..and i'm a very mild star wars fan.
Its nice that 3 meals pp/pd are included--that at least is SOMETHING you don't have to worry about
when going to Batuu, are the entry tickets to hollywood studios included? unsure if that was mentioned anywhere but if that is included that would make it more appealing

i probably won't ever pay it but there are people that will! I can imagine this thing is going to be booked solid for a WHILE my dad has already said he's paying for he doesn't care how much it is..

Where can I find what exactly the experience will entail? Sounds like something I’d do for dh’s 50th in a couple of years…

I think it will sell out for the first few weeks but fall off soon after. I don't see that many people spending $5k for 2 nights, even if it is all inclusive.

I don't have the link, but it includes planned activities and meals on the first day from 2 pm to around 9:30 pm, with possibly the bars open later. Then you have breakfast and an excursion into Galaxy's Edge the next morning, lunch and more activities the rest of the second day, and breakfast the last day before departing.

I think it won’t only be StarWars mega-fans trying to book a stay. Next level immersive technology is sure to get people who like doing the newest and best stuff out there.
Definitely. I'm interested--although this is way past my current Resistance pay grade(!)--and I'm not even a Star Wars fan. The rooms look cool, the experience sounds fantastic, and the entire thing intrigues me big-time. My sister, also not a Star Wars fan, agrees.

It is basically cruise pricing. It remains to be seen how many will fork over that much for 3 nights.

Let's be honest, you can say that about a lot of things Disney offers.
$129 for a dessert party that includes alcohol, but they price it so "adults" above 10 have to pay full price and subsidize the people above 21.

Very true observation, but let's be totally honest, at these prices, nobody is subsidizing anybody.
