At first they didn't want me to come, now they don't want me to leave! April 2021 F&G TR (Updated 9/6!)

Your birthday staycation sounds really nice. I'm glad that you were able to spend it with your mom. :)

I cannot imagine not seeing my mom for that long, bad enough my sister lives in Georgia so we only see each other once or twice a year. Glad you finally got to get together and looks like a great visit!

Don't like lamb lol but your meal at Barca looks delish!

Yeah, it was really hard to go that long, I'm so happy she was able to come visit!

The meal was delicious! I can't wait to go back!

It was really great, I realize I need to take more staycations, they're actually really nice! It was awesome to finally see my mom again, I can't believe we went so long without seeing each other!

Day 4, Part 2: It’s a Runaway Railway!

We last left off with a solo ride on MF:SR. Once off I decided to head back to TSL and see what the wait for TSMM was. It was posted as 5 minutes, so of course I got in line!

The wait was a bit longer, around 12 minutes, but not bad at all. The ride was a blast as always, and I got my best score ever!! Not a great score, but so much better than what I normally get, and I was best in vehicle, which has never happened before (and yes, there were other people in the vehicle with me :rotfl2: )

When I got off the ride I was surprised to see how long the line had gotten, and the posted wait had jumped up to 45 minutes! Glad I got there when I did!

I decided to see what the wait for MMRR was next so made my way over there. The posted wait was 45 minutes, but it was the last ride I really wanted to do beyond RotR, and it wasn’t even close to my BG yet so I decided to hop in line.

Although the line looked really bad, and was posted as 45 mins, it went fast since we were almost constantly moving. It only took 30 minutes in the end. I did start getting super thirsty while in that line, my one complaint is that line is out in the hot sun with very little shade, so I asked a CM if it would be alright if I could drink some water, and he told me that as long as I was still in the outdoor portion of the line and the line wasn’t moving, then yes, I could drink. I’m glad I asked because I saw him telling guest after guest afterwards to stop eating and drinking in line while moving.

I am kinda bummed the preshow wasn’t happening for this ride, although I’ve heard it’s back now so can’t wait to see it in September!

The ride itself was super cute, I really enjoyed it! Although I don’t think I’d be willing to wait more than 20 minutes for it again (ok, probably one more time just so my mom can check it out in September as well).

Has this plexiglass been removed yet? I hope so, I'm not a fan!

Sadly the only fireworks I saw at Disney this trip.

I was getting really hot after MMRR so decided the best thing to do was to get a Mickey bar! I made my way over to a cart right by the exit to MMRR and got one, then found a table near ABC commissary to sit back and enjoy.

Mmmmmm, I love these things! This was a perfect pit stop!

While eating I checked my phone and was thrilled to see that my BG had been called! So I quickly finished up and made my way over to RotR!

Next Up: Rise of the Resistance!

Sunday Funday Bonus Post!

Some fun things happened this weekend that I just had to share. First, yesterday was my city's birthday celebration, and every year (except for 2020) they have this big fireworks display. The thing I love most about this though, is I can see them from my upstairs deck! It was so awesome to see fireworks again in person, I can't believe the last time I saw fireworks in person was my Disney trip in 2019!

Another fun thing, it looks like I'll be going to the Festival of the Arts this year! With all the crazy flight changes and cancellation and whatnot over the last year I have found myself with a bunch of flight credits that need to be used by April, so I figured what better way to use them than a bonus trip to Disney! I'm so excited, I've wanted to go to FARTS (hehe) since they first started it!

Quick RL update. Today is my 60 day mark, and I had a surprisingly easy time booking my ADRs! Well, except for Ale and Compass, there was hardly any availability there! Didn't expect that one to be the hard one to get! :rotfl2:

Also called this morning to make cabana reservations. At first the CM said that nothing was available for the days I was looking at, so we started to book a different day, but then she decided to look into it a bit more and suddenly the days we wanted were available! Phew!

I also asked about the fireworks cruise, and was shocked (and thrilled) when the CM told me that they just started booking them again! I tried to get one for our trip, but she said that they hadn't opened bookings yet for September. Oh well, guess I'll be calling again in a few weeks.

Probably one of my easiest booking days yet! Can't believe only 60 days til Disney!

Happy Belated Birthday! I know I am super late. Sounded like a great time with your mom.

YEAH!!! I want to book a cabana for our Feb trip. Fingers crossed I can get the day I want. I am hoping because it will be Feb it will be a little easier..

Toy Story Mania is my favorite ride at DHS. It brings out the competitiveness that I never knew I had. It is always fun to get a good score. :)

We were lucky enough to be able to see fireworks from our yard this past week. We felt the same way about finally being able to see fireworks again. It was a sign that life is getting back to normal. :)

I had a surprisingly difficult time getting Ale & Compass reservations for our May trip. It has become popular, but part of it might be that Crews Cup, Yachtsman and Flying Fish are still closed.

Thank you!! It was such a great time, I'm so happy she was able to make it down.

Fingers crossed for you! I think you should be fine in February, I thought it would be a lot harder to get one for September than it was. When the CM first told me there was no availability for the dates I wanted I wasn't too surprised, September is gross hot so a day at the pool is always amazing. Fortunately the CM tried again and suddenly they were available. PHEW! Glad she didn't give up!

Isn't it such a blast? I love it, although I'm sooooo bad at it!

That's awesome! Yeah, it is so nice to have these things coming back, I love seeing things getting back to normal. Now I really can't wait to see fireworks in Disney!

Ahhh, that makes a lot of sense. I was so surprised the earliest I could get dinner was 8:15, I never would have thought it would be a hard one to get! I really hope Crews Cup and Yachtsman open soon, especially Crews Cup, we really love that place!

So I'm sitting here finding myself on hold with Disney for another supposedly 90+ minute wait, ugh. How did I get here? Everything went great on Monday with the bookings right? Yup! Well, I thought.

I happened to scroll through our plans in MDE yesterday and noticed under the cabana reservations it showed "THIS IS NOT A RESERVATION"

Um, what?

Yeah, no idea. So of course I tried calling yesterday, and it was seriously boo bash ticket booking opening date all over again. It took me over an hour to even get through, just kept getting the all circuits busy message. Finally I did get through, only to sit on hold for almost 3 hours before finally having to hang up to get to some meetings.

So this morning I figured I'd call right at 7 like I did on Monday. Somehow on Monday I managed to get right through to a CM without being put on hold at all, so I assumed that if I called at 7 again today I'd have a similar no wait, or low wait. I called at the exact same time as Monday (6:59:59), and this time was greeted with a wait time of over 90 minutes. Ugh. Was some new ticket just released or something or was I just ridiculously lucky on Monday when I called?

Anyways, hopefully this is just some error in MDE, it does look like they charged me for at least one of the cabana days, so we'll see.

Wish me luck!

Yikes! It really is a major pain to have to call Disney for anything lately. I think you were lucky on Monday. I've had extreme waits for everything - so frustrating. But how fun to do the cabana for a day! I heard Yachtsman opens 8/5 and I hope Crews Cup will open with it.

It really is, well except for Monday! And they just picked up, wahoo! Cabanas are booked, phew! Apparently since the CM on Monday had to type in the reservation information it's not a "real" reservation in MDE, even though it is reserved. So confusing.

And that is awesome news about Yachtsman! I really hope Crews Cup opens too! Also wish it would open for lunch again, but I'll take what I can get these days!

We really liked going to Crews Cup for lunch. It was usually empty and a great place to relax from a busy morning at Hollywood Studios. We have been going to Beaches and Cream for lunch instead, but it just isn't the same.

Wow... I had forgotten about lunch at Crew's Cup. Those were the days. I think it opened at noon and basically no one knew. I have spent many an afternoon in there on my laptop when I've had to do stuff for work. The CMs in there were awesome too - hope they all come back. One recent positive though is the ability to order Yachtsman's onion rolls!

We also loved getting lunch there. You're right, it was usually pretty empty for lunch, guess that's why they stopped serving lunch there. It's too bad since it was such a relaxing place to take a break mid-day, plus I preferred the food there over the other lunch options around YC/BC.

Haha, they certainly were! It is funny, of all the times we've stayed at YC/BC since the mid 90s, we only discovered Crews Cup in 2016! It really is kinda hidden away there.

And what are these onion rolls? I don't think I've ever had them, but now I'm intrigued!
