I tried these on over the weekend, and seriously considered them...just thought they were a tiny bit too narrow for my duck feet.I also have wide feet and just foot problems in general…swelling etc. I got these skechers sandals…they have “yoga mat” soles, plenty of support come in wide sizes with adjustable straps. I wore them to Disney in 2019 and on a European cruise with tons of walking…no pain no blisters. Just bought my second pair for F&W festival!!
Lots of suggestions for Tevas above. Does anybody know how wide they are? I've been avoiding them because I need a wide width and they don't offer that as far as I can tell.
I have wide feet and have not been able to ever find a pair I can wear (womens or mens).
Most of the problem is that even with adjustable strap sandals, is that you might be able to make them go over your feet by adjusting straps but the sole of the shoe and where the straps connect will remain the same no mater how much you adjust the straps.
Unless I start with a x-wide sole I just cannot adjust a strap enough to wear without pressure points on the side of my feet/toes.
Thanks, Disney is a serious challenge with AT! I wish you all the best!!No shoe recommendations, OP, but just want to say I feel your pain. I've already had achilles reconstruction surgery on my left, and the tendonitis in my right is getting terrible. We were at Disney a couple of weeks ago, and the pain was about unbearable. Of course, recovery from that horrible surgery was even worse, so I just plan to continue putting up with the pain as long as I can.
Bring a rubbermaid dishpan - has worked for me in a pinch! Thanks for the Chaco's feedback - I had been wondering about them - will go try some on.I have wide feet, short Achilles, and tarsal tunnel in one foot. I have had bad PF in the past, ruptured my fascia during PT of all times and places. At any rate, I believe in good foot care.
I wear chacos for park touring. I used to wear keens and I don’t get enough support in them for all day, although I do love keens. When we break midday I switch to burkies. If we go back to the parks I might go back in my oldest pair of Birk’s if it seems the rain has mostly past but they are my oldest pair and have seen sone weather (I’ve had them since 1994.)
I use body glide and moleskin to help with hot spots and we all soak our feet at night in epsom salt. This trip, our camper doesn’t have a tub so I’m looking for epsom cream instead.
I think you have to find what works well for your feet, switch out when you need to, and just take good care. Stay hydrated. Put your feet up when you can. And gave an amazing time!!
I found some gel… we are flying so the dishpan might be hard to travel with lol.Bring a rubbermaid dishpan - has worked for me in a pinch! Thanks for the Chaco's feedback - I had been wondering about them - will go try some on.
