What are your worst fears?

Having extasensory perception (precognition/retrocognition/clairvoyance) and empathy scares the living 💩 out of me sometimes. I use to shove it down hard and try to suppress it. I don't anymore.

My DD18 driving...I still get anxious every time she drives.

DD14 getting thrown off her horse.

One of DH's best friends is a retired FD captain and he's told some stories. It's not irrational and we really should get the duct professionally cleaned. :scratchin
My dad is a retired firefighter (was active and a lieutenant at that time). Even with all of his years and years of training, he froze when it was his own house. He tried to open the dryer and severely burned his hands. They recovered just fine, but it's not something he likes to bring up. Scary. But yes, it definitely happens.

Of course the accident rate isn't zero but far lower. The only question we should have as a society is how many deaths and injuries are we going to accept before changes are made that could drive the rate far lower.
Well, not sure how old you are, but I remember the outcry in 1974 when cars had to have a seatbelt interlock, no seatbelt on, the car wouldn't start. It was gone by 1975, just a warning light and buzzer.

As I get older... turned 73 last Tuesday, I don't fear death, but I do fear what could happen leading up to it. I have been fiercely independent all my life. My fear is being dependent on others for my everyday needs. I would rather die of a heart attack then linger and have to be fed, bathed and worst of all no longer able to drive. I know the last one seems odd, but it is a spine tingling fear that I think about everyday and what drives me to push myself and not let pain or other things stop me. I know those are old people fears but believe me they are indeed real. Sorry for the bummer post, but you did ask.

Fear that my malignant melanoma will return
Fear that I'll have a heart attack like my mom did
Fear that my daughter's foster kids are going to be placed with a "family member" who is not really capable of taking good care of 4 children 6 and under by herself. She is only related to one of the children, and I can't stand the thought of those kids getting moved again.

Something happening to one of my kids.

Something happening to me and leaving my kids motherless.

And bed bugs. Not really a fear, but totally paranoid.

IDK, both are pretty scary 😂
Well the thing is, he asked if "Kardashians" are real and I said yes. Which made him cry, much to our confusion. Of course later I had to explain "Kardassians" aren't real. But then he wondered if I was lying, since I told him the opposite before.

Getting my end of life affairs in order. I have no family and I have no will at this time. I am looking at different ideas as to what I'd like to do with my estate but I really need to just make a decision and make it happen. The thought of the state getting my estate and doing whatever they do with that type of thing really bothers me.

My girls are 31 and 28 and I'm still anxious about them driving. DS is almost 18 and is just starting to drive (he felt he wasn't ready when he was 15/16), and it terrifies me.

I am scared of bees and wasps, but that's because bad things happen to me when I'm stung...like not breathing.

I am terrified of frogs/toads. They scare the heck out of me.

I am worried about the grandbabies and the world we are leaving for them. Terrified of losing my husband.

No distant relatives of any kind? Whether you know or care for them at all, If they exist and become aware of your demise, I believe they would have some rights if you die intestate. Not sure if that prospect makes it more or less scary for you.

No, no family at all. I am looking at some organizations I'd like to possible give it to but I really need to work out the details in my mind first. I spend a lot of time saying "what if?" in my mind and it makes me not move forward. I have to just find a way to move forward and act.

My absolute #1 fear is my kids getting abducted. They are 23 & 18 now, so I don’t worry as much, but at one time I worried a lot.

My #2 fear is them getting in a terrible car accident.

My #3 fear is me getting abducted or attacked. I do not go shopping at night alone - my DH always goes with me and always has.

My #4 fear is falling. You will never catch me on a high ledge without a guard rail or leaning against a guard rail. I have no issue with heights if I’m safe.
